Proverbs 16-31

Proverbs 16

All spiritually wise thoughts and teachings come from God.

Proverbs 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

It is a very hard thing for a person to admit we are wrong, especially about things we have believed for a lifetime.

16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

If our works and words are of God, they shall be established.

16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

God has made all things for his glory, even the wicked forward his plan by teaching others how painful evil is and demonstrating that our own ways lead to destruction and death, so that men may repent and be saved.

16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

The arrogant and proud; of which there are very many will not be uncorrected.

16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

If we respect the Word of God and repent; God is merciful to forgive and lead us out of evil.

16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

We may have much persecution and struggle in this life, but ultimately Christ will vanquish all wickedness; those who sincerely repent will be reconciled to God the Father and his elect, and those who refuse to repent will be destroyed.

16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to [ultimately in the long term] be at peace with him.

It is better to be poor and a little flock, than to be large, physically rich and spiritually destitute.

16:8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right [without the sound doctrine of true godliness] .

People may imagine their own ways, but God works out all things according to HIS will.

16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

A physical king [an absolute monarch] has the power of life and death; and our spiritual King has the power of life and death; therefore, do all you can to please HIM!

16:10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.

God our Father in heaven and Jesus Christ are justice personified and hate all injustice.

16:11 A just weight and balance are the LORD’s: all the weights of the bag are his work.

All kings and leaders are established by their godly conduct and fair just rulings, for injustice incites rebellion.  If we want to become kings we must fully learn the justice, fairness and righteousness of all the teachings, ways, will and commandments of God our heavenly Father.

16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness. 16:13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.

The wrath of our King of kings is death to the wicked;  better to repent quickly and make peace with God before we are destroyed.

16:14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it. 16:15 In the light of the king’s countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.

By truth and wisdom come all good things.  Godly wisdom is the foundation of all good things.  Spiritual wisdom is worth infinitely more than gold.  To compromise with sound doctrine for the gold of numbers and funds is a fool’s decision.

16:16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

The godly depart from all evil and from even the appearance of evil, and will find life eternal.

16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

Personal pride causes a person to insist on his own false traditions, even against the Word of God.  An example of that is those who reject the Biblical Calendar of God, even though they cannot defend their apostate calendar; and even though they are clearly and obviously wrong, they will not change because pride will not allow an admission that a change is needed.

16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

A truly godly person abhors personal pride and is humble before the Word of God.

16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

If we trust to live by every Word of God we shall find eternal life and much good in the end.

16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. 16:21 The wise in heart [who has internalized all the teachings, commandments and nature of Christ] shall be called prudent: and the sweetness [godly teaching] of the lips increaseth learning.

Seek out and drink of the living waters of the Word of God; and eschew the teachings of spiritually ignorant men.

16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

The thoughts of the heart are spoken with the mouth.

Luke 6:45    A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Out of the good and wise godly heart comes words of the wisdom of God; and foolishness springs forth from the wicked heart.

Proverbs 16:23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

Zeal for the things of God produces words of wisdom and godliness, and brings spiritual health.

16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

If we do that which seems right to us, instead of doing what God has said; we race to our demise.

16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

We are willing to work hard for what we want physically.  If we desire to be at ONE with Christ we would be willing to labour very hard to attain that goal.

16:26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.

The wicked delight in evil and strife.

16:27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.

The evil false teacher leads men astray from Christ, their chief friend.

16:28 A froward [self willed] man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends. 16:29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.

The wicked leads men away from God to follow them to destruction.

16:30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward [stubborn self willed] things: moving his lips [teaching evil] he bringeth evil to pass.

Great age does not always mean wisdom; but the aged in Christ who are at ONE in FULL UNITY with God the Father, can be wise helps for the younger.  That is what the word “elder” means; one older and well proven in true godliness; NOT someone ordained by a corporate church organization.

16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

The spirit of God is the spirit of power to control oneself and obey the Word of God.

16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

We may make our plans, but God directs events in spite of our best laid plans.  The best laid plans of men often go awry.  The will of God is always fulfilled.

If the true faithful zealous godly, cast the lot before God for God’s purposes;  God will reveal his will.  The lot must be a clear question with a YES, No and None of the Above indicators.

16:33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.

Proverbs 17

It is better to have very little physical wealth and be at peace with God; than to be physically rich and fighting against the Most High.

Proverbs 17:1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices [food, wealth] with strife.

Those who zealously please and serve God shall rule over the earth.

17:2 A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.

Christ tests and judges the secret things of our hearts and our loyalty to God by our zeal to live by every Word of God.  Often temptation is allowed simply to test our love for God and his Word.

Those who compromise with the Word of God to try and moderate persecution, trials or temptations; are failing God’s TEST of loyalty.

17:3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.

Men will follow the desire of their hearts.

The man who desires their own ways will compromise with God’s Word and his heart will follow those who teach compromise.

The person who loves the law and ways of God will reject and refuse to follow compromise, once they understand what is happening.  The ungodly are easily tempted into wickedness.

17:4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.

Those who take pleasure in the suffering of others are condemned by God.  It is our mission to warn people to obey Christ and avoid the sorrows of sin..

17:5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

God our heavenly Father delights in his faithful children, and they delight in God their Father in heaven and all of his ways.

17:6 Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

To speak grand speeches signifying nothing but foolishness, is a great delusion meant to lead men into sin and destruction.  Do not be impressed by grand  honeyed lying rhetoric exhorting to compromise and sin.

17:7 Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.

A gift appeases wrath and the giver is accepted by the receiver.

17:8 A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.

As per Matthew 18; we should first go to the offender PRIVATELY and only go to the Ekklesia after all other recourse has been exhausted.  Yet when an evil is a matter of public record it may be rebutted publically.

17:9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

The wise accept and even love honest correction, for by it they grow and are saved from error.  Only a  fool cannot admit that he is mistaken, and will neither grow nor overcome, but will perish in his folly.

17:10 A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool.

The end of the wicked who will not be zealous to live by every Word of God will be most horrid

17:11 An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.

To be caught up in the folly of  spiritual foolishness which stands on false traditions and idolizes men, is the worst fate of all; for it will bring spiritual destruction and eternal death if not repented from.

17:12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.

The man who receives good and returns evil for the good shall fall into evil himself, for the men who sought to do him good, will learn to stay away from him and will no longer give him a warning.

17:13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

Starting a strife is like opening a hole in a dam; it only gets bigger and bigger until it cannot be controlled.  Therefore do everything lawfully possible to avoid strife.

17:14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

Today the Ekklesia is filled with those who justify and tolerate sin and condemn the just for rebuking sin  Those who do these things are an abomination to God the Father and Jesus Christ ,and will be corrected in the tribulation which is now immediately before us.

17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

Why do fools pay for instruction and then reject the wisdom of God?

17:16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?

A true friend will love and do right by his friends.  If we are the friends of Christ;  we will  love him enough to do as he teaches.

John 15:14   Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Deceived men shake hands with those who lead them astray and give themselves to serve men instead of God.

17:18 A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.

The person who exalts himself seeks destruction from God.

Matthew 23:11   But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Proverbs 17:19 He loveth transgression that loveth strife: and he that exalteth his gate seeketh destruction.

The proud and willful person shall be abased in the end.

17:20 He that hath a froward [stubborn, self willed] heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.

God our Father in heaven has no joy at wicked unrepentant children; for he loves that child, and wants to save him from the eternal death they are rushing to.

Ezekiel 33:11    Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Proverbs 17:21 He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.

The heart filled with the spirit, faith, love, and peace of God; which comes through zealous obedience to every Word of God; has peace of mind and FULL UNITY with God the Father and Jesus Christ!  The spirit of man which is broken through the wages of unrepented sin has no peace in the end.

17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

The wicked work to pervert and deceive the godly for a reward.

17:23 A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment.

The foolish are trapped in wickedness and fleshly lusts, but the godly receive the gift of wisdom through zealous obedience to Christ and God the Father in heaven.

17:24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

God our Father in heaven is grieved by the wicked and works to save them from their foolishness.

17:25 A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.

Why do the lukewarm for the Word of God attack the zealous?  Why do the spiritually lukewarm think themselves equal to princes [the zealously godly]?   Let them cast off their lukewarm lack of zeal and overcome; then they will be priests and kings indeed.

17:26 Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity.

The godly wise are careful with their words, to focus all people on true godly zeal for all the things of the heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

17:27 He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.

Better to be passionately enthusiastic to learn and live by every Word of God and BE wise; than to remain in foolishness!

Yet, the student should not try to teach until he is fully grounded in sound doctrine and is mature in the experience of obedience that brings godly wisdom.  Let the younger people learn and apply the Word in their lives; and when they are old they will be able elders, apt to teach the righteousness of God.

Elder men, well experienced and proven in the scriptures and in their example of godliness are to be ordained; not the young and inexperienced.

17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding

Proverbs 18

Wisdom is not given easily to men; they must desire it and diligently seek it out, working hard to find it.

Proverbs 18:1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

A foolish man does not seek out wisdom but relies on his own understanding.

18:2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

The sinful acts foolishly and brings contempt on himself.

18:3 When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.

The teachings of the Word of God, fill a man with the deep wisdom of God; which if a man obeys, wisdom shall flow out of his mouth in speech to others.

18:4 The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

A godly person does not respect wicked teachings or the actions of those who compromise with God’s Word and tolerate or commit willful sin.

18:5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

The words of a fool bring contention and make him worthy of correction for his departure from the wisdom of God.

18:6 A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.  18:7 A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

False gossip destroys reputations and is a vicious sin.

18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

The physically lazy will not acquire physical things; and the waster looses what he has.  The spiritually lazy does not gain godly wisdom and those who waste their spiritual inheritance by turning aside from godliness are foolish.

18:9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

Eternal safety lies in zeal to learn and live by every Word of God.

Instead of compromising to avoid trials, the righteous run to their God for their help and redouble their dedicated zeal to live by every Word of God the heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

The spiritually rich are full of the Word of God and zealously LIVE BY THEM. Their passion for the truth of God is their ultimate deliverance.

18:11 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.

If we are humble before the Word of God and delight to do the teachings and commandments of God; we will be exalted in godliness; but if we presume to exalt ourselves we shall be brought low.

So many in the Ekklesia today crave titles, positions of power and high offices; to exalt themselves and have the adoration of the brethren; God says that they shall be brought down to contrition before him.

