Jeremiah means “YHVH Exalts.”
Jeremiah’s ministry began in the thirteenth year of Josiah, king of Judah, c626 BC, and lasted until after the fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of Solomon’s Temple in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C. and the flight of Johanan to Egypt. This period spanned the reigns of five kings of Judah: Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoichin, and Zedekiah.
Jeremiah is traditionally credited with authoring the Book of Jeremiah, 1 Kings, 2 Kings and the Book of Lamentations and was the son of Hilkiah, a kohen (priest).
Jeremiah was living at that time and was speaking to Judah directly at that time, because Israel had already been taken away [references to Israel were a reference to Judah as a part of Israel, as an allegory of latter day Israel].
This was a direct and immediate warning from God to those people at that time, that Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar would destroy Judah as a nation for their wickedness at that time.
Nevertheless this is definitely a dual warning for us in our day, because God is consistent and if we commit the same sins [which we are committing today] we will also be corrected.
God was warning Judah through Jeremiah about their sins in that day, and about the correction which did come upon them at that time; but the whole circumstance of that time was an allegory of the latter day as well.
This was recorded and preserved as an example for us, that because we – both physical and spiritual Israel today – are full of the same sins, we shall surely be similarly corrected.
The book of Jeremiah is divided into two main sections, the first being warnings and prophecies about the fall of Jerusalem and Judah including explanations of their sins and why they are being corrected, and second, Jeremiah 47 to 51 contains prophecies concerning the other regional nations and the rise and fall of Babylon, beginning with the defeat of Egypt on the Euphrates.
The Jeremiah 47 to 51 prophecies were actually made along with the other prophecies beginning with king Josiah and continued concurrently with the messages to Judah, but have been placed together near the end of the book.
Judah was paying tribute to Assyria, but after the death of Ashurbanipal of Assyria (in 627 BC), the Assyrian empire began to slowly disintegrate and ultimately entered into an alliance with Egypt only to be totally defeated by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon at the battle of Carchemish in 605 B.C.
After the defeat of Egypt and Assyria at Carchemish in 605 B.C., Nebuchadnezzar took Daniel and certain others to Babylon about 604 B.C.
Later in c 598 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon removed Jehioakin [Jeconiah] from the throne of Judah and replaced him with Zedekiah his brother. This event indicates that Babylon had replaced Egypt as the regional power.
Ezekiel was taken to Babylon at the removal of king Jehioachin [Jeconiah] c 598 B.C. Josephus claims that three thousand leading Jews were removed to Babylon with king Jehioachin [Jeconiah].
King Josiah became king at the age of thirteen and began a religious reform in Judah in about 622 B.C. under the regency of the high priest, and Jeremiah was called to prophesy at that same time.
On Josiah’s death, Jehoiakim’s younger brother Jehoahaz (or Shallum) was proclaimed king. Pharaoh Necho II then deposed the younger brother Jehoahaz after a reign of only three months and took him to Egypt, where he died.
The eldest son Eliakim adopted the regal name Jehoiakim when he was installed by Egypt as king of Judah in c 608 B.C., and became king at the age of twenty-five and reigned for eleven years to 598 B.C. before being killed by Nebuchadnezzar in the first big siege of Jerusalem c 597 B.C.
Eliakim had abandoned his alliance with Egypt due to the prohibitive demands of the Egyptians and joined with Babylon, but after three years Jehoichim [Eliakim] switched back to the Egyptians and ceased paying the tribute to Babylon. Then in 599 BC, Nebuchadnezzar II invaded Judah and laid siege to Jerusalem.
Jehoiakim [Eliakim] ruled originally as a vassal of the Egyptians, paying a heavy tribute. To raise the money he “taxed the land and exacted the silver and gold from the people of the land according to their assessments.” He was succeeded by his son Jeconiah, (also known as Jehoiachin), who reigned for only three months.
The book of Jeremiah begins with the introduction in chapter 1 and is properly followed by a prophecy – placed out of its proper sequence in Jeremiah 46 – about the impending defeat of Egypt at the battle of Carchemish on the Euphrates in c 605 B.C. and the subsequent fall of the surrounding nations to Babylon.
These prophecies of the regional nations continued through the same period as the prophecies regarding Judah until the prophecy regarding Elam was made in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C. (Jer 49:34) when Jerusalem and the temple were burned. Then comes a prophecy about Babylon itself and the conclusion of the book.
The Order of Jeremiah
- Chapters 1 – 29, warn Judah and gave them the reasons for their impending correction. The book should begin with Jeremiah 46 but that prophecy is placed in Chapter 46 instead of chapter 1.
- Chapters 30 -33 gives the promise of restoration and a New Covenant [which will begin in its fullness at the coming of Christ].
- Chapters 34 to 45 concern Zedekiah and the fall of Jerusalem and Judea.
- Chapter 46 rightly belongs at the beginning of Jeremiah and refers to the initial defeat of Egypt and Assyria at the battle of Carchemish on the Euphrates in 605 B.C.
- Chapters 47 to 51 tell of the destruction of the local nations as Nebuchadnezzar goes down to fight Egypt after Johanan flees there, and finally a prophecy about Babylon itself.
- Chapter 52 is a summation about the fall of Jerusalem and the flight of Johanan into Egypt of Jeremiah chapters 34 – 45 and 2 Kings 24:18-25:1-30.
The Battle of Carchemish was fought about 605 B.C. between the allied armies of Egypt and Assyria against the armies of Babylon, allied with the Medes, Persians and Scythians. The Egyptians and Assyrians were routed by the Babylonians at the Battle of Carchemish on the Euphrates and the rising Babylonians slowly gained control of the region in competition with the Egyptians as the Assyrian Empire expired.
When the Egyptians were defeated by the Babylonians at Carchemish in 605 B.C., Jehoiakim changed allegiances from Egypt to pay tribute to Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon and sent various people including Daniel to Babylon.
The Babylonians moved into the Philistine plain the next year and devastated Ashkelon as well as causing great anxiety in Jerusalem. Jeremiah took advantage of the situation to preach his “Temple Sermon” (ch. 26).
After three years, with the Egyptians and Babylonians still competing for dominance, Jehoichim switched back to the Egyptians and ceased paying the tribute to Babylon. In 599 BC, Nebuchadnezzar II invaded Judah and laid siege to Jerusalem.
