Introduction: Nineveh was the capitol of the Assyrian Empire and this prophecy against Nineveh and Assyria [modern Germany, Austria and Hungary] is for them and the latter day Babylon, the coming New Europe and its leader, called a beast in scripture. As the head controls the whole body so the capital city controls and therefore represents the whole nation. Therefore the prophecy of Nineveh is about all of Assyria, some of which was fulfilled in the past and some of which is to be fulfilled in the near future.
Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences [the occult (spiritualism and witchcraft) and also highly technical things], shall stand up.
8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power [his power will come from fallen spirits and the occult]: and he shall destroy wonderfully [to an awesome degree], and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart [great pride], and by peace [shall attack in a time of peace] shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes [Messiah the Christ when he comes]; but he shall be broken without hand [By Messiah the Christ when he comes (Dan 2)].
The prophecy is about latter day Germany the descendants of Nineveh and Assyria, who will be the chief nation of the New Europe which is the feet of the image of Babylon the Great of Daniel 2.
Assyria is not only Germany but also the nations of Austria and Hungary.
To this day Europeans call Germany Allemagne or some derivative and the Alemanni were the chief tribe of Assyria.
Hungary: Hun-Gary [Hun-Land] is the land given to the Huns by the Romans to keep them out of Rome.
While Germany had its own “king” until after the revolution ending WW 1; the German ruling family was a member of the same family as the kings of Belgium, Holland, Britain and Scandinavia.
The Austro Hungarian [both of whom are also Assyrian] Empire [not the country of Germany] was the Holy Roman Empire, and it is entirely possible that a descendant of that line would be the evil leader of the New Europe referenced by Nahum and referred to in Revelation as the Beast ruling the soon coming federal New Europe.
It is certainly clear that Germany, Austria, Hungary and France will be the core of the New Europe; possibly joined by the overwhelmingly Catholic countries of Italy, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and Portugal.
The prophecy begins with the Might, and Glory of the Eternal; and then chastises the latter day leader of Assyria for his affront against God and God’s people, concluding with God’s response to all of Assyria [Austro Hungary and Germany] as representing the Babylon of the New Europe; for their pride and for their over zealousness in correcting Israel and the called out of God’s people.
In the third year of the correction of Israel this New Europe will go out to attack the nations of Asia who will counterattack destroying the New Europe including the German nations. then Israel shall be delivered by the Almighty.
Isaiah 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
10:13 For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: 10:14 And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
Shall the tool boast against the user? Shall Assyria and Babylon boast against God? Therefore Babylon and Assyria shall also be corrected by Jesus Christ, and the now repentant spiritual and physical Israel and Judah shall be delivered.
10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no [as if it lived and was not wood] wood.
10:16 Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he [Jesus Christ] shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
After the New Europe goes to war against Asia and the armies are gathered for a final show down at Jerusalem; Messiah the Christ shall come with his resurrected saints and destroy all that resist him at the valley of Hinnom.
Daniel 2:33 His [the New European Babylon] legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
The Holy One [Jesus Christ] shall came as a flame of fire to destroy all who resist or pollute the righteousness of the LAW of GOD! Jesus Christ will come with his resurrected chosen and shall destroy both the armies of Asia and the New Europe which are gathered at Jerusalem.
Isaiah 10:17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day; 10:18 And shall consume the glory of his forest [symbolic of armies; the trees being men and all the trees together being a forest or army], and of his fruitful field, both soul [spirit, the false religion] and body [the physical government]: and they shall be as when a standard-bearer fainteth [the standard or flag is the symbol of the national government and when the flag falls it is indicative that the government has fallen].
The men of Europe and Asia who survive and remain at Jerusalem shall be so small in number that a child could count them.
10:19 And the rest of the trees [representative of people] of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them [a very small number, almost as if a child could list their names].
10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him [serve Babylon and Assyria] that smote them; but shall stay [bow before, serve and obey] and upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
This is after the resurrection of the repentant, zealous and chosen; and in the Kingdom of God when all flesh shall repent and God’s Spirit shall be poured out on all flesh (Joel 2:28).
10:21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
The correction of Christ for spiritual Israel shall result in contrite repentance in tribulation, and the correction of Christ on physical Israel shall turn the people to God; God’s correction shall bring an overflowing of repentance and righteous zeal for the Holy Commandments of the Father and the Son!
A remnant of physical Israel and Judah shall be left and they SHALL return to the Word of their God!
Nahum 1:1 The burden of Nineveh [The capitol representing all of Assyria (the Austro Hungarian German people) and their descendants]. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
A warning against those who would attack the called out of God; those called out of physical Egypt or those called out of spiritual Egypt.
1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
The latter day Germanic nation’s leading the New Europe will do the will of God in correcting us for our wickedness, but will then be lifted up with pride thinking that they had done this by their own wisdom and strength. They will overdo and take pleasure in the correction of God’s people, and being full of sin themselves will then be corrected by the nations of Asia.
The Eternal is Mighty and we would do well to quickly and sincerely repent before him, for he will correct all the wicked.