18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

Patiently hear out the full story from all sides of a matter before leaping to conclusions and pre judging a matter.  This is true in relationships and it is true in Bible Study; seek the full truth on a matter with an open mind and be ready to discard past misunderstandings when the full truth is revealed.  Example the meaning of the Feast days.

Please see:  An Overview of the Biblical Holy Days and Appointed Times

18:13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

One overcomes physical trials through spiritual strength.

When our spirit is separated from God and his wisdom; it can only be saved through sincere repentance, the sacrifice of Christ and a turning to wholehearted learning and living by every Word of God.

A positive attitude helps to sustain us, but if that positive attitude is crushed and all we have is perished?  what is left?  except to put our trust in the Eternal all our days!

18:14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

The godly person is always quick to learn, continually growing in knowledge and the wisdom of God, through diligent study and application of all that he has learned.

18:15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

A man comes into the company of the great by his wisdom and gifts.  People come before the Mighty One, by their giving of themselves to internalize his nature and teachings.

18:16 A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

People may be very convincing that they are right, but are still to be tested to find out the real and full truth.  Don’t let anyone con you away from God’s Word.

18:17 He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.

The Word and will of God should be an end to all human contention.  Instead each man follows his own ways and twists the Word of God for their own purposes.

18:18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.

The closer one is to another, the deeper the pain of an offense.  Therefore the apostate who turns away from zeal for God the Father and Jesus Christ, has a hard struggle to rebuild the relationship.  Yes, Christ forgives, but that does not mean that the person is again trusted to the same degree;  He/she may have to prove their repentance through much trial.

18:19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

Out of the heart the mouth speaks, and our reward from God is according to the ways of our heart.  It we are wholehearted for all the ways, will, teachings and commandments of God we shall be filled with eternal life and all good things at the resurrection to spirit.

18:20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

We shall reap the fruits of our words and actions; whether for good or for evil.  the man who claims eldership and leads the people into sin and tolerance for sin; shall be destroyed along with those that follow them.

18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

There is no greater blessing than a good wife; who is loving, loyal, supportive and cooperative, being a good help in all things.  That is the kind of bride desired by Jesus Christ, and if we want a part in his collective bride we must have such an attitude towards our espoused Husband.

18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

A poor man pleads, but a rich man speaks with authority.  Even so those who are  spiritually poor will be spiritually wish-washy in their teachings;  while the rich in spiritual understanding will speak soundly according to knowledge.

Those lacking in the Holy Spirit which is given to those who OBEY God, will have a lukewarm, wish- washy preaching of the Gospel of Warning, Repentance and Salvation through Jesus Christ.

Those full of the Spirit of Wisdom through a zealous, passionate learning and obedience will teach with the authority of the truth of God.

18:23 The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

To have friends one must be friendly.  To be a friend of Christ, one must be friendly to Christ and live in FULL UNITY with God the Father and Jesus Christ

18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Proverbs 19

God the Father must first call people and initially open their eyes to the wisdom of Christ.  Thereafter it is up to us to accept that call and respond to it.

James says that we must also ask for wisdom which is a part of seeking it out.   Our studies must be accompanied by prayer asking for God’s Spirit and more of God’s wisdom, then we must follow through with study and meditation and keeping that wisdom in our lives.

James 1:5-8 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Proverbs 19

It is better to be physically impoverished and have a good conscious and relationship with God, than to be perverse against the Word of God and be spiritually foolish.

Proverbs 19:1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

To be willfully spiritually ignorant and run to do one’s own ways is foolishness

19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

The natural man is contrary to the ways of God.  We are born knowing nothing and Satan immediately leads people into rebellion against God, unless God the Father calls us to Christ and opens our minds to the way of life; the teachings and commandments of Holy Scripture.

19:3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.

As physical wealth attracts physical friends; spiritual wealth beings spiritual friendship with Christ and God the Father and those like them.

19:4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

Those who teach or tolerate false doctrine and compromise with the Word of God will be corrected.

19:5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

As men seek out and exalt the physically wealthy and successful today: The nations will entreat and exalt the King of kings and the spiritually wise in the Kingdom of God.

19:6 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

As the physically poor are despised, so the spiritually poor who have had no zeal for learning and keeping the things of God will be held in contempt in eternity:

Daniel 12:2   And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Proverbs 19:7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

The person called to the wisdom God the Father and who respond with enthusiastic study and the zealous keeping of God’s Word will find eternal life; to love the ways of God is to love the things that lead to life eternal.

19:8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

As God’s law condemns the false physical witness; it also condemns the teacher of spiritually false doctrine.

19:9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

It is a vexation to see fools and the wicked prosper.

19:10 Delight [wealth, success] is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

A wise man controls his temper, and shows mercy to the repentant.

19:11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

As the favour or anger of an absolute monarch can be life or death; greater is the power of the King of kings who can judge with eternal good or eternal death; therefore work zealously to please God and to live by every Word of God.

19:12 The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

As a physical son who rejects the wisdom of his father brings vexation; so is the son, called by God the Father in heaven who rejects God’s instructions; he is foolish and a vexation to God.

As a self willed and continually demanding wife is a vexation to a man; so is a self willed demanding bride a vexation to Christ.  To be a part of the collective bride of Christ we must seek to please him and not be bent on pleasing ourselves.

19:13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

We may inherit riches from our fathers, but a good wife is a gift of God.  Even so God our Father in heaven is working to provide a good spiritual wife for his Son.  A good wife without any spiritual blemish or any fault, but a perfect bride in every way for Jesus Christ.

19:14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

The lazy person shall see poverty; even so the spiritually lazy shall see spiritual poverty and have his talent taken and given to another.

19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

Zeal to live by every Word of God brings life eternal; compromising or breaking the teachings and commandments of God brings eternal death.

19:16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

God will reward the merciful and God will only forgive us as we forgive others.

Matthew 6:14   For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Diligently teach your children and rebuke them when necessary, that they may learn to resist evil and choose good.

19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

A person who cannot control their temper will fall into troubles again and again; therefore learn and live by every Word of God, that you may be filled with the spirit of self control and be saved.

19:19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

Hear and thoughtfully receive correction, which is instruction in righteousness; that we may learn the wisdom of God.

19:20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

The best laid plans of men can fail while every plan of God will succeed: Those who plan and work contrary to the Word of God shall come to nothing.

19:21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

The desire of people is the kindness of [to be blessed by] God.  It is better to be honest and in poverty with integrity before God; than to be rich in the things of worldliness.

19:22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

The fear of God brings obedience to all his commandments, which brings eternal life; the person who fears and respects God shall not see perdition, and shall receive eternal life.

19:23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

The physically lazy will be in poverty [even if he inherits wealth it will dissipate] and the spiritually lazy shall not inherit an office in the Kingdom of God.   Remember the parable of the talents.  This is a repeated point in the Proverbs meant to teach us that we must be enthusiastically zealous in learning and keeping the whole Word of God.

19:24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

When God smites the  scorners of the earth in great tribulation, all the earth will be humbled before him.   When a godly person is corrected he will thank those who warn him, for saving him from error.

19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

A son that diminishes his father and rejects his mother, is a shame and brings reproach upon himself.  The same is true spiritually; if we are not zealous for our heavenly Father’s teachings and commandments and reject the example and instructions of  Jesus Christ; we are a shame to them and will be corrected (Rev 3:16).  This applies to ALL  corporate groups and to the brethren who idolize such groups over the Holy Scriptures.

19:26 He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

Repent of tolerating false doctrines [teachings] that cause us to err from the truth of God’s Word.  STOP standing on false traditions and errors; and turn to stand solely on the solid Rock of Our Salvation, Jesus Christ; who teaches us to live by every Word of God (Mat 4:4).

19:27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.

The ungodly who tolerate false doctrine [teachings] and sin for the sake of an appearance of organizational unity; scorn the wisdom and  judgment of the Word of God and love to internalize sin as a starving man devours food.

19:28 An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

Those who reject knowledge and warnings to turn to live by the Word of God are spiritually foolish and will be rejected into strong correction.

19:29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools [especially spiritual fools who are not zealous to live by every Word of God].

Proverbs  20

Do not allow yourself to be dependent on alcohol or any other addiction.  This is a major problem today as many elders and leaders are alcoholics and often drunkards.

Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker [makes fools of us], strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

The wise fear the power of an absolute monarch, and the spiritually wise fear and respect the power of the King of The Universe.  It is provoking God to call ourselves God’s people and then NOT do what he has commanded.

20:2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.

There is great honor in being a worldly peacemaker; how much more honor is there in being a peacemaker between man and God, by teaching the gospel of warning and repentance, and teaching the way of salvation through Jesus Christ?

20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

As the physically lazy has many excuses for not working; so the spiritually lazy has his excuses for not being zealously diligent in his work to learn and keep the whole Word of God.  Both will have nothing at the harvest.

If we are not wholeheartedly zealous to live by every Word of God, we shall be rejected by him and have no part in the resurrection to spirit.

20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

A godly man will be thoughtful and carefully consider all things of God, to grow in spiritual understanding, as a physically wise man thinks deeply on the things of the flesh to understand physical things.

20:5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

So many exalt themselves with grand titles and self praise, usually to deceive and gain a personal following. Who is there who has godly integrity and stands on the truth of God?  He shall have eternal life and his children shall greatly benefit from his example and instruction.

20:6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? 20:7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

Our King has the power of correction and death; and the power of blessing and life; only the spiritual fool does not fear Him.   Who is guiltless before our God?  Let us all humble ourselves before him and repent to do his will, for he is merciful to the sincerely repentant!

20:8 A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes. 20:9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

Unjust, unfair and unequal actions are an abomination to God.  God is just, fair and equal, therefore fear to be a respecter of persons who exalt idols of men and false traditions.  As the measure should be equal for all, so it is with the judgment of God;  the king, apostle or priest that sins, faces the same judgment as the lowly who sin; indeed the elder who leads many to sin is worthy of a far greater correction than the lowly.

20:10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.

True men of God will be known by their fruits of zeal for keeping the whole Word of God, and the false teachers will be know by their lack of zeal for the commandments and teachings of God.

Those who go beyond teaching others to compromise and tolerate false teachings and sin, and actively persecute the zealous, shall have their judgment from God.