In c 598 BC, Jehoiakim died and his body was thrown off of the walls. He was succeeded by his son Jeconiah (also known as Jehoiachin), Jerusalem fell within three months. Jeconiah was then deposed by Nebuchadnezzar, who installed Zedekiah, Jehoiakim’s younger brother, in his place.
On March 15/16th, 597 BC, Jeconiah, his entire household and three thousand Jews [including Ezekiel], were exiled to Babylon. Ezekiel saw his first vision five years later in c 592 B.C.
Ezekiel 1:2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity, 1:3 The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans.
Nebuchadnezzar removed Daniel and certain others in 605 B.C., later capturing Jerusalem in 597 B.C. and deposing King Jehoiakim making Zedekiah king.
Then ten years later in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C., due to rebellion by king Zedekiah who was placed on the throne by Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylonian king destroyed both the city and the temple, and deported many of the prominent citizens along with a sizable portion of the Jewish population of Judea to Babylon, leaving the country folk to till the land.
These events are described in the Prophets and History sections of the Bible (in the books 2 Kings, Jeremiah, and 2 Chronicles, respectively).
After destroying Jerusalem and the temple in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar engaged in a thirteen-year siege of Tyre (585–572 BC) which ended in a compromise, with the Tyrians accepting Babylonian authority.
Following the pacification of the Phoenician state of Tyre, Nebuchadnezzar turned again to Egypt. A clay tablet, now in the British Museum, states: “In the 37th year of Nebuchadnezzar [c 568 B.C.], king of the country of Babylon, he went to Mitzraim (Egypt) [with an army of Persians and Babylonians] to wage war.
The city of Jerusalem and the temple were burned on the 9th of Av [fifth month] in c 587 B.C. for which event the Book of Lamentations was written. Some time after that the remaining Jews rebelled against God and went down into Egypt.
Jeremiah was based in Judea before during and after the fall of Jerusalem, and remained with the Jews who were left in Palestine, accompanying them when they later went down to Egypt.
Jeremiah was called to strengthen the reformations of Josiah (2 Kings 21 to 23, 1 Chronicles 3:14-15, 2 Chronicles 33:25 to 35:22) within the first year of Josiah being made king of Judah c626 B.C.); and to prophesy of the fall of Judah and Jerusalem because of wickedness under the subsequent kings of Judah until after the fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of Solomon’s Temple in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C.
These prophecies were mainly fulfilled by Nebuchadnezzar as an initial fulfillment of a later day final fulfillment is our time when Babylon the Great [the now rising New Federal Europe] will once again take Jerusalem, this time occupying the city for 42 months (Rev 11:2, 13:5).
Jeremiah’s ministry was active from the thirteenth year of Josiah, king of Judah c626 B.C., until after the fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of Solomon’s Temple in 587 B.C. This period was largely alongside Isaiah and Ezekiel and spanned the reigns of five kings of Judah: Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and Zedekiah.
The Hebrew-language chronology Seder HaDoroth (published 1768) gives Jeremiah’s final year of prophecy in 595 B.C. after which he died in Egypt. Nebuchadnezzar then attacked Egypt in c 568 B.C. sweeping through Moab, Ammon, Edom and Gaza on his way and destroying the Jews who had fled into Egypt.
Ekklesia: Often mistranslated as “Church” giving the thought of a corporate organization or a building, the word Ekklesia actually means a group or meeting, and in spiritual terms means those faithful believers in whom God’s Spirit dwells.
YHVH or YHWH: means “The Eternal” and refers to both God the Father and to the one who gave up his Godhood to become flesh as Jesus Christ; both being eternal.
Jeremiah is prophesying to ancient Judah, however the prophecy is also applicable to all those of today who are guilty of the same sins. Jeremiah also addresses many prophecies to the “Daughter of my people” which term refers to their latter day descendants, in both the physical and spiritual sense; meaning that the prophecies particularly refer to the latter day physical and spiritual [New Covenant] Israel.
Jeremiah receives his prophetic calling
Jeremiah 1:1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin: 1:2 To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. 1:3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
God tells Jeremiah that he was called from the womb to be God’s prophet. I believe that God chooses his own prophets and servants at a very early stage and then trains them through guiding their life experiences [often without their knowledge] to mold them into exactly the proper tools to proclaim God’s will.
1:4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Jeremiah objects, feeling inadequate, somewhat like Moses.
The true servants of God are often poor speakers like Jeremiah, Moses and Paul and they are often physically weak, poor and of no reputation among the brethren. God does that for a purpose; so that when the work is done, people will know that it was not the work of a man, but the work of the Spirit of God.
Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
Jeremiah 1:6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
Jesus Christ does not accept excuses and he is quite able to use even the reluctant if they are otherwise zealous for him, as Moses, Paul and Jonah discovered!
1:7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. 1:8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
The godly person speaks the Word of God the Father as Jesus did; Christ did not speak his own words, he spoke as God the Father instructed him; and so do all the true servants of Christ and God the Father. The person who speaks his own words and not the whole Word of God, is NOT a servant of God the Father or of Christ.
1:9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
The man of God is commissioned to root out wickedness and to teach the righteousness of the whole Word of God.
1:10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
These things happened to Judah and were recorded as an example for US. The rod of correction is coming upon us, just as surely as it came upon ancient Judah; IF we commit the same sins [which we are most definitely doing today].
1:11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree [a rod of correction]. 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
Jeremiah is told that great evil [suffering and affliction] would come upon Judah from the north. In reality Babylon was rising and God would allow Nebuchadnezzar to take Judea, destroy Jerusalem and conquer Egypt.
A latter revival of Babylon is now at the door, coming in the form of a ten nation New Europe [Babylon the Great, the ten toes of Dan 2], and that soon coming system will also conquer Judah and dominate Egypt and occupy Jerusalem for the last time.
1:13 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north. 1:14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
These events occurred in those days, as a fore-type of the latter day Babylon now rising in Europe.
1:15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
Why did Judah go into the Babylonian captivity? Because of sin.
Is God a respecter of persons that he should show partiality to rebellious children?
If Christ corrected sinful Judah which did not have God’s Spirit; how much greater will he correct us who are supposed to know better?
Those who have forsaken living by every Word of God for their own false traditions and the idolizing of men and organizations will be afflicted in great tribulation, until they are humbled of their great arrogant pride and sincerely repent, turning to learning and living by the whole Word of God in enthusiastic zeal.
1:16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
Jeremiah is told to fear God and not man; and to be full of good courage to speak the truth to those claiming to be in authority in the church of God of the time.