1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
1:4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
As the LORD is strong to rebuke and correct the wicked; he is also Mighty to save his faithful who live by his EVERY WORD!
1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Those who put their trust in God and faithfully keep all of his commandments without compromise will never be disappointed by his love, mercy and ultimate deliverance; those who are against him and his beloved will certainly feel his wrath.
1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
God will not allow the New Europe to make an utter and full end of physical and spiritual Israel! No not at all! God will bring us to sincere repentance for our idolatries and the Almighty will then deliver those who turn to HIM!
1:9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? [do you imagine that God will permit you (the New Europe) to totally destroy the nations of Israel?] he will make an utter end: [God will make an end of affliction. No God will deliver his people once they have been humbled to contrition and will never again afflict them to this degree] affliction shall not rise up the second time.
While the New Europe is rich and satisfied and full of prosperity, drunken with pride; in the third year they shall be devoured like dry stubble by the armies of Asia.
Daniel 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
Nahum 1:10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken [with pride] as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
1:11 There is one come out of thee [a ruler will yet rise up out of Assyria, the Germanic peoples; possibly an Austro Hungarian], that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
A wicked leader who despises God’s Word and is deeply into the occult will rise up to rule the New Europe and shall conquer Israel/Judah and many other nations.
1:12 Thus saith the LORD; Though they [physical and spiritual Israel / Judah] be quiet [at peace], and likewise many [though they be very strong] yet thus shall they be cut down, when he [this wicked leader of the New Europe] shall pass through [correct Israel/ Judah and many nations]. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more. [God promises us that when we have been humbled and are sincerely repentant he will deliver us]
Once we are humbled to contrition and sincerely repentant the yoke of this oppressor will be broken.
1:13 For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
The judgment of this wicked political leader; is that he shall be destroyed along with his idols.
Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Nahum 1:14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
The Eternal will cut off this political leader and the final false prophet and his false religion and will destroy them. Then peace shall be published with the destruction of wickedness; and the nations shall observe the Solemn Feasts of the LORD in Jerusalem with Judah.
1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
The Asian armies are come up against Assyria [the head of the New Europe] because the correction of Israel is completed and at an end. Now it s Assyria’s turn to be corrected for their witchcrafts [occult spiritism] and great pride. The armies of Asia shall surround Jerusalem where this wicked leader has taken refuge with his religious leader.
The destruction of Nineveh as a type of the defeat of Assyrian (the New Europe) at Jerusalem.
Nahum 2:1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.
God has used the new Europe to correct Israel and many countries and now it is the turn of Assyria and the New Europe to be corrected.
2:2 For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
The armies of Asia shall attack Jerusalem where the last army of the new Europe is entrenched and half the city shall be taken, Zechariah 14. Blood will flow greatly in this battle.
2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red [with blood], the valiant men are in scarlet [covered in blood] : the chariots [vehicles] shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees [mighty men] shall be terribly shaken.
2:4 The chariots [modern military vehicles] shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
These things give us the reason behind Jonah’s hatred of Nineveh [Assyria], yet Jonah was forced to act out an allegorical prophecy that after the coming of Christ, the Word of God will go even to Nineveh [the Assyrians] and they will repent just like the ancient city did.
2:5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
2:6 The gates of the rivers [a type of the latter day armies of Asian flowing to Jerusalem] shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
2:7 And Huzzab [meaning “established” and refers to the Assyrian army] shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts [in mourning].
2:8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
The armies of the oppressors will be commanded to stand and fight, but they shall all flee away from the Asian armies. Then Messiah shall come and destroy the armies who resist him to deliver Judah. Then Judah shall flee by the Mount of Olives while their men rise up against the enemy within the city and take a great spoil.
2:9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
Despoil your oppressors and empty them of their good things for God is against them.
2:10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
2:11 Where is the dwelling of the lions [the mighty men who devoured Israel / Judah shall be destroyed], and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion’s whelp, and none made them afraid?
2:12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
2:13 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions [mighty men]: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
Judgment on Nineveh the capital of Assyria [Austria Hungary Germany being the head of the coming New Europe]. As the head represents the whole body the Capital represents the whole nation.
Nahum 3:1 Woe to the bloody city [Nineveh the capital of Assyria is a type of the soon coming New Europe]! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not [The new Europe takes the prey and spoils of many nations];
3:2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.
The Assyrian and his empire has killed, torn and devoured like a lion, therefore the sword of the Eternal shall correct him.
3:3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
The leader of the soon coming New Europe will be deep into the occult along with the false prophet.
3:4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
3:5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness [the wickedness will be revealed], and the kingdoms thy shame.
God corrects all the wicked in his own time.
3:6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.
3:7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
3:8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
3:9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
3:10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
3:11 Thou also shalt be drunken [with pride]: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength [seek help] because of the enemy.
3:12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
3:13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are [become like helpless] women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
3:14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln [to build defenses].
3:15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
3:16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and fleeth away.
3:17 Thy crowned are as the locusts [in numbers], and thy captains [are as many as the grasshoppers] as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
3:18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
3:19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands [in rejoicing at thy fall] over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually [for who has not suffered at your hands?]?