20:11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

God has opened the ears and eyes of those that God the Father has called; it is up to us to see, hear and live by every Word of God.

20:12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.

Do NOT be spiritually lazy!  Diligently pray, study, think and consider, how all the Word of God applies to us personally; and as we learn, KEEP what we learn, always be praying for God’s Spirit and for more understanding and the strength to fulfill all the will of God.

Work diligently in spiritual things and you shall be filled with the Bread of Life.

20:13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

A person will try to pay as little as possible to gain a great bargain; but the pearl of great price [eternal life with God the Father and Jesus Christ] is worth everything we have.  Therefore be zealous and diligent to run the race and obtain the prize.

20:14 It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.

The knowledge of God which is the Sound Doctrine of Holy Scripture, is worth all the wealth on this earth!

20:15 There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

As a fool gives his physical substance and himself [which belongs to his lawful wife] for a whore, so the spiritually foolish gives away the birthright of his calling and his spiritual understanding, for the enticements of false teachings and compromise with our baptismal espousal to Christ.

The pleasure of the moment is sweet; but quickly turns to bitterness as Esau discovered.

20:16 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman. 20:17 Bread of deceit [stolen things] is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.

Do not take decisions and actions without careful consideration and study.

20:18 Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.

Do not reveal your secrets to one who is a known gossip, or they will be soon exposed to all.  Have nothing to do with flatterers.

20:19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

As our physical parents are to be respected “In the Lord”, so our heavenly Father and our espoused spiritual Husband are to be honored, respected and whole heartedly OBEYED.

20:20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

An inheritance received by a person without character will dissipate and be lost.  Even so God will not give a spiritual inheritance of an office in his Kingdom to a person not properly qualified and of a spiritually lazy dubious character.  The offices of the Kingdom are reserved for those who are whole heartedly diligent and zealous for the whole Word of God.

20:21 An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.

Do not take revenge for yourself, the Eternal shall judge righteously  in his own good time.

20:22 Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.

God hates the unfairness of different standards for different people.

20:23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.

The deeds of a godly person are directed by the Lord through his Word.  Carnal man does not and cannot understand the way to eternal life or any of the things of God; until he is humbled and brought to sincere repentance, the things of God will seem nonsense to the mind of man.

1 Corinthians 2:14   But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Proverbs 20:24 Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

The man who appears before the Lord and then goes out to willfully sin is an abomination to God.

20:25 It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.

The wheel is that threshing instrument of a large stone pulled over the grain to separate the grain from the chaff.  The wise King destroys the wicked, and so it is with the wisest of kings Jesus Christ.  He will drive the wicked, Out of His temple.

God hates division between the brethren and himself, therefore he will drive out the sinful and those who tolerate false teachings, to maintain the unity of the brethren with God the Father and Jesus Christ!

20:26 A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.

God searches the spirit, heart and mind of every person, to determine their zeal for God or lack thereof, and to judge that person fairly.

20:27 The spirit of man is the candle [properly lamp] of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Jesus Christ is truth and is most merciful to the repentant; therefore quickly repent when convicted of sin; lest we be corrected in his wrath.

20:28 Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.

Let us be strong and wise in the ways of God and forever foolish and ignorant of the ways of evil.

20:29 The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.

The bruises  and wounds of correction and affliction of the flesh will save the spirit from destruction.

Today Jesus Christ is rejecting the spiritually indolent brethren into great tribulation, that through the affliction of the flesh he may save us spiritually.  When we see our cherished false teachings collapse before our eyes and our fears come upon us, many will quickly repent and turn to zeal for their God.

20:30 The blueness of a wound [bruise] cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

Proverbs  21

To be kings and priests under Christ, we must follow all the teachings and commandments of Christ; chief of which is to live by every Word of God the Father.  We must submit our will to God’s will and allow God to direct our thoughts and actions.  We must PROVE in this life; that we will diligently teach and enforce HIS POLICIES,  before we are entrusted with responsibility in HIS Kingdom!

Would ether God the Father or Christ EVER teach us to rebel against their own commandments, or compromise with the wisdom of their Word?  Would they EVER tell us to tolerate false doctrines or to stop rebuking sin?

What mighty king would tell his people that they need not obey his laws, and that they should tolerate the rebellion and teaching contrary to his instructions; or that his servants can do whatever each one thinks is right, instead of what HE commands?

We are to stand solidly on the sound doctrine and commandments of Holy Scripture, and are NOT to do what each person thinks is right.

That is the issue today; everyone follows this man or that tradition; and who is truly living by every Word of God?

God our KING does according to HIS will,, He is the decider, not us!

Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Let us follow all the teachings and commandments of Christ and live by every Word of God the Father; not doing as each man thinks is right.

21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

God wants us to zealously KEEP all his Word and Will, rather than having to repent from turning aside into sin.

21:3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Our attitude and deeds, by doing what WE want, instead of living by God’s Word is the same sin that Eve and Adam did in the garden.  The issue in the Garden was not that the tree’s fruit would immediately kill; it was that defying their Creator and doing what they wanted instead of what the Creator commanded would ultimately bring death.

Today we are standing on the words of men and false traditions, instead of on the Word of God; just like Eve and Adam did in the Garden; and we shall reap the same reward of being rejected from the Promised Land of God’s Paradise for that sin, unless we repent quickly.

Isaiah  55:6   Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 21:4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing [works] of the wicked, is sin.

As the diligent in physical things are blessed with physical gain; so the diligent in spiritual things find much spiritual gain and godliness!  The impatient and easily frustrated,  who quickly become discouraged and let up, will not overcome or gain the wisdom of God.

21:5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

To gain advantage by falsehood brings death; even so those who follow spiritual deceivers and false teachers will fall into the same ditch as they, and will find death and not eternal life.

21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. 21:7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

The person who follows his own ways is proud, stubborn, self-willed and unrepentant. Those who delight to learn and keep the teachings and commandments of Christ and to live by every Word of God are pure from the uncleanness of sin; because their deeds are godly!

21:8 The way of man is froward [self willed] and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

Does Jesus Christ want a contentious wife who resists him and demands her own way?

21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

The person who seeks his own ways, standing on the false traditions of men, and idolizing men and corporate organizations, and does not accept zealous obedience to God’s teachings and commandments; is wicked in God’s sight.

All those who teach to tolerate false doctrine, to hold back from rebuking sin, to turn from diligent study to learn and zealously live by every Word of God; and urges folks to accept the authority of men above the authority of Holy Scripture:  IS A FALSE TEACHER [FALSE PROPHET]!   He leads his neighbors to destruction!

21:10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

Those who stand on false traditions of men and scorn zeal for the commandments of Christ and the sanctity of the Word of God, including the Sabbath, Biblical Calendar and High Days; will be thrust into great tribulation that they may turn to a passionate zeal for God and be made spiritually wise.

The wise learns when he is instructed; and quickly turns to godliness.

21:11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise [the humble man is made wise by the correction of the foolish, because he sees that example and saves himself]: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

The godly person observes the actions and the end of the wicked, and learns from their example to avoid their false ways.

21:12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

We shall be forgiven as we forgive others and we shall obtain mercy in proportion to the mercy we extend to others.  That does NOT mean that we should tolerate unrepentant sin; mercy is to cry out the gospel of warning, repentance and the path to salvation through living by every Word of God; not to tolerate, overlook and fail to rebuke sin against God’s Word.

The merciless shall not obtain mercy

21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

When we offend others and realize that we are guilty; we should quickly go to then and repent; and even offer them some gift to pacify righteous indignation.

When we sin against the commandments of Christ, we MUST quickly repent lest we be corrected.

21:14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

The godly love justice and love the Holy, Righteous Teachings and commandments of the whole Word of God. The evil person who does not love the to learn and live by every Word of God shall be destroyed.

21:15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Here is an explicit warning that those who turn away from enthusiastic zeal to live by every Word of God, towards compromise, toleration of false teachings and a lukewarm complacency and disrespect for the authority and power of Jesus Christ and God the Father  will be corrected and if unrepentant; will inherit eternal death and not life!

21:16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

If a person wastes his substance on physical  pleasures he shall become poor.  If a person wastes his spiritual opportunities on doing what he wants in place of what God teaches;  shall be spiritually poor and destitute of eternal life.

21:17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

The transgressors of the commandments of God shall be destroyed [unless they sincerely repent]; while the upright in living by every Word of God (Mat 4:4), shall inherit eternal life.

21:18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

Again, Does Jesus Christ want a stubborn self-willed wife who rejects and fights his will?

21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

The spiritually foolish has no respect for the truth and treasures of the wisdom of God; he scorns and spurns zeal for the commandments and Word of God to keep his own ways whose end is death.

21:20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

The person diligent to learn and keep the righteousness of Christ as defined by the teachings and commandments of Holy Scripture shall inherit eternal life and a good reward of ruler-ship and priesthood.

In the Kingdom of God the Priests will teach all flesh to live by the commandments and wisdom of the Word of God, and the kings will enforce the Word of the King of kings.   If we have no zeal for the wisdom of God now and instead stand on the false traditions of men; how will we ever be in the resurrection to teach and rule the nations with Christ?

21:21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

As physical wisdom overcomes physical things:  Even so the spiritual wisdom of the Word of God; overcomes the spiritual strength of Satan over us.

Therefore seek the Word of God to learn and live by it with all your heart, for it delivers us from the deceptions of Satan and the bitterness of the grave.

21:22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

He/She who blurts out everything that comes to their mind without thinking, often makes a fool out of him/herself.  Therefore study and learn; keeping all the commandments and teachings of the Word of God, that you may be able to judge and speak with wisdom.

21:23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

The proud and haughty scorner of the truth who stands on the false traditions of men and their own ways; will come to extreme correction and ultimate destruction [unless they learn their lesson and repent].

21:24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

He who is spiritually lazy and lets others tell him what to do, is not diligently zealous to learn and keep the whole Word of God, and will die spiritually forfeiting the birthright of his calling which is eternal life.

The spiritually lazy, covets and will not receive; while the zealous and wholehearted seeker after the knowledge of God, will be given the wisdom of God to share liberally with others

21:25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. 21:26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

A person who claims that he is godly and under the sacrifice of Christ, while doing his own thing and standing on the false traditions of men and organizations is an abomination to Christ.  Repentance means to STOP sinning and to then internalize the righteousness of Christ, through a diligent learning and living by the Word of God.