1:17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
The godly person who dares to take a stand for the righteousness of the whole Word of God; will have the full backing of the Mighty One who delivered Israel his called out from Egypt.
The lukewarm to live by every Word of God leaders and elders of the latter day Ekklesia, who are zealous for their own false ways and traditions will not heed the warnings.
The major groups have studied the Biblical Calendar and the Sanctity of the Sabbath etc; and they know that they are wrong! Yet they cling to error instead of growing in knowledge excusing themselves by saying; “The church said this and this is what we will stand on.”
God the Father and Jesus Christ are with all those who are zealous to live by every Word of God! They are with their servants who faithfully declare their Word.
1:18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
1:19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
Jeremiah begins to prophesy against Jerusalem the capital of Judah. This prophecy is about the conditions in Judah at that time and why God will bring Nebuchadnezzar to destroy the city and temple and take most of the Jews to Babylon.
The prophecies of Jeremiah are very much to and about Judah of that time, and are in turn an allegory of this latter day when the very same sins are being committed in Judah, Israel and spiritual Israel. God is consistent and as he corrected ancient Israel and later corrected Judah; God will also correct the latter day physical and spiritual Israel and Judah when we commit the same sins
Ancient physical Israel and Judah turned aside from God to follow every false way just as today’s Ekklesia is doing on a spiritual level.
When the brethren were called to God the Father and Jesus Christ and had our minds opened to his marvelous truth; we were delighted, excited and filled with zeal to learn and to live by every Word of God and Jesus Christ; then somewhere along the way most were deceived into losing our zeal God the Father and becoming zealous for some man or corporate idol to follow them in away from God in spiritual adultery.
Let us remember the love of our initial calling to God and espousal to Christ, and stop following after other lovers. Let us stand on the whole Word of God and reject the false traditions of men like the Rabbinic Calendar finalized in 1178 A.D. by Christ rejecting apostates.
How is it that we think that we are pleasing Christ by following idols of men?
Jeremiah 2:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2:2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
All who attack the holy people who live by every Word of God and all who persecute those zealous for the whole Word of God are offensive to God the Father and Jesus Christ.
2:3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD [until they went astray].
Why have we departed from God to follow others?
2:4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel: 2:5 Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
Why have we forgotten the mighty deeds of our God to deliver His people, first from bondage in Egypt and then spiritually from bondage to Satan, sin and death?
2:6 Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
We will be rejected from the resurrection to the Promised Land of eternity, if we will not learn to live by every Word of God.
We have been offered the Bread of Life and the Waters of Salvation; and we have defiled ourselves by turning up our noses at the Word of God to follow the false ways of our idols of men and organizations.
2:7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
Those who defile the brethren by not teaching a passionate enthusiastic zeal to live by every Word of God, are spiritually blind, and do not understand because they WILL NOT obey and live by every Word of God.
2:8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
Jesus Christ will plead with his people and in a very short time we will be corrected by him if we do not sincerely repent first.
2:9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.
Christ asks of Judah: Do other nations change their gods; why have you departed from me.
In our time Babylon is coming again in the form of the New Europe and our God might well ask BOTH spiritual and physical Israel today; “Why have you departed from me” to follow the idols of your false traditions?
2:10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing. 2:11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. 2:12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
We have forsaken the spring of living waters [the Spirit of God, John 4] and we have followed our idols of men and false traditions in an attempt to save ourselves by doing what we think is right instead of doing what GOD says is right.
John 7:37 In the last day, that great day [the seventh day of tabernacles The Hoshana Rabbah; The Great Salvation: The seventh and last day of The Feast of Tabernacles] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:
Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
The lions [mighty ones] of the Gentiles will break physical and spiritual Israel again, because we will not serve our Mighty One and we have departed from his teachings and commandments to do what is right in our own eyes.
2:14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled? 2:15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
Those who trust in a spiritual Egypt of your own devising, will be broken for trusting in the strength of men and not in the power of God.
2:16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes [Egypt] have broken the crown of thy head.
We have brought our correction upon ourselves; by idolizing men, organizations and false traditions above the Word of God.
2:17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?
And now we drink the waters [words] of men and not the Living Waters of the Word of God. The next line says that we have preferred the waters [false teachings of spiritual Egypt and spiritual Assyria/Babylon] to the waters [teachings] of the Word of God. We prefer to do as we think is right, instead of learning and doing what God says is right.
Preeminent among our heresies is the Babylonian Mystery Nicolaitane teachings on governance and having layers of men between the brethren and God.
2:18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor [the Nile]? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river [Euphrates]?
Because we have no respect for the Word of God and depart from or compromise with God’s Word to cleave to our traditions; we will now be quickly corrected.
2:19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
In the beginning conversion of every called out person, Jesus Christ broke the yoke of sin and delivered every sincerely repentant person from bondage to Satan, sin and death; and after we were delivered, many have turned back into the bondage of spiritual Egypt, bondage to sin; to commit spiritual adultery with idols of men, false traditions and corporate organizations.
2:20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress [I repent]; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot [becoming one with strange gods].
How has the goodly seed [the called out brethren] planted by God, become degenerate and full of sin?
2:21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me? 2:22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
How can we say that the COG groups are the people of God; when we will not keep the Word of God?
We have been like WILD camels and asses; going wherever we willed, instead of being like the domestic animals who follow their master.
2:23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways; 2:24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month [wanderings] they shall find her.
Christ warned us to repent and become shod with righteousness of the whole Word of God, and drink our fill of the Living Waters of the whole Word of God. But we will not repent and we will therefore be corrected.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Our persecutors are not really those people who are abusing us. They are the spiritual forces that are influencing the people and inspiring them to do these things that are the true source of all our trials.
When we are being persecuted we are to stand firm on the whole Word of God throughout all our trials. Then we will stand in the resurrection before the throne of God.
God’s Word is truth and we are to gird ourselves with the whole Word of God and clothe ourselves with righteousness; which is the zealous keeping of the truth, the whole Word of God!
6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Having our feet shod with the gospel of peace, refers to being at peace with God and refers to our walk [life] in the gospel of salvation; which is FAITH, to believe God and to believe that God can and will keep his promises to his faithful. It is salvation by sincere repentance, a baptismal commitment to sin no more and the application of the sacrifice of Christ justifying us; and then living our lives by every Word of God and being at peace with God the Father always.
