As Egyptian President Morsi addressed the Islamic Conference in Mecca, declaring that the Syrian regime must go; Egypt’s new defence minister has pledged his “unwavering commitment” to the American-Egyptian military alliance, US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta said.
General Abdul Fatah Al Sissi also “stressed that he takes seriously Egypt’s obligations under the Camp David Treaty” with Israel, Panetta said, recounting at a Pentagon news conference yesterday a phone conversation with the general.
Some adjustments to that Treaty may come as part of a regional peace deal after the loomig war. Such adjustments after thirty years and a complete change of regional realities are only reasonable to expect. However the US Egypt Israel alliance will be stronger than ever.
Panetta said Al Sissi is “a highly experienced officer who has trained and spent a lot of time in the United States.”
The new defence minister attended the US Army War College from 2005 to 2006, according to Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Wesley Miller, a Pentagon spokesman. The war college, which trains military leaders and is accredited to award master’s degrees in strategic studies, is based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
In other news today Saudi Arabis has ordered all of its citizens to leave LEBANON immediately and other nations will soon follow suit.
The UN Observers Force in Syria will dwindle down to 42 by Friday with the remainder to leave Syria in days. This opens the way for the US Allies to declare that diplomacy is dead and begin actions on their own.
Some six hundred insurgents have re-infiltrated Aleppo and deployed 20 T62 tanks as well as stinger anti aircraft missiles. Another wave of insurgents is expected in the coming days. to reinforce their comrades and counterattack against Syrian forces trying to secure the city, with US promises to defend any safe haven that they declare.
The coming assault on Aleppo is expected to be backed by an American and Allied strike on Syria; and the Syrians have promised along with Iran, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad to respond by striking Israel.
Israel is to retaliate by destroying Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Gaza militants. Hence the evacuation of foreign nationals from Lebanon.
Israel is prepared for a 30-day war on multiple fronts should it break out, and is “ready as never before” for such a clash, the outgoing home front defence minister said Wednesday.
The assessments are for a war that will last 30 days on a number of fronts,” he said, repeating the predictions of other senior Israeli officials that the Jewish state would suffer around 500 deaths in such a clash.
“It could be that there will be less fatalities, but it could be there will be more, that is the scenario that we are preparing for according to the best experts.”
The war is now very close and should take about one month to complete the regime change in Syria and the destruction of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards so that regime change can be effected in that nation, while Israel destroys Hezbollah and the Gaza militants.
Then will come the urgent necessity of making a regional peace which will include the concerns of all parties including Egypt. Israel will want to leave Lebanon and Gaza and turn them over to international peacekeeping forces with a solid mandate and a powerful force to build nations and secure the peace as in Kosovo, as soon as possible.
The main powers in the region will then be the; Judeo American Egyptian Alliance; known biblically as the King of the South; and the peacekeepers from the New Europe rising up and their allies.