To ask for the application of a sacrifice for our sins, and then continue in sin is an abomination to Almighty God

21:27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

A person who teaches falsely shall be destroyed

The person, who diligently learns of the true biblical Christ and keeps the Word of God, shall live forever and shall speak the true Word of Jesus Christ and God the Father for eternity!

21:28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly [he who is truthful continues forever].

The wicked hardens himself against the truth, teachings and commandments of the Word of God to go his own ways.  The upright and godly are directed by [and faithfully follow] the Word of God.

21:29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he [God] directeth his way.

Those who stand on the false traditions of men take note: No one is more righteous than God!

21:30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

No matter how we may think that our owns ways are the best ways; True Safety is found only in the zealous learning and whole hearted keeping of all the ways, teachings and commandments the whole Word of God.  Even if we are persecuted and tortured and die in this life; we shall inherit eternal life at the resurrection to spirit by the power of the HOLY ONE; who has power even over death.

21:31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Proverbs 22

A good reputation for godliness is worth more than physical riches; and finding favour with God is far more precious that great physical wealth.  We obtain favour and a good name with God by our zeal for learning his ways, living by his Word and internalizing the nature and mind of Jesus Christ and God the Father.

Proverbs 22:1 A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Before God and before the law of God the physically rich and poor are equal.  There is no respecting of persons with God.  We shall all be judged out of the same books according to our works of zeal for godliness, or the wickedness of exalting our own ways above the Word of God.

22:2 The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

The physically and spiritually foolish give no thought to warnings of affliction and fall into severe correction.

22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

All those who fear and respect God enough to wholeheartedly seek to learn and live by every Word of God; shall inherit eternal life and much reward.

22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

The spiritually wise should separate himself from the stubborn and self-willed, because the face strong correction and will be abased.

22:5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

If we teach our children proper physical values they will prosper.  When the Called Out diligently learn spiritual values and set an example of godliness and teach the eternal values of God’s Word, they and their faithful children shall prosper.

22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

As the physically rich rule the poor, so the spiritually rich who are zealous for all the things of God, shall in the Kingdom of God, rule over today’s spiritually lukewarm who give responsibility for their spiritual lives and salvation to others.

22:7 The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

The person who compromises with the Word of God shall reap emptiness and destruction and the rod of his power shall be destroyed.

22:8 He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.

If we are repentant and faithful, Jesus Christ is bountiful to give to us the Bread of Life eternal which is the Word of God, to cleanse us from all sincerely repented sin and fill us with the Living Waters of the Holy Spirit.

Those who are generous and not selfish, shall be blessed with increase, for many of the recipients of our bounty will give us their help when we need it.

22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

If we thrust the scorner of sound doctrine and zeal for God out of the assemblies, contention shall cease; as we are each individually united with Jesus Christ and God the Father; bringing unity in godliness with all those also in unity with God.

This ridiculous concept or tolerating disunity with sound doctrine to have organizational unity is anathema to Christ!

22:10 Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.

If we love purity of heart and abhor every shadow of sin; we shall be a friend of the King of kings!  If we compromise and sin being impure of heart and spiritually unclean; we shall be rejected from the presence of Jesus Christ and God the Father.

22:11 He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.

Jesus Christ and God the Father preserve truth and wisdom, by  overthrowing all falsehood and sin.

22:12 The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.

The physically lazy finds any excuse not to work; the spiritually lazy are no different

22:13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.

As the physically foolish is ensnared by his lust, so the spiritually foolish is ensnared by tolerating following false teachings [doctrines] away from what is godly and lawful.

The person who tolerates false doctrine shall be ensnared by it; and shall become abhorrent to Christ.

22:14 The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.

As a good parent correct his children when the need is there; so the God our heavenly Father will correct his children when the need arises.

22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Jesus Christ loathes the oppressor, who like Pharaoh rules the people with rigor.  Christ hates the doctrine and deeds of the Nicolaitanes; which is the exalting of men between God and his flock [Sheep Stealing].

Christ also hates the deeds of Balaam who for reward led people into sin, as many do today.

Revelation 2:14    But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication [spiritually by following any other teachings than our Lord’s] .

2:15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes [exalting the words of men above the Word of God; which is idolatry], which thing I hate.

2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Proverbs 22:16 He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.

How beautiful and pleasant are the teachings and commandments of the Word of God!  Trust in our Mighty One;  who reveals wisdom and delivers his faithful.

22:17 Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. 22:18 For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.  22:19 That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee. 22:20 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, 22:21 That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

Oppressing others and taking advantage of the poor is a terrible sin before God.  Such wickedness will not be unpunished by Christ.

22:22 Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: 22:23 For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.

Stay away from a hot tempered person or you will be caught up in his wickedness,  and do not learn his/her ways.  Godly wisdom is discretion and thinking before speaking or acting.

22:24 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: 22:25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

The teachings of Christ are those of: Personal Responsibility for all our words and actions, both physical and spiritual.

This is not against partnership in business, or helping those poor and needy through no fault of their own; it is in reference to letting people con you out of your assets, or paying off the debts of the lazy when it will not benefit them, only encouraging further laziness.

22:26 Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. 22:27 If thou [he] hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?

Do not move an established landmark which is stealing land.  The sin  of Judah today

Hosea 5:10  The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

Those diligent in the spiritual things of Christ shall stand accepted before the King of kings.

22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Proverbs 23

Be careful not to be greedy for physical things.

Proverbs 23:1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: 23:2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. 23:3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.

Do not seek physical wealth and exalting your own ways, rather seek the wisdom of God.

23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Physical riches evaporate like the mist and seeking them is to grasp a handful of air

23:5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

The eye is the window to the spirit.  Be careful of the motives of one who emphasized how much he loves you as he takes advantage of you.

This is a warning not to get conned by a person who professes friendship as he seeks to take advantage of you.  If his friendship is all a one way street, his way; and not a two way street with him doing the true deeds of friendship, stay away from him.

23:6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. 23:8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.

A spiritual fool will despise words of godly wisdom

23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

The leaders who take advantage of and oppress the poor and helpless shall face their redeemer for judgment.   Those who extort from the helpless and needy and rob the flock or take the inheritance of widows and orphans with persuasive words will be recompensed by the Almighty  (Ezekiel 34)

23:10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless: 23:11 For their redeemer is mighty; he shall plead their cause with thee.

Be diligent to learn and live by every Word of God.

23:12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.

As we instruct our children in right ways; elders are to instruct the spiritual children of God the Father in heaven with the knowledge of righteousness.

If the elder sees sin in his flock he MUST rebuke that sin, and if the sinner will not stop after three warnings; they are to be rejected from the assembly until they do repent.  I am talking about justifying the breaking of God’s Word; like going out to restaurants on Sabbath; those who sin and then justify themselves against the scriptures are to be corrected and rejected if they do not repent.

23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

God the Father rejoices at the heart which is strong to learn of him and to do his will; for he rejoices in the life eternal of his children.

23:15 My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. 23:16 Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things.

Do not envy the pleasures and wealth of the wicked; for you have eternal life and much treasure for eternity; if you are zealous and passionately diligent for the Word of our God.  Do not look at the present, but consider the future end of the matter.

23:17 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. 23:18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

An exhortation to seek the wisdom of the whole Word of God and not to focus on worldliness.

23:19 Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way. 23:20 Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

Seek the truth of God above all else and do not lose or diminish your understanding by turning aside.

23:22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

God our heavenly Father is delighted in a wise child who passionately loves HIS teachings and commandments to learn them and to do them.

23:24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. 23:25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

As a whore is a trap which consumes a man’s life; so is false doctrine and the false traditions of men.  The physical whore entices into transgression and so does false doctrine [teachings] of idols of men.

23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. 23:27 For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit. 23:28 She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.

The alcoholic [and all addictions] has his judgment confused.  Addicted  is a kind of dependence it is slavery.

23:29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 23:30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.

Physical alcoholism brings lapses in judgment and often leads to whoremongering

Spiritual addictions to spiritual false traditions, false doctrines [teachings] and sin, also separate us form our spiritual spouse Jesus Christ and his Father in heaven.

23:31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. 23:32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. 23:33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.

Those who engage in spiritual adultery against their spiritual spouse shall be as one fallen into a deep pit or is fallen into the sea and who is unable to extricate and save himself.

23:34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.

There are very many false religious leaders and false elders today.  They claim to lead us to liberty and life, as they lead people to destruction.

The evil consequences of following and exalting false spiritual teachers, who are addicted to false traditions and false teachings, and to spiritual adulteries against our spiritual spouse; shall ultimately bring destruction from Christ and eternal death if not sincerely  repented of.

They cannot stop, they cannot save themselves; they return again and again to the bondage of sin.

2 Peter 2:19   While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Proverbs 23:35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

Proverbs 24

Do not envy the apparent success of commandment breakers for it is only a temporary reward from their father the devil for following him.  Their success will vanish with the wind and eternal death.

Proverbs 24:1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. 24:2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

As physical houses are built by careful preparation, thought and planning followed by hard work; so our place in the Temple of God [his family] is built through hard spiritual work; laboring night and day in all the learning and doing of the Word of God the Father in heaven.

24:3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: 24:4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

The wisdom of God is stronger than all worldliness and earthly gain

24:5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

By God’s wisdom you may make war against the wiles of Satan and overcome iniquity.

The scripture is the collective wisdom of God written by very many God inspired men; it is the very nature of our Maker Jesus Christ in print.  Let the Word of God be your counselor at all times!

24:6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

A foolish man who scorns the wisdom of all the Word of God; shall not be exalted by the Eternal to rule over his heritage.

24:7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate. 24:8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

Even thinking of departing from the teachings and commandments of God or compromising with his ways is foolishness and sin against our espoused Husband Jesus Christ, to whom we have pledged total eternal loyalty at our baptism.

24:9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

If we turn aside to temptation, or give way even a very little under trial; we are spiritually weak and foolish; not having grounded ourselves in sound doctrine and zeal for all the ways of our God.

24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

If you have knowledge of approaching calamity and do not warn people; your blood will be required by your Maker for those you might have saved by giving a warning.  (Ezekiel 33)

24:11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; 24:12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

The Word of God is compared to honey for its goodness.  Come take and eat of the sweet teachings and commandments of God, internalize the nature of the Holy Father in heaven and the wisdom of eternities, which brings life eternal and all the wondrous things of our Maker.  Taste of the wisdom that created the universe and all that therein is!