6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
The Gospel is the good news of the way to have reconciliation and peace with GOD the FATHER!
The Gospel is about sincere repentance, a commitment to sin no more and the application of the atoning sacrifice of the Lamb of God reconciling us with God the Father; and it is about unity with God by continuing in that relationship, through a diligent rejection of sin [which separates us from God, and a passionate uncompromising keeping of the whole Word and will of God! Which is the foundation of peace and unity between man and God and true unity among men!
If we know and trust and believe in God to live by God’s Word, he will defend us and take care of us with His great power. And, if He allows us to suffer so that we might learn something, he will raise us up from the grave on that day and change us to spirit and we will never taste of death again, but shall have eternal life and a reward, given by God.
6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, [that is, with a whole heart, with all our heart and spirit; and with intensity] and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Take the helmet of salvation and valiantly wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the whole Word of God. God’s Spirit gives us understanding of the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures. And, the Holy Scriptures are the sword of truth with which we fight sin. We are to fight sin in ourselves in this world, and we are to fight evil with the sword of truth and not with bloodshed.
Only evil needs to fear the sharp two edged sword of the LIGHT of Truth! For the Light of truth exposes the wicked things hidden in darkness; and the sharp two edged sword of God’s Word destroys all that is evil from before him.
The workers of evil deeds try to hide them in darkness and obscurity, and they HATE being exposed by the light of truth!
The truly godly brethren will welcome the Light of the Truth; for they are the children of the Light: While the wicked will hate the Light of the Truth for it exposes their sins.
God calls on us to sincerely repent and follow God, but many say “not so, for we are right in our own eyes” and so justify themselves like Job did.
Jeremiah 2:25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers [false teachers and false ways], and after them will I go.
We fear men and we are ashamed of the Word of God, to proclaim it, to keep it and to tell the people their sins (Isaiah 58:1); and we have turned our backs on Jesus Christ and the Word of God to follow our idols of men and false traditions. Yet in our correction we will call upon Christ to deliver us.
2:26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets. 2:27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
Can our corporate entities or idols of men and false traditions of men save us? Will some man rise from his grave to save us? Can our false teachers who separate us from Christ; save us? Will our pagan calendar and Sabbath pollution save us?
2:28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
Why seek deliverance from Jesus Christ and pray to God the Father, and then refuse to learn and live by every Word of God?
2:29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD.
Small corrections and warnings have been in vain for we will not repent; therefore a truly major correction is at the door.
2:30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
We say that we are spiritually rich and increased with spiritual knowledge and we declare ourselves to be God’s people, and then we trust in our own judgment and our own thoughts and words.
2:31 O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
We have forgotten to learn and to live by every Word of God; and we have turned to our own ways; wrongly equating the words of men as equal to or above the Word of God.
2:32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
Why do we seek and love to follow corporate idols and false traditions? Why do we not seek the love of our espoused Husband? Why do we do wickedly and set a wicked example and teach others to sin like ourselves, by insisting that they obey us instead of living by every Word of God?
Loyalty to us, we deceitfully claim, is the same as loyalty to God.
2:33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
The leaders and elders are covered with the blood of the innocents, that they have deceived away from the Word of God into serving themselves.
2:34 Also in thy skirts [cloak] is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
As these leaders insist on their own false ways, they are self righteous and claim to be innocent of sin; being spiritually blind in their pride (Rev 3:16-18).
2:35 Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead [correct you] with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
Why do we trust to follow worldliness and refuse to sincerely repent and trust in the Great God? In the end, after our correction and sincere repentance; these folks will be ashamed of how they have acted.
2:36 Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
The elders, leaders and teachers who lean to the their own ways and the false traditions of men, shall not proper in their idolatries and false traditions, and in their rejection of living by every Word of God.
We shall be corrected and the false idols and ways that we are trusting in will be utterly destroyed so that we in contrite shame and sincere repentance may be reconciled to our LORD.
2:37 Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy [wicked] confidences [plans], and thou shalt not prosper in them.
Jeremiah and Ezekiel are very hard on the sins of Israel, which is doubly applicable to those who claim to have the Holy Spirit and to be spiritually rich and full of [self] righteousness, knowing everything and needing nothing. They will not even listen to the Word of God, except it be twisted by the false traditions of men. That is today’s spiritual Ekklesia; believe it: Jesus Christ said so in Revelation 3:16-22.
The ONLY reason for recording these things; is for OUR instruction!
1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
As physical Mosaic Israel and Judah often departed from God, so today’s spiritual Ekklesia are also full of idolatry and spiritual adulteries against their God. Return unto me says God the Father to his called out, who have departed from Him and departed from the Husband of their espousal into many spiritual adulteries.
Jeremiah 3:1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
We tolerate false teachings and we love to follow idols of men, making them into little tin gods for ourselves. We follow others instead of being faithful to our God and the Husband to whom we were called.
3:2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
We delight in the sin of living by our own ways and the ways of our idols of the false traditions of men, cleaving to them in spiritual adultery instead of faithfully living by every Word of God; therefore the physical rain will be withheld as a type of the withholding of the showers of God’s Spirit from us.
Our sin is so much the greater because we have no shame and we are proud of our organizations and factions and traditions of men; which we love much more than we love God and the Word of God.
3:3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
We are admonished to repent and call on God our Father in heaven; for his anger will not be held back forever. He will correct us for all our departures from His Word to follow the traditions of our idols of men.
3:4 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth? 3:5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
Have the brethren not heard or read the history of Israel and Judah; will we not take it to hear,t that we will also be corrected for our falling away from living by every Word of God?
3:6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot [This is not about physical adulteries; it is about the spiritual adultery of following after other gods.].
Yet we will not repent of being zealous for our false ways, while being cold for the ways of God. Judah also turned away from God, even though she saw how that Israel had been removed from the land into captivity for the same sins of exalting others above the Eternal.
3:7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
We know that sinful Israel and Judah were corrected for their sinfulness in the ancient past; yet today we have not learned from that, nor do fear to provoke the Eternal by our turning against a righteous zeal to live by Every Word of God.
Ancient Judah did not fear God when she knew that God had put Israel away; and in this latter day, we do not fear God’s correction either, even though we know these things.
3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
Today, the brethren commit spiritual adultery with false gods of men; false traditions, false doctrines, and corporate entities. We treat our whoredoms as a light thing and claim to be godly as we trample all over the Word of God by clinging to our idols of men.