24:13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: 24:14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Let the godly be delivered from the wicked who seeks his life by deceiving the righteous into false teachings and sin.  The righteous is delivered by his zeal for all the ways of his beloved Mighty One!  For he runs to his Awesome Deliverer and does not try to mitigate his trials by giving way to sin.

24:15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

Those who truly and sincerely love Jesus Christ and God the Father with passionate zeal, may make many mistakes, yet they keep getting up and calling out to their Beloved LORD; they keep on trying until they learn the ways of God and overcome all sin through the indwelling of the Ultimate Overcomer, Jesus Christ.

24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Jesus Christ gave his life for his enemies, when we are like him we shall not rejoice at the fall of the wicked but rather at their repentance and saving.

God has called out a people to righteousness and we have for the most part, like physical Israel, failed in our calling to diligently live by every Word of God.  Those who claim to be in the faith and look down on others in our pride; do we not bear the greater responsibility:  For they understand nothing, and we, who supposedly understand, are not faithful to our espoused Husband in all his ways.

Who will face the greater condemnation;  the one who knows and does not [like most of US]; or the one who does not know, and yet does the best he can?

Ezekiel  33:11   Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Proverbs 24:17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 24:18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Don’t envy the success of the wicked who depart from the wisdom of the Word of God for they shall perish in a short time.

24:19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked: 24:20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle [lamp] of the wicked shall be put out.

Respect all lawful authority; first God our Father in heaven, then our espoused Husband; and then follow others who are faithful to God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son.  Finally respect the law of the land insofar as it does not conflict with the Word of God; and if it does conflict with God then leave that land.

24:21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: 24:22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

God dos not respect persons but treats all equally in his judgment; why then do we respect any man above others?

24:23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

Ultimately those who correct the wicked shall be exalted by God over the people, while those who overlook wickedness in high places shall be accursed from Christ and the people.  Very many in the assemblies close their eyes to the wickedness of their leaders, and in so doing are led away from Christ.

24:24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him: 24:25 But to them that rebuke him [rebuke the wicked leaders] shall be delight [they shall have a blessing from God], and a good blessing shall come upon them.

The godly wise shall lead many to righteousness and are a blessing to the person who hears and does the truth of God.

24:26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

Work hard to prepare yourself to be a part of the bride; studying diligently to learn and apply all the teachings and commandments of Christ; and your reward shall follow after you.

2 Timothy 2:15   Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, [learn to] rightly dividing the word of truth.

Proverbs 24:27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

Do not bear false witness; and do not witness [gossip] pointlessly without a good purpose.

24:28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

Return good for evil.

Luke 6:35   But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Give good for the evil you receive and God will bless you

Proverbs  24:29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

The spiritually lazy and lukewarm who do not work hard to find salvation through the diligent passionate zealous study of the Word of God; to learn and to live by every Word of God, and to be in FULL UNITY with Jesus Christ and God the Father: shall be spiritually impoverished and full of the thorns of false teachings and sin.

They are unprofitable servants not approved by God

Matthew 25:28   Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

25:29  For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

We must work hard to internalize the whole nature of God to enter into eternal life

Proverbs 24:30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; 24:31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

24:32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. 24:33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 24:34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Proverbs 25

Proverbs 25:1 These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.

God conceals much, to test people and inspire a zeal to seek out his wisdom.  Those who would be kings are to diligently seek out and learn the wisdom of God.

25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Those chosen to be kings by the King of kings will be those filled with the wisdom of God.

25:3 The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart [wisdom] of kings is unsearchable.

When the called out study and live by every Word of God, they shall also be tried and tested and  polished and will be the better for their trials.

25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

The King of kings shall not exalt the wicked, complacent, lukewarm and spiritually lazy as his helpers.

25:5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

The spiritually wise would NEVER exalt themselves with high sounding titles and claims of greatness.  Jesus said “only God [the Father] is good, and he was always humble before his Father.  Therefore those who make great claims and take grand titles without the fruits to back it up are false teachers, of which there are many in the Ekklesia today.

Matthew 23:12   And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Proverbs  25:6 Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men: 25:7 For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen.

Follow Matthew 18 in disputes and go public only after seeking a private resolution.

25:8 Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.  25:9 Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another: 25:10 Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.

The godly word that saves a brother is as:

25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

A reprover of sin and teacher of righteousness is a good friend to those who love godliness.

25:12 As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

The faithful messenger who delivers the true message that he was sent to deliver, is like a breath of a cool breeze in the heat of summer.

The faithful deliverer of the gospel of warning and repentance, commissioned to him by Christ, is a delight to his Lord.

Those who pervert that warning into a business model approach, to increase their personal followers; are a shame, an execration, and a foul stink in the nostrils of Jesus Christ.

Christ commands his people to learn, to live by and to teach others to live by every Word of God.  As the cool of the autumn after a hot summer is refreshing to the workmen, the faithful messenger is a delight to his Lord.

25:13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters.

Those who claim to have God’s Spirit when they do not are deceivers and a false teachers leading men to destruction.  TEST THE SPIRITS, to see if they are of God; test men and spirits by their zeal to live by every Word of God.

25:14 Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

Do not get discouraged, but study God’s word patiently and persistently; while zealously keeping what you have learned.  Over time you will grow much in the wisdom of God.

25:15 By long forbearing [persistent effort with patience] is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue [wise words]  breaketh the bone.

Read God’s Word a little at a time and with much prayer and thought; lest reading overmuch without carefully thinking about the material; it goes over your head and you do not gain any real understanding of the intended meaning.

25:16 Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.

Do not be a pest to others, and do not waste God’s time with endless insincere prayers meaning nothing.  Say what you mean and mean what you say in prayer.  Be sincere and avoid long windedness.  It is better to pray for two minutes and make your meaningful point; then to pray for hours and brag to others about your long prayers.  There can be much self-righteousness in improper prayer.  Start correcting this by never discussing your personal prayer life with others.

Matthew  6:5   And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.  Jesus then goes on to give a model prayer covering what is truly important.

Be very careful not to make a pest of yourself in your visiting, do not stay overlong and DO help your host in every way you can, not taking advantage.

Proverbs  25:17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

Never bear false witness against anyone.  This is more than outright lies; it is also using partial truths to deceive about the whole situation; it is about spin and innuendo.

I always say what I say straight out, and when I am shown to be wrong I will always publish any rebuttal or corrections supplied by the person mentioned.

25:18 A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

To have confidence in men and not God, is foolishness that will bring much sorrow.  Seek out your God and follow God to live by His Word, and do follow not make idols of men and their false traditions, instead of the Word of Almighty God!

25:19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.

Joyful songs are vexation to the heavy of heart.  There will be much bitter repentance for the lukewarm called out, when they are in great tribulation; but they will be filled with joy at the resurrection if they sincerely repent!

25:20 As he that taketh away a garment in cold weather, and as vinegar upon nitre [soda bicarbonate], so is he that singeth [joyful] songs to an heavy heart.

Set an example of godliness and teach the salvation of the Bread of Life eternal to all peoples; for the Living Water of God’s Spirit shall be poured on all repentant flesh (Joel 2:28).

Teach the gospel of warning, repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ and those who despise you now will ultimately understand and bless you for faithfulness.

25:21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: 25:22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

An angry look of disapproval can correct the wise

25:23 The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.

Does Jesus Christ want a wife who is combative and fights his will; or does he want a wife who loves him and is quick to work together with and cooperate with him?

25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.

Good news is refreshing to the spirit, and God’s people who delight in his coming will hold their heads up high as they see the day approaching (Luke 21).

25:25 As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

For the righteous to be downtrodden by the wicked is a great evil

25:26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

In all sincerity to leaders who find the praise of men sweet: For a man to exalt himself is not wise; for he shall be abased by Christ.  Just do your jobs with no thought about yourself.

It is far better to be acceptable to God and accursed by all men; than to be praised by all mankind and separated from God.

25:27 It is not good to eat [too] much honey: so for men to search [to exalt themselves and sing their own praises]  their own glory is not glory.

Self control and genuine ruler-ship over one’s own spirit, is to be desired above physical wealth, and is a fruit of the Holy Spirit of God.

25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Proverbs 26

God will not give honor to the spiritually foolish who compromise with His teachings and commandments; nor to those who tolerate false doctrine [teachings] and overlook willful unrepented sin.  Such people will not inherit eternal life with honor if they remain unrepentant.

26:1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.

As the migrations of birds come in their time, so the curse of correction will fall on those who compromise with the Word of God in their due time.

26:2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

The spiritually foolish who compromise with God’s law and instructions, shall be corrected by many stripes and very soon now shall fall into the correction of great tribulation.

26:3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.

Do not join in the foolishness of the person who turns away from zeal for godliness into lukewarmness to live by the Word of God, lest we also fall into great correction and trials.

26:4 Answer not a fool according to [to go along with]  his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

Rather, correct the foolish who teach tolerance for sin and false doctrine, and compromise with the teachings and commandments of Christ.

26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

The spiritually foolish are not diligent to deliver the gospel of sincere repentance and instead perverts that gospel and delivers a false message of his own devising.

26:6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

The ways of a man seem right to him but they are not just and equal, being distorted to his own perceived advantage.  The ways of Christ are always just and equal.

26:7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

To honor those who compromise with the Word of God, are like those who attack the zealous for God and create strife and division between God and his people.

26:8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.

As the intoxicated fall into hurt; so the spiritually intoxicated with their own ways, run to their own destruction.

26:9 As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools.

God shall judge and reward the spiritually foolish who tolerate false doctrine and permit unrebuked sin; they shall see strong correction in great tribulation and if they sill do not repent they shall not be a part of the collecti8ve bride.

26:10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.

The spiritually foolish are no different than a dog returning to his own vomit when they seek to return to the bondage of sin.

26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

There is little hope for the proud, who are intoxicated with what they think is their own greatness.

26:12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

The spiritually lazy and lukewarm in zeal for learning and living by every Word of God shall remain spiritually ignorant rushing to their own destruction.  He who has no zeal for eternal life or the ways of God will perish in his spiritual laziness.

26:13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. 26:14 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. 26:15 The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.

The man who will not study to correct himself, is still wiser in his own eyes then seven godly men.

26:16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

Meddling in the strife of others is asking for trouble

26:17 He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.

The person who thinks it sport to trouble others without any good reason, is a foolish troublemaker; and is not of God.

26:18 As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death, 26:19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport? 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

An ungodly troublemaker pours fuel on the fire of strife because he takes pleasure in seeing the strife he causes.  It makes him feel powerful and in control of the actions of others.

26:21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

The betrayer of confidences is a great sorrow to all those who put their trust in him

26:22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Lips burning to teach false doctrine and rebellion against the Word of God: are like a broken vessel covered in rust and infection:  good for nothing!

26:23 Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.

Those who use fair sounding smooth deceitful words, to speak lies are still deceivers; do not believe their false teachings to permit tolerance of false doctrine and sin among your assemblies.

Men who speak of the love of Christ and use it to deceive men away from Christ, by saying that Christ is love and will tolerate willful sin; are ignorant of Christ and filled with hate against God and all his ways.  They are arch-deceivers from salvation; stealing your crown of eternal life.

God is NOT divided against himself.  Any man who says that we can tolerate false teachings and sin; is of ANTICHRIST!

26:24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; 26:25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.

God shall reveal the true nature of such evil men

26:26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.

Those who attempt to deceive, shall fall into their own deception and trap, and shall reap their own destruction.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Proverbs 26:27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

Those who think they know better than Christ and have a better way than zealous obedience to every Word of God are spiritual fools.

26:28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

Proverbs 27

None of us can guarantee tomorrow, for each of us our end may come with the next breath, therefore we should sincerely repent and seek God with zeal immediately, and never procrastinate in establishing a good relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ through the diligent learning and zealously living by every Word of God.

27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Bombastic self praise is nothing more than a foul stench to God.

27:2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

To be forced to endure the attacks of a spiritually ignorant person. Who is right in his own eyes and very far from God, is a weighty vexation.

27:3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool’s wrath is heavier than them both.

The envious; attack the godly and persecute them without cause

27:4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

To rebuke sin and false doctrine is the godly love that converts and saves the spirit of the repentant from perdition.  The wise man loves godly correction, for by it he is saved much sorrow and finds eternal life and great reward.

27:5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.

Only a good friend full of God’s love will correct us out of a false way to risk hurting us for a moment to keep us on the path to eternal life.  The people who profess love and do not rebuke sin and false doctrine is our enemy leading us to destruction, and he is an enemy of GOD!

27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Let us hunger and thirst after EVERY WORD of God; and let us seek out his correction, which may be bitter for a moment, but leads to life eternal.

Hebrews 12:11    Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Proverbs 27:7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

If we wonder from the Word of God we lose the true spiritual foundation to be driven about by every wind of false doctrine [false teaching].

27:8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.

The encouragement of the godly, to godliness; is a sweet joy to the faithful children of God.

27:9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.

Passionately seek the Eternal;  all the godly who also seek him shall be united with God the Father and Jesus Christ which is the foundation for group unity. Assemble together with the godly and forsake the false teacher.

27:10 Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

God our Father in heaven tells us to make him happy by our zeal for him and all his ways.

27:11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.

The spiritually wise quickly repent at the warning of evil and saves himself.

27:12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Like a man who dissipates his wealth with strange women, so is the spiritual fool who turns aside from delighting in his God to give up his spiritual understandings for the enticements of strange false doctrines and sins.

27:13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.

Learn to discern between good and evil, and be thoughtful even while doing good

27:14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.

Consider whether Jesus Christ wants a contentious nagging uncooperative wife as a part of his bride.  You men who are resistant to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ and God the Father now; will you be a good part of the collective bride of Christ?  If you resist him and compromise with his Word now; you will be rejected as a part of the bride.

27:15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.

Whosoever has a contentious wife has inherited an ill wind which makes bitter all the good things in his life.  Does Jesus Christ want a bride like that?

27:16 Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.

It is GOOD to have friends in the ways of God, with which to encourage one another in the Word of God the Father and in the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ.  It is a great evil to be deceived by false persons who have no regard for any zeal for the Word of God.

Do not meet with false brethren just for the sake of meeting with someone.  We are to assemble with like minded Christ-like persons.

27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

The person who cares for his fruit trees shall have his good reward, and the good and faithful servant of his master shall have his good reward.   Let us therefore serve our Master Jesus Christ with all our hearts and minds and spirit, in all our will and strength and all the strength that is given to us.  In doing so we shall bring forth much spiritual fruit.

Those who compromise and say “He will overlook and forgive”  are not remaining in the true vine Jesus Christ and will be cast into the fire! (John 15).

Proverbs 27:18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.

As a reflection reveals one’s true face; so the desires of the heart reveals the true nature of a man.

Will you watch hour after hour of worldliness on TV on Sabbath?  Or spend money encouraging people to sin in restaurants on Sabbath by your example?  Will you spend the Sabbath speaking of everything except the Word of God?

Or will you spend time with the scriptures learning and speaking of godly things on God’s day?

27:19 As in water [reflection] face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.

Those who run after physical things are never satisfied.  Do you want a car?  When you get it you will only want something else.  The pursuit of physical things and pleasures is a never ending quest for a handful of wind:  Far better to pursue spiritual things that will last forever.

Brethren, the called out are called to build up a spiritual character house worthy of becoming a part of the collective bride of Christ.

Some of us are lazy and just sit there hoping someone else will build our character house for us.  Others work a little and then get sidetracked into false ways and false products [false teachings]. Some others are zealous and work hard to build a solid character house, built up on the solid Rock of our Salvation, Jesus Christ.

Matthew 7:24   Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Proverbs  27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

The person who continually refines and corrects himself by the Holy Scriptures, NEVER standing still, NEVER standing on false traditions;  but always ready to discard error and embrace truth with passionate joy at learning some wonder of God shall be refined as silver and gold are refined; refined into purity of spirit and full wholehearted UNITY with God the Father in heaven and Jesus Christ!

The person who is always willing to discard his personal ways and pet ideas for the purity of Christ; shall be much beloved of God the Father and Jesus Christ; and shall be exalted by them forevermore!

27:21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.

Though a spiritual fool who departs from zeal for the Word of God were ground in a grindstone like wheat, he will not repent for he is always right in his own eyes.

Yet with God all things are possible and the proud will be abased in great tribulation in the hope that the spirit might be saved.

27:22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

As we should be diligent in our physical affairs; we should be even more diligent in the spiritual things that really matter for all eternity.  We must be about our Father’s business in building our personal character house upon the Rock of Our Salvation.

Let us pay attention to all the things of God whether we think them large or small, for breaking the law in one point is breaking the whole law; and breaking the Word of God in one point is breaking the whole Word of God.

27:23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. 27:24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation? 27:25 The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. 27:26 The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. 27:27 And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.

Proverbs 28

The evil doer is always right in his own eyes and hates correction.

While thinking of himself as good the spiritual evil doer works hard to conceal his evil deeds under a cloak of “good;” hiding in the dark behind charities and fine words about loving others while he steals your eternal life by subtly leading people away from all zeal for living by every Word of God.  He will receive his reward of eternal destruction.

Those zealous for all the ways of God the Father and Jesus Christ are to be bold in preaching the true gospel of warning, repentance and salvation through the diligent learning and keeping of the whole Word of God.

28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Evil leaders in this world will fall and be replaced by others, and God will correct wicked leaders and nations in his time, while a man’s godliness brings him eternal life and ruler-ship over his inheritance and dominion in the Kingdom of God.

28:2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

When the leaders of the Church are spiritually poor and lukewarm, zealous for their own ways and bereft of zeal for the ways of God, and rule their assemblies with rigor; it is a great evil.  Should not the leaders and elders be zealous to excel as examples and teachers of righteousness, that the brethren may be brought into FULL UNITY with the Word of  God?

28:3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

Only commandment breakers justify other commandment breakers, for in doing so they are justifying themselves.

Those who are zealous for the Word of God are to rebuke the sins of those who are not, in the hope that they may be saved by a good warning.

28:4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

Those who turn away from zeal for righteousness and the commandments of God, think themselves righteous as they do what THEY THINK is right, and have no thought that they will be corrected as evil doers.

28:5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Spiritual zeal for the ways of God, is eternal spiritual wealth

28:6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

Spiritually those who passionately obey God their Father in heaven are wise and acceptable to God.  Those who disobey God their Father in heaven are foolish and will be corrected by him.

28:7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.

Those who seek gain by false means will be corrected and lose their wealth to the poor.  Those who exalt themselves over the flock to deceive and make merchandise of them; will be brought down and the flock given to others.

28:8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

Hear the Word of the Lord:  because we have no zeal to live by every Word of God, our prayers are NOT heard!

Yes our prayers are an abomination to God the Father because we neglect to live by the WORD of God and instead stand on our own ways and false traditions.

28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Many wicked leaders have risen to the top in the Ekklesia and have led the righteous astray from their passionate zeal for the Word of God.  Their end is destruction and death.

28:10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

Physically wealthy men tend to trust in themselves, they put their trust in their own judgment and in their wealth.  The poor humble themselves before God and diligently seek out all the ways of God.

28:11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him [God] out.

People should keep themselves from the wicked, and run to hear the wisdom of God; they should run to seek out the righteousness of God, and the holy justice, fairness and love of the law of God.

28:12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

We cannot hide or justify our sins from God; we should quickly repent and confess before God and turn from evil to live by God’s Word that you might be saved.

28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

The person who is always respectful of God and is passionately zealous for ALL the instructions and commandments of God; shall be kept from much evil and shall rejoice in the day of his visitation.  Those who think they know more than God and compromise with God’s ways will fall into much tribulation.

28:14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

The wicked ruler devours the poor, today many such wicked leaders devour the means of the  brethren.

28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

The elder who covets wealth, power or adulation from the people, sins; those who hate such covetousness shall live as spirit forever.

28:16 The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

The leaders who teach others to tolerate false teachings and overlook sin, shall die in the end; for they are deceitful murderers, who are leading the righteous away from the Lord of our salvation into spiritual destruction.

28:17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

The zealous to learn and keep all the ways of God are upright and shall see salvation.

Those who are zealous to make idols of men, false tradition or corporate entities, and are  not zealous to live by every Word of God, shall fall into tribulation and destruction.

28:18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

If we work hard to internalize the nature of God; we shall be filled with the Bread of Life.  If we follow men instead of living by every Word of God we shall surely be destroyed.  Follow men ONLY as they follow Christ and live by every Word of God.