3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness [lack of shame] of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with [idols made of stone and wood] stones and with stocks [Just as we commit spiritual adultery by following men away from any zeal to live by every Word of God today.].
Today we feign godliness as we do what is right in our own eyes.
3:10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
Israel was removed from Samaria for her idolatry and spiritual adultery with false gods, but Judah was worse because she saw what happened to Israel and still committed the same sins.
Today’s Ekklesia is even worse than both of them were in the ancient times, because we are supposed to have and follow God’s Holy Spirit as well as now having the example of God correcting BOTH Israel AND Judah, yet we are still full of the same sins.
3:11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
Christ asks for our sincere repentance and return to the whole Word of God and promises mercy; yet God also promises harsh correction on the unrepentant.
3:12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. 3:13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
Here it is plainly stated that the Mosaic Covenant was a marriage covenant, as the New Covenant is also a new marriage covenant.
In our day the Eternal calls physical and spiritual Israel to sincere repentance and says that only a very few will survive the correction of the unrepentant.
3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
God says that he will give the survivors good shepherds [the resurrected chosen], who will feed the people with the whole Word of God. Messiah the Christ will give the millennial nations pastors after his own heart! Who is the man after the heart of God; he who loves and lives by every Word of God? Read Psalm 119.
The shepherds who are NOT people after God’s own heart, who are not zealous for the whole Word of God; will not be in the resurrection to eternal life.
3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
In the millennial kingdom when all the people are filled with the Spirit of God (Joel 2:28) they shall all enter the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31.
3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
Those who teach laxity for the sanctity of the Sabbath, or compromise with the Word of God, or who refuse to rebuke sin; and say to the brethren that they should do things because some man said so; making idols of men and organizations and standing on their own ways: SHALL NOT BE TEACHERS IN THE KINGDOM.
They are not qualified to teach the truth which they have rejected and refused in this life.
3:17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
When Christ comes, the breach between Israel and Judah shall be healed, and they shall become one people again and shall flow back to the land of promise.
3:18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
How shall this be done? Through the sincere repentance of the people, who will turn to their God and call him their Father.
3:19 But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me [ever again].
Physical Israel was married to the one who gave up his Godhood to become flesh, Jesus Christ; and like a treacherous wife she turned away from him; now the Laodicean Ekklesia have done the very same thing in not living by every Word of God and preferring to follow our idols of men.
3:20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
The voice of affliction shall be heard among us; for our departure from God the Father and Christ to love the corporate church: ABOVE the whole Word of God.
Yes, we are full of love for our factions and corporate organizations and its traditions and idols of men; WHERE is our LOVE for the Word of God? Do not deceive yourselves; corporate love and loyalty is NOT the same as love and loyalty to live by every Word of God.
This is the crux of our sin; we have made a god out of corporations, men and unscriptural traditions, and we have deceived ourselves into thinking that obeying and following men and corporations is the same as following God. It is NOT!
Satan has sowed false leaders and we blindly followed them away for God our Father in heaven and his teachings, instructions and commandments.
God now reveals that in the hour of our correction, we will sincerely repent and turn to Him
3:21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.
God continually knocks at our door calling on us to repent and return to him. Finally we shall heed him and Laodicea shall be saved as well as repentant physical Israel and repentant humanity.
3:22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.
Let us run to the refuge of our God, we shall find safety and life eternal in his arms.
3:23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills [Psalm 121, there is no hope of deliverance by men], and from the multitude of mountains [hills and mountains are figurative of governments, can strong governments of men save the wicked from the correction of God, can they resurrect the dead?]: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
We are disgraced because of our shameful departure from our espoused spiritual Husband.
3:24 For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
What is our sin? We have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God as revealed in the whole Word of God! We have turned aside to follow men and have not proved out all things by the every Word of God!
Our HEAD is God the Father and Jesus Christ who taught us to live by every Word of God the Father; we are to prove all things and hold fast that which is good according to the Word of God, while rejecting any teaching or action that is not consistent with the whole Word of God.
3:25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.
When physical Israel and Judah repent at the coming of Messiah the Christ, they will again be planted in Palestine and shall remain on their land as long as they are faithful to God.
If the called out to a kind of spiritual Israel of the New Covenant sincerely repent and turn to their God, with all their hearts; in a revival of restoring the righteousness of living by every Word of God: They will have a part in the resurrection to spirit of the Chosen and shall receive eternal life.
The unrepentant shall be corrected and if they still will not repent; they shall be rejected.
Jeremiah 4:1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove. 4:2 And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
Sow the seed of righteousness by keeping the whole Word of God.
4:3 For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
Let us circumcise our hearts by sincere repentance, removing the barrier of sin that separates us from sensitivity to and living by every Word of God.
4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
Let the unrepentant protect themselves if they can; for the Lord is bringing imminent correction on physical and spiritual Israel. Our ONLY defense is sincere repentance and running to the arms of our Mighty God.
As Judah and Jerusalem could not defend themselves in those days because God was against them for all their unrepentant wickedness, so it is in our day
4:5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities. 4:6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I [God] will bring evil [destruction] from the north, and a great destruction.
As the great destroyer of Jerusalem and Judah, Babylon the Great came and destroyed Jerusalem in those days; Today a New Babylon the Great is rising again and will again come against the wicked of physical and spiritual Judah; and this time Israel shall fall with them (Hosea 5:5).
4:7 The lion [Nebuchadnezzar in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C.; and now the final King of the North, Babylon the Great of the rising New Europe] is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the [The Gentile destroyer conqueror] Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
Repent in the bitterness of deep sorrow, for the anger of God the Father and Jesus Christ is coming upon BOTH physical and spiritual Israel; including the spiritual Ekklesia of today who have turned away from zeal for the God of their salvation; for which cause they will be rejected out of the body of Christ into strong correction (Rev 5:15).
4:8 For this gird you with sackcloth [mourning and humility], lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
Just as the religious leaders were astonished when Jerusalem fell and the temple was burned in c 587 B.C. When our own latter day correction comes, our ministry and would be prophets will be astonished and astounded that they were absolutely wrong. Then they will be humbled before God
4:9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart [courage] of the king [ruler, leader] shall perish, and the heart [courage] of the princes [mighty men]; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.
Jeremiah exclaims that the people are deceived, thinking they would have peace, when God had determined that the city would fall to Nebuchadnezzar.
In this latter day, 1 Thessalonians 5:3 is a warning that when we think that we have achieved peace and safety then sudden, immediate, by surprise, destruction will come upon us.