28:19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

A person faithful to all of Holy Scripture shall be blessed with eternal life and much wealth in the soon coming Kingdom of God.  Those coveting physical riches, power or adulation are not guiltless before God.

28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

Apply the same law and the same standards to all persons.  Follow ONLY those who are zealous followers of Christ to live in Christ-like zeal to live by every Word of God.  Eschew the person who is not faithfully zealous for all the ways of God, for the deceitful man will transgress for even a small reward.

28:21 To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

Physical riches are a mist that disappears from the hand that grasps them; better seek the spiritual riches that never fade away.

28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

To rebuke sin is to do God’s will and will save many, and will bring much reward in the end of the matter.  To overlook sin and flatter a person is to  lead the victim to his destruction for he cannot correct himself if his sin is not made known to him.

28:23 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

To justify sin is to be suicidal.  God is our Father in heaven and the deceivers try to rob God when they attempt to lead people astray from God’s sound doctrine into sin.

28:24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

Those who are proud, stubborn and self-willed, who must go their own ways, will fall into calamity; those who trust in the Holy Scriptures shall be delivered and flourish in the resurrection of the chosen.

28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Many of today’s the church leaders are proud and lifted up in their own minds by their pride in their false traditions.  In due time they will be brought low, as their false traditions collapse under the weight of the reality of truth.

Those who stand on the Word of God will be delivered; therefore repent quickly that you might also be saved.

28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

It is a good thing to help one’s neighbour.  But not to the neglect of all the other commandments and teachings of Christ.  If we break the law in one point, we have broken the whole law; therefore help your neighbor and also zealously keep all the teachings and commandments of God.

Do not use helping neighbor to distract you from loving God by living by every Word of God

28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.

When deceitful teachings to tolerate false teachings, and overlook, tolerate and justify sin; are rooted out and destroyed like the choking weeds they are:  Then the good fruit of all the righteous ways of God will flourish in the assemblies.

28:28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.

Proverbs 29

The stubborn person that resists correction and hardens himself to insist on his own ways will face destruction.

29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Those who are not zealous to live by the Holy Scriptures, will not be in the resurrection to spirit.

29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Spiritually those who follow after false teachings are throwing the birthright of their calling in the dirt and mocking their heavenly Father by treading all over his wisdom; while the zealously faithful to all the ways of God their Father in heaven, bring joy to their heavenly Father.

29:3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

To pervert justice for a bribe or to tolerate false doctrine for numbers and income; is an abomination to God; for justice and godly judgment, to learn and keep all the holy commandments of God establishes a person and a kingdom.  The King of kings will not promote any person to rule in HIS kingdom who tolerates false teachings and sin.

29:4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

Flattery is a trap to ensnare people and deceive them away from an honest humility before God.

29:5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

Sin and false doctrine is a trap that will cause a men to fall into eternal death, while zealous  learning and keeping of the Word of God will deliver a person out of the pit of the grave and into an eternal life of rejoicing.

29:6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

The wicked like Pharaoh oppress the weak; while the godly deliver the oppressed.  Jesus Christ and his godly followers work to deliver all people from the oppression of sin and false doctrine.

29:7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

Those who scorn the teachings and commandments of God and insist on their own ways will fall into destruction and death; while the godly who are zealous for all the ways of God will be saved from eternal destruction and death.

29:8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

The godly cannot win an argument with a spiritual fool because his every thought is right in his own eyes. No matter how wrong those who are wise in their own eyes are, they are always right in their own eyes.

29:9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

The wicked seek to lead the upright into sin; while the godly seek to save people from sin.

29:10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

A godly man thinks before he speaks to be sure that his words will be according to the Word of God

29:11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

If we listen to and tolerate lies and false teachings, the whole assembly will eventually be perverted away from God an d the godly will leave that congregation.  When the unclean becomes mixed with the clean; the clean is polluted and becomes unclean.  Therefore reject the uncleanness of sin and tolerating false teachings, and embrace the cleanness from sin of the Word of God.

It is the application of the atoning sacrifice of the Lamb of God to the sincerely repentant, and our learning and living by every Word of God which makes us clean from sin.

It is tolerating sin and false doctrine without instruction and rebuke, which makes us unclean.

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Proverbs 29:12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are [will be] wicked.

God gives all people physical life; both the wise and the foolish.  Therefore repent and give glory to God, learning and doing his will.

29:13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes [has given this physical life to both of them].

The person who is faithful to all the things of God and is juts in all his ways shall inherit eternal life and an eternal kingdom.

29:14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

As it is sometimes necessary to correct a self willed child that is adamant to reject his parents instructions; So our heavenly Father will correct us if we provoke him and sin against his teachings and commandments.

There is a child who is eager to learn and still makes mistakes, correcting his mistakes and growing in knowledge;  such a child is approved of his parents in spite of his mistakes!   God the Father will also rejoice in such a person who when he makes mistakes, and those mistakes are unintentional and when the person quickly repents when he realizes he is wrong.

Then there is a self willed child who rejects the teachings of his parents and thinks that he knows better than his parents.  Our heavenly Father will also correct the person who rebels against his Word, out of a deep love that by afflicting the flesh God the Father can save the spirit for eternity.

29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Even though the godly are very few in the corporate church, they shall be delivered and shall see the correction of the wicked.

29:16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

As our physical sons benefit from instruction and occasional correction; so we as the sons of God benefit from the instructions and correction of our heavenly Father.

29:17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

Those who turn away from and compromise with the Word of God have no spiritual vision and fall away into sin and death.

29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

A servant who is self-willed may understand and will still not agree.  So are the ungodly who may even understand some of the Word, but will not agree to DO it.

29:19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

Think before you speak and do not blurt out everything that comes into your head.  Jesus Christ was able to answer wisely because he spent much time in prayer and careful thoughtful consideration of all the teachings, commandments, and ways of God the Father.

29:20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

To bring up a child not your own physically, as your own; is the gaining of a son.

29:21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

Control that temper, for no man of temper can be entrusted with authority and men given to uncontrolled anger will most certainly not be entrusted with authority in the Kingdom of God.

29:22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

Pride is a destroyer of men, for by pride a man chooses his own ways and does not listen to the Word of God.  The humble of spirit will be subject to the greater wisdom of God and so are saved from the fall of the proud.

29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

The friend of the wicked shall be accounted as wicked; keep yourself far from wickedness, and as much as you can do not associate with wicked people.

29:24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

The fear of men caused HWA to deny Jesus Christ and say “A strong hand from someplace” which could be interpreted by the hearers according to their own beliefs and gods.  That man became ashamed of his Lord, and brought great shame upon himself before Christ.

Mark 8:38   Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Proverbs  29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

We shall be judged by God according to all the Holy Scriptures and according to all our deeds; therefore do not fear men or seek their approval and acceptance;  SEEK THE ALMIGHTY WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND STRENGTH.

29:26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD.

Light and darkness cannot be in agreement; neither can evil be at one with the upright.  The time of separation of the upright from the lukewarm is fast approaching.

29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

Proverbs 30

Agur glorifies God and speaks of God’s glory as God spoke to Job to humble all the proud.

Oh, my brethren; there is so very much pride in the Ekklesia today.  They think that they are spiritually rich as they lean to their own ways, rejecting the Word of God for their own false traditions.

Humble yourselves and turn to your God, oh Israel, for why will you die?

Ezekiel 33:11   Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Proverbs  30:1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,

Agur the humble before God.

30:2 Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.  30:3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.

Agur asks what man approaches God in greatness and wisdom?

30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

The Word of God is pure and holy, the Word of God converts man from sin into life eternal!

30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Thinking themselves wise the wicked depart from the Word of God, to their own destruction.

30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Agur asks God to keep him from the vain deceit of those who seek to turn him away from zeal for God and into compromising with the Word of wisdom and life,  and he asks to be neither physically poor nor rich but only to have his basic needs met, that he be not overcome by desire for physical things.

30:7 Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: 30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

If you have an issue with any person; go direct to him first as per Matthew 18.

30:10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.

Agur speaks of today’s generation and the sins of today.  The religions of today have rejected the ways of their Father in heaven, and do not love the Word of God; yet they are pure in their own eyes; their sins are not washed away by the sacrifice of Christ, for he will reject us until we sincerely repent. (Rev 3:16)

30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father [by rejecting zeal to live by every Word of God the Father], and doth not bless their mother [The Holy Scriptures by which we are to be taught]. 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Oh, how very proud we are of all our supposed understanding and righteousness; when we are neither righteous nor do we truly understand spiritual things to live by them, as we ought to (Rev 3:14-22).

30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

God’s blessings will be withdrawn from us for the multitude of our sins.

30:14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. 30:15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: 30:16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

Those who turn from zeal for the Word of God their heavenly Father and leave off from any  zeal for the practical application of the Holy Scriptures; shall be corrected most strongly in great tribulation.

30:17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

God has made wondrous things beyond the mind of man to understand; why then do we think we know better than our Father in heaven?

30:18 There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not: 30:19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.

As the adulterous woman is not faithful to her husband; so those who are unfaithful to Christ are spiritual adulterers.

30:20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

Agur says here that it is an evil thing for the wicked to rise above the upright; such as when a servant lacking the wisdom of God, rules over his master; or as in men doing their own ways instead of the ways of God their Father in heaven.

When a spiritual fool is made physically rich, so that he justifies his wickedness because of his blessings; he rushes to his own destruction.

It is a disgrace when an unrepentant whore is married, because she will have no loyalty to her husband.  So it is spiritually when a person declares himself for God and then has no zeal to live by every Word of God, but exalts others as his moral authority.

30:21 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear: 30:22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat; 30:23 For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

The wisdom of God is seen in his creation; why then do we seek our own ways?

30:24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: 30:25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; 30:26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; 30:27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; 30:28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.

God the Fountain of Wisdom, has created many great wonders;  why do we reject his wisdom for our own ways.

30:29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going: 30:30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any; 30:31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

If any has done foolishly by exalting himself in pride; let him sincerely repent and humble himself before God, to live by every Word of God the Father.

30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

Surely the proud who exalt themselves; and do not exalt the Eternal, the King of the Universe and sum of all Wisdom; provoke the wrath of God.