When they shall declare peace and safety; sudden, immediate destruction will come. The peace process is now gearing up although it may take a little time to reach a deal.
Prepare yourselves; turn to your God in sincere repentance. Love God the Father enough to live by every Word of God, and love Jesus Christ enough to learn and do what he says; instead of loving your idols of men! Prove all things and follow men ONLY as they zealously follow Jesus Christ and God the Father in heaven!
4:10 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.
Just as it fell on Judah and Jerusalem in c 587 B.C., a fierce wind of destruction will fall upon the unrepentant of physical and spiritual Israel in our own time.
4:11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse, 4:12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.
The enemy will come in a heated rush with his vehicles and his armies against Jerusalem, and will occupy the city for 42 months (Rev 11).
The repentant will be measured out and preserved, but the unrepentant who are far from God will be corrected.
In this scripture remember that the temple of God is his called out; the inner court of the temple refers to those who sincerely repent and are close to and zealous for the whole Word of God. The outer court refers to these who are far from God, not being zealous to keep all God’s will and ways.
Revelation 11 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple [the inner court of the faithful Ekklesia] of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 11:2 But the court which is without the temple [the apostate Ekklesia of Laodicea] leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city [Jerusalem, representative of all Judah and Israel the Laodicean Ekklesia] shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
Jeremiah 4:13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds [as clouds race across the sky], and his chariots [military vehicles] shall be as a whirlwind [quick and speedy]: his horses [vehicles] are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.
Repent quickly so that we might be spared such affliction
4:14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? 4:15 For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
The sins of Judah and Jerusalem were known to God in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C. and God brought Judah down because she would not repent. Today the wickedness of spiritual and physical Israel are known unto God and our correction is at hand.
4:16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah. 4:17 As keepers [defenders] of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.
In this latter day Judah and Israel shall fall together (Hosea 5:5) and when we are in tribulation, we will remember that this is God’s just correction for our departure from the Word of God.
4:18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
Jeremiah cries out in anguish, physically sick; for the coming suffering of Judah and Jerusalem; and even greater suffering will come upon us in this latter day.
4:19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. 4:20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
Today the Spiritual Ekklesia are wise in their own eyes and for their own ways; but they are foolish concerning the ways of God, because they lack zeal to live by every Word of God and instead do that which is right in their own eyes; blindly obeying idols of men without question.
4:21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet? 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
The land of those who depart from our God will be made desolate and men on it shall be made scarce; until we sincerely repent and turn to an intense zeal for our God.
As these things happened to Judah in Tammuz [the fourth month] 587 B.C. as a fore type; they will come upon BOTH Judah and Israel in their fullness in the next few years.
4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. 4:24 I beheld the mountains [governments], and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills [lesser governments, authorities] moved lightly.
4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no [very few men left] man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
Yet, Messiah the Christ will come to save what is left and to deliver a finally humbled and repentant humanity.
4:27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
The end time day of the Lord
4:28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it. 4:29 The whole city [of Jerusalem] shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen [when the armies of Asia come up against Messiah at Jerusalem]; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.
In this latter day when Jerusalem and Judah are occupied and the ten tribes of Israel [America and the British etc etc] are defeated, no nation will save us and our idols of men will not deliver us.
4:30 And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers [friends and allies] will despise thee, they will seek thy life.
The earth is about to give birth to a new order; it will not be the satanic order envisaged by men; it will be the kingdom of God; with Jesus Christ and his resurrected Chosen replacing the kingdom of Satan and all present worldly governments.
When Judah and Israel [including spiritual Israel] are brought to sincere repentance to accept their Mighty One; they will be saved; and salvation shall flow out from Jerusalem to cover the whole earth with the whole Word of God.
4:31 For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
As Jerusalem in Jeremiah’s day would have been pardoned if they had repented, so today’s Ekklesia would be pardoned and preserved if only they would turn back to their God.
In this latter day physical Judah and Israel must be corrected again just as they were corrected in the past; but the Ekklesia who are faithful like Lot was, have an opportunity to escape before the harsh correction falls on us, just like Lot was removed from Sodom and preserved.
Jeremiah 5:1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
We call ourselves the people of God, yet we refuse to have any zeal to live by the Word of God. Instead our zeal is to exalt our little tin gods of men, false traditions and corporate entities above the Word of God.
Yes, we pay lip service to God and claim to be godly, but our actions are very far from the Word of God.
5:2 And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.
In spite of all our troubles and schisms we refuse to repent and turn to a zeal to live by every Word of Almighty God. Oh, the work that could be done if each person turned in zeal for the whole Word of God!
When will we learn that it is not the work of our hands; but the work of the Master Builder: that is of lasting value. We build great buildings only to see them destroyed with time.
Jesus Christ is building a temple of men that will be glorious and will last forever. Why not turn to him to learn and live by every Word of God so that we may become one in complete unity with God, and become a part of the Temple of God the Father?
5:3 O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. 5:4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.
As the great men of Judah resisted godliness, so the great men of the Ekklesia in the latter day congregations, have broken their Covenant of espousal to Christ and thrown off his yoke, to serve themselves and their false gods of men.
5:5 I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
As they were corrected in the past so our correction is close at hand today. These animals are types of violent men and nations.
5:6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
Just as Judah followed their idols in the past, today the brethren commit spiritual adultery with their false gods of men and corporations, exalting the traditions of men above the Word of God.
Look about and see the many organizations which idolize men to the point that they will exalt the words of men above the scriptures. See how, that when they find themselves wrong and their ideas disproved from the scriptures, their last resort is to claim that they are right because it was approved by some man or corporation.
Today most of the Ekklesia will not repent for they have put their trust in idols men and not in our Mighty Savior!
Our disgraceful idolatry and spiritual adultery against our espousal to Jesus Christ, is a matter that very many are exceeding proud of; therefore they will not repent.
5:7 How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.
We are like the worldly adulterer who commits adultery with many, and forgets their obligation to be faithful to their spouse and all his teachings and commandments. We chase after every clever doctrine of men and commit many spiritual adulteries against the baptismal commitment of our espousal.
Today the Ekklesia is full of pride thinking that they have need of nothing (Rev 3:17) and still they live by the words of idols of men, committing gross spiritual adultery, and refuse to live by every Word of God
5:8 They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife. 5:9 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Physical and spiritual Israel and Judah have departed from God and are filled with wickedness, yet it is spiritual Israel who is greatly to blame for we have not cried out and told the nations their sins with the true gospel message of warning and repentance: Therefore their blood is on our heads.