30:33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

Proverbs  31

People tend to think of Proverbs as a list of wise sayings and the book is certainly that; it is also much more.

Proverbs is an instruction from a king to his son on how to rule his people in a godly manner. The book is ascribed to Solomon, but the roots of many of the Proverbs may well be in the instructions of David as he taught his son Solomon how to rule as his successor.

The Proverbs were instructions from David for his son, and were expanded greatly by Solomon for his own son and successor; in short Proverbs is godly instructions on how to rule righteously; and as Holy Scripture, Proverbs are instructions from God our Father the Great King of the Universe on how we should live and learn to rule in his Kingdom.

The Proverbs is a list of teachings and instructions inspired by Jesus Christ, the coming King of kings, for those who have been called to him to become kings and priests in his Kingdom!

On another plane the Proverbs are also instructions on how a bride should behave toward her husband, and on a spiritual level: What Christ requires of his called out bride.

We should carefully read the Proverbs and prayerfully think on their meaning, so that we may learn the wisdom of Christ and  how Jesus Christ our baptismal espoused Husband wants us to live.

Each Proverb contains wisdom for our physical lives; which also has spiritual meaning for our spiritual lives.  The book of Proverbs is actually a very powerful condemnation of the Laodicean attitude of lukewarm for God.  Remember Proverbs 1:

Proverbs  1:1  The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

1:4 To give subtilty [wisdom, prudence] to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

The wise person will accept knowledge and not cling to traditional errors as do today’s church leaders; the wise will be continually learning and applying the wisdom of God:  Which is the teachings and commandments of Holy Scripture.

1:5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

All truth has its foundation in genuine sincere respect to learn and to live by every Word of God.  Only spiritual fools despise the Word of God and reject sections of scripture to cling to their false traditions.

1:6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark  [secret, hidden] sayings.

1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

1:8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

1:9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains [of authority]  about thy neck.

Proverbs is filled with wise instruction on how to rule as kings, and on how to live a true godly life as the espoused bride of Christ.  However I do want to focus today on the concluding stand out chapter of Proverbs 31,  that is completely dedicated to godly wifery.

Proverbs 31 gives us a clear explanation of what Jesus Christ requires in a wife; of what Jesus Christ requires of ALL those called out to be a part of his collective bride.

The ancient Rabbinical commentators identified Lemuel with Solomon. The Babylonian Talmud (Tractate Aboth, Chapter 5) says that six names  were given to Solomon: Solomon, Jedidiah, Qoheleth, Ben Iokoh, Agur, and Lemuel.

According to A. Cohen, Proverbs (Hindhead, Surrey: The Soncino Press, 1945), p.  209, Lemuel is another name for Solomon that when translated means “towards  (lemo) God (el).”

Proverbs 31

This is a description of a good wife and each example has its spiritual application; therefore in the spiritual sense this is a description of the kind of bride that Jesus Christ is seeking, and the kind of people that we need to become to be acceptable to Jesus Christ as a part of the bride of the Lamb.

The king begins by writing out what his mother had taught him about how to select a good wife.

31:1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

31:2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my [marriage] vows?

Selfish lust destroys people, especially leaders; for it saps their strength and wealth, and damages their reputations and intellect; as they turn away from the things of God.

A man who spends his inheritance on loose women, the foolishness of gambling, or is given to alcohol or drugs and cigarettes, or any other addiction; shall come to nothing; as his wealth and health are drained off in self damaging behavior.  The same is true of women who must buy everything they see wasting their family finances and are not prudent.

if you want to be a king; you must learn to behave like a godly king.

31:3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

We who are called out to rule and to be a part of the bride are NOT to be given to drink or to be addicted to anything except; the pleasing of God.  That is the only way to faithfully teach God’s ways and set a godly example for the people.

One does not need to be a drunkard to be addicted to wine.  If one cannot get through the day without a drink, a cigarette, or some other addictive thing; then one is a slave to that substance and should STOP!  Our only addiction should be to study and live by every Word of God!

31:4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

31:5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

A little drink to ease the pain of the suffering, or to rejoice at the Feast, or to lift the spirits on rare occasions is proper; but we are not to be drunken nor given to drink or any other addiction.

31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

31:7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

As a ruler, take the part of the defenseless and give godly justice to all

31:8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

The Virtuous Bride

We are in espousal to a spiritual Husband if we accept baptism and take the Passover commitment!  What kind of wife does our LORD want?

A bride who is diligent to study, learn and to live in Christ-like zeal by every Word of God; a bride who is totally dedicated and faithful to him!  a bride who loves him enough to want to become just like him and internalize his very nature.

When Proverbs 31 speaks of selling and sewing, it does not mean that we all must learn to sew;  it is talking about being diligent for her/our spiritual Husband and spiritual family!

First she is totally trustworthy and dedicatedly loyal to her husband.  Loyalty is a virtue beyond any other, for without it, every other virtue has no meaning.  When a wife cannot be trusted, her husband’s house is divided.

Mark 3:24   And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 3:25  And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [value] is far above rubies.

31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

The whole lesson of physical Israel was one of a bad rebellious wife like Vashti, and was recorded to teach us the kind of wife that Jesus Christ DOES NOT want!

Our Lord wants a dedicated wife who will be absolutely loyal and will do him good continually forever!

31:12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

It is important to understand that the following is in the context of that time and place, as well as about a physical marriage as an allegory of the spiritual union of the bride with Christ.

The overall meaning is that a virtuous wife [one called out to Christ as a part of his spiritual bride] will not be lazy or seeking her own pleasures.  She will work diligently to please and help her husband [spiritually Jesus Christ], by studying and learning the Word of God [which is Jesus Christ in print] to internalize his very nature, and to be FULLY ONE MIND with him, and to be an eternal good helper, pleasing him in every way that she can.

This does not mean that to be a part of a virtuous spiritual bride we must work with wool and flax; it DOES mean that we are to work to help our espoused Husband and become like him in every way that we can.

31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

She feeds her family; not refusing to get up to cook and serve because she is lazy:  Spiritually this concerns teaching the Word of God to her children diligently, feeding them with the Wisdom of God.

All those called to be a part of the spiritual bride are to feed our families with the Word of God; so that we will learn to teach, and that our children may learn godliness.  In doing this we prepare to become kings and priests teaching godliness to the nations as a part of the spiritual bride of the Lamb of God.

31:14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat [physical food, an allegory of the spiritual food of the Word of God] to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Not every wife is wealthy enough to buy a field, yet every wife should help and support her husband in every way she can.

This is an allegory about spiritual increase; that with dedicated zealous effort, those called out to become a part of the spiritual bride of Christ, should bring forth much spiritual wealth [fruit]!

Through intense efforts and zeal to learn and apply God’s Word; we are to grow in grace [repentance] and knowledge of the things that please our espoused Husband Jesus Christ so that we may be at ONE with him, as he IS ONE with God the Father!

31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Spiritually speaking buying a vineyard is analogous to bearing much spiritual fruit.

A virtuous spiritual bride of Christ works as hard as she can to let the light of her Husband shine day and night in her example; the called to the wedding of the Lamb work day and night to learn and APPLY the Word of their espoused Husband, and to bear much spiritual fruit.

She works with all her strength to bear much spiritual fruit and to please her Husband at all times.

31:17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

The faithful of God are full of the wealth of the Word and Wisdom of God and shine a continual light of example for all to see.

31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle [lamp, candles were unknown in ancient Israel] goeth not out by night.

31:19 She layeth [she remains at her task without pausing] her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Christ also wants a bride who is forgiving and kind hearted to the sincerely repentant like he is.

Kind hearted, yet diligent for the Word of God; who teaches godliness and strongly rebukes all sin out of love for the sinner that he may repent and be saved.

In tirelessly refusing to tolerate any sin, each called out person helps to keep the whole body HOLY, and covered by the Passover sacrificial blood of the Lamb.

Helping the physically poor is an allegory of the faithful to God providing spiritual food for the spiritually poor.

31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

This speaks spiritually of the called out bride being dressed with righteous character, and the beauty of godliness, being fully prepared for all adversity.

31:22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

The bride’s reputation is well known and her Husband rejoices in her good works.  By the deeds of the espoused bride [preaching and living the true gospel of righteousness] her husband Jesus Christ is made known to the whole world.

A good bride does NOT go around teaching against her espoused Husband who she vowed to love; teaching compromise with her Husband’s teachings and commandments; NO, NO, NO!

Those called to be a part of the spiritual bride, will be resurrected and taken in marriage to the Lamb; based in their loyalty, love and zeal for their Lord.

This is like a man who has several potential mates:  Which one will he choose!  He will choose the one who is most loyal and dedicated to him, the one that he judges will be the most faithful and cooperative; and the best match for his temperament and character.

He will choose the one who’s example is an inspiration to others and whose actions cause his own name to have a GOOD reputation.

No one who brings disrepute and shame on Jesus Christ or God the Father will be chosen to have a part in the resurrection to spirit of the bride!

31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Those called out to be a part of the espoused bride are expected to work HARD to learn and internalize the nature of God the Father and Jesus Christ our espoused Husband. To work hard to become fully like them; to become ONE with them through learning and living by every Word of God, and by seeking day and night to please them in all things.

Fine linen is analogous to righteousness

Revelation 19:8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Proverbs 31:24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

The bride will be  wise in the ways of God and strong to live by every Word of God

31:25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

A virtuous woman is physically diligent for her family and husband.  The spiritually virtuous called out bride is diligent for God, to live by every Word of God.

31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

There have been many good wives; but the bride of Christ should be shining brighter than them all.

31:29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou [the bride of the Lamb]  excellest them all.

Physical things are transitory and therefore deceitful;  it is the things of the spirit, the things of God which really matter, for they shall bring eternal life as the bride of Christ!

31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

The spiritual espoused bride who is faithful, loyal, dedicated; and full to overflowing with love and zeal to live by every Word of God; shall be rewarded for the righteousness of their actions:  shall be resurrected to eternal life as a part of the bride of Christ, and shall be praised as an example of true godliness for all time.

31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Those who teach a false Christ and use the name of Christ to gather followers after themselves; who use the name of Christ and DO NOT DO WHAT CHRIST TEACHES:  Shall reap the reward of the wicked.

Matthew 7:21

7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock [Founded on Jesus Christ the Word of God].

7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand [the shifting sands of the false traditions and doctrines of men]:

7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