Ezekiel 33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: 33:3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; 33:4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. 33:5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
Brethren, the elders, leaders and watchmen have a command from Almighty God to:
Isaiah 58 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
It is because there was no one doing this and showing the sins of the brethren to the brethren so that they might hear and sincerely repent to return and to zealously serve the Eternal; that I am come.
Brethren of the church of God; Why is there no one to proclaim the sins of the people and turn them to a passion for their Husband, the love of their youth? Why will today’s elders and leaders lead the Ekklesia into the sin of following them, instead of proclaiming the warning, and teaching sincere repentance and a passionate zeal for the truth?
I have no choice but to stand in the breach, for the guilt of the blood of the unwarned people will be upon me if I do not speak out.
Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
Ezekiel is set up by God as the Watchman of Israel for his day and for our day through his writings.
33:7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
It was Ezekiel’s personal responsibility to warn and call to repentance; physical and spiritual Judah and Israel. ALL of the leaders, elders and brethren have this same duty to proclaim the gospel of warning, repentance and the way to salvation; to turn people away from all sin and teach a passionate zeal to learn and to keep the whole Word of God!
Today the Ekklesia has utterly failed in our obligation to cry out the message of warning, repentance and of keeping the whole Word of God (Isaiah 58); for we will not even repent to live by every Word of God ourselves.
Jeremiah 5:10 Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD’s. 5:11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.
Because we reject the Word of God, which warns of the greater responsibility of the Ekklesia; and because we will not repent to turn to a righteous zeal to live by every Word of God; and because we make others to follow us in our own ways and not to follow God the Father and Jesus Christ; our own correction is close at hand.
5:12 They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine: 5:13 And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them. 5:14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
A great power is now rising in Europe and will occupy the Jewish State but not necessarily occupy America. Nevertheless America and the British peoples will be brought down over 42 months (Dan 12:7).
5:15 Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say. 5:16 Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men. 5:17 And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.
When Judah was carried into captivity in Babylon, those who were humbled and sincerely repentant were allowed to return to the land of Judah.
Today, when Israel and Judah are humbled and sincerely repentant and ready to accept and live by every Word of God and follow Messiah the Christ; then he will come to deliver those that remain.
5:18 Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
God did not allow Nebuchadnezzar to make a full end of Judah, and today God will not allow the New Europe of Babylon the Great to make a full end of us either.
This New Europe is now rising and the correction of physical and spiritual Israel is near at hand.
This is coming because we have departed from the whole Word of God to serve our false traditions and corporate idols and idols of men; loving and following them more than loving and living by every Word of God.
Our correction is coming because of the overspreading of our abominations against the Word of God.
5:19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me [God], and served strange gods [obeyed others instead of obeying God] in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not your’s.
The faithful are commanded to declare the greatness of our Mighty Creator to the Ekklesia and to the nations who have departed from the whole Word of God to follow idols of men and false ways.
5:20 Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying, 5:21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
The Creator made the sea and set its boundaries; what is man that he should do what is right in his own eyes and reject the wisdom of the Creator God?
5:22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
We idolize and worship men and our own false traditions above the Word of God; instead of the Mighty One who gives us our bread in season.
Oh, we pay lips-service to God the Father and Jesus Christ; but we do what is right in our own imaginations and have no zeal to live by every Word of God (Mat 4:4).
5:23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. 5:24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
Our sins have brought us disaster in our nations, and disaster within our organizations; the spiritual Ekklesia is supposed to be the salt that makes our nation with its wickedness endurable to God; and we have turned away from our God and have lost our savor with him.
5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.
The corporate churches have many elders, leaders and brethren who appear godly on the outside; but who are not godly in their deeds, doing what they think is right [like Eve in the garden] and refusing to live by every Word of God.
5:26 For among my people [BOTH Physical and Spiritual Israel] are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. 5:27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. 5:28 They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
Will Christ not correct us for our departure from him and from the righteousness of God’s Word?
5:29 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
The brethren have been taught to just sit back and do whatever they are told by men without question. They are inclined to the easy way of spiritual indolence and lethargy. They are content to let others rule over them with rigor and they love to have it so.
Why do most of the brethren not question and test all things by the Word of God?
They are spiritually lazy, preferring to make idols of men; they do not value their salvation or the birthright of their calling and they are afraid of taking personal responsibility before God.
They want what they think is the easy way, and they hope that when God judges them they can get away with: “We were faithful to do what the elder told us”: The “we were just following orders” NAZI excuse!
It won’t work brethren; each and every person is personally responsible for their own actions.
5:30 A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
God commands Jeremiah to blast the trumpet of warning by crying aloud and sparing not; for the time of the fall of Jerusalem to Nebuchadnezzar is almost at hand.
In this latter day our fall is also at hand, and the warning to repent or be corrected is going out to the brotherhood.
Jeremiah also reveals that Benjamin remained with Judah and did not go to Assyria with the Ten Tribes of Israel.
Jeremiah 6:1 O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.
The latter day daughter of Zion which is physical and spiritual Israel today, are now facing serious correction for turning away from our God.
6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.
Jerusalem was surrounded by the armies of Babylon, and later by the armies of Rome which destroyed her. In this latter day both physical Israel/Judah and the spiritual Jerusalem of the New Covenant Ekklesia will also be sternly rebuked for all our sins.
As the spiritual temple is the people in whom God dwells; even so Jerusalem is the place of the physical temple, and therefore also represents the people of God; BOTH spiritual and temporal.
6:3 The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place. 6:4 Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out. 6:5 Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
Physical and spiritual Jerusalem are full of oppression, sin and false ways
6:6 For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her. 6:7 As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.
Repent quickly physical and spiritual Jerusalem, lest the Lord our Maker turn to fully reject us into the furnace of affliction.
6:8 Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
The enemy shall reap spiritual and physical Israel to the point where there is only a gleaning remnant of the people.
6:9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.
Like the ancients, today’s physical and spiritual Israel and Judah have no love for the Word of God and cleave to their own ways.
Today’s spiritual Ekklesia have no delight in living by every Word of God; delighting instead in their own ways and their idols of men, organizations and the traditions of men, loving them more than they love the Word of God and the Lord of our espousal.
Those who do what men say, contrary to what the whole Word of God says; are they not preferring men more than God? Are they not preferring the words of men more than the whole Word of God?
6:10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
God the Father and Jesus Christ are weary with enduring our idolatry and with warning us; they are ready to reject us and vomit us out of the body of the faithful as was done to the ancients; casting us into the bitterness of strong correction (Rev 3:16).
6:11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days. 6:12 And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD. 6:13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness [selfishness]; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
Today’s COG Groups tell the brethren that no harm shall come upon them as long as they are loyal to the men and organizations; thereby exalting themselves above the ONLY One who can save them.
6:14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Are we at all ashamed of following men instead of being faithful to God? No not at all! We deem ourselves godly; as we rush after our false idols of men, who teach contrary to the Word of God.
6:15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Repent quickly and take the true path of salvation revealed in the whole Word of God.
6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
The watchmen sounded the alarm in ancient Jerusalem and the alarm is being sounded today, but the physical nations and most of the spiritual brethren WILL NOT listen; for they think themselves righteous in their sins.
6:17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
Messiah the Christ will correct us and bring the consequences of our evil doing upon our own heads. Why? Because we have turned from zeal to live by every Word of God to zeal for our own ways; polluting God’s Sabbath and High Days, and loving and idolizing men above our love for our Maker and for the whole Word of God.
6:18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. 6:19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
Why do we pray and give offerings when we continue in our sins? Without true sincere repentance our prayers and offerings will NOT be acceptable to God the Father or to Jesus Christ.
6:20 To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
Because those calling themselves by the name of God the Father, do not do the will of God the Father; we stumble in the confusion of our own ways. Is this not self evidently happening in today’s spiritual Ekklesia? Split through and through and often in competition, envying and jealous of one another.
FOR SHAME! For Shame that we are come to such a DISGRACE, which is the fruit if each one going his own way instead of being faithful to learn and live by every Word of God.
6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
An enemy will come and will bring down the physical nations of Israel and they will also bring down spiritual Israel in a correction from God.
6:22 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth. 6:23 They shall lay hold on bow and spear [weapons]; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
As the city Jerusalem was totally destroyed in Jeremiah’s time, when the New Europe rises the Ekklesia shall be afraid yet we will still stand on our false traditions and ignore the warnings from God, only to fall into the great affliction that we fear.
6:24 We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail. 6:25 Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.
As happened in Jeremiah’s day, today the enemy will rise suddenly and shall suddenly come up against us when we declare that peace and safety has been achieved (1 Thess 5:3).
6:26 O daughter [the latter day descendant nations] of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
6:27 I have set thee [Jeremiah, or any true man of God] for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
6:28 They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.
All those who will not sincerely repent when corrected, will be destroyed. Those that the Master Refiner cannot purify from their sins shall be destroyed.
6:29 The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away. 6:30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
Jeremiah was commanded to stand in the very gate of the Temple to warn Jerusalem and Judea to repent. Even so a warning is coming to the very gates of the spiritual Temple of the Ekklesia today: Sincerely repent and turn to God, for why will you die?
Jeremiah 7:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 7:2 Stand in the gate of the LORD’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
Repent and learn and live by every Word of God; and we well be established; reject the Word of God for our own ways and corporate idols, and we shall be corrected.
7:3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
Do not trust in lying words saying that we are the true spiritual Ekklesia the true church of God and no evil shall come upon us; for as Christ allowed his Temple in Jerusalem to be destroyed twice; he will most certainly correct us for committing the same sins.
7:4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.
If we sincerely repent of polluting the Sabbath and idolizing men, corporate organizations and false traditions; if we sincerely repent of our spiritual idolatry and spiritual adulteries with false gods of our own devising; We will be forgiven and established.
7:5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; 7:6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: 7:7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
Do not trust in the lies of men; who lie saying that organizational loyalty is synonymous with loyalty to God.
7:8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
We commit spiritual adultery against the Husband of our baptismal espousal, we sin against our baptismal vow, the leaders steal God’s funds to spend excessively on their false gods [building great buildings and buying memorabilia of some man to remember their human idol] and on themselves.
We follow leaders and elders who deceive with part truths and often lie, we call ourselves godly and then persecute those who are zealous to live by every Word of God. For the most part we will not rebuke sin, nor will we teach the righteousness of the whole Word of God.
We pollute the weekly Sabbath and Holy Days and we reject the Biblical teaching regarding the calendar, keeping God’s High Days on our own humanly devised dates and not on God’s dates. We are full of stubborn self-will and pride, imagining ourselves righteous and godly and in need of nothing, to the point where we will not even faithfully keep the Word of God.
7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; 7:10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? 7:11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
Look and see what Christ did to the place of the tabernacle at Shiloh, and today we also have the example of the destruction of the Temple at Jerusalem by the Babylonians and the later destruction of the Temple by the Romans!
Let us sincerely repent and quickly, lest this evil come upon the spiritual; Ekklesia for the same sins.
To call ourselves the people of God in a meaningless lie, unless we become the people of God by learning and zealously living by every Word of God.
7:12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
Christ tells the people that he will destroy the Temple at Jerusalem as he destroyed the place of the tabernacle at Shiloh. And this is an example for today’s physical and spiritual Israel, that he will bring his spiritual Temple down as he brought down Shiloh and later Jerusalem.
7:13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; 7:14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
If we sin as they did, and we most certainly are sinning as they did; we will meet the very same correction that they did; regardless of the claims we make and the name we label ourselves with.
Jeremiah calls on Judah to remember how that Ephraim had been cast out of the land and had already in captivity for almost 150 years when Jeremiah wrote.
Calling ourselves godly; does NOT make us godly!
7:15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. 7:16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
Making cakes to the Queen of heaven refers to Easter [Astarte, Diana] buns; and the traditional round birthday cake, with the smoke of its candles rising up to the Queen of heaven.
A point of interest: The statue called Liberty in New York, is Aphrodite [Astarte, Diana] given to the Masons of the United States as a gift from the Masons of France. And we swell with pride before it.
Physically and spiritually we worship false gods by blindly following the teachings of men contrary to the Word of God.
7:17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
The anger of God the Father and Jesus Christ will be poured out on all those who break either the letter or the spirit of any part of the whole Word of God.
7:19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? 7:20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
God wants our sincere repentance and he wants us to learn and live by every Word of God, so that we may be perfect as he is perfect, so that we may become like God, living as God lives.
Sacrifice implies that sin has been done; God does not want sacrifice, he wants us to live by every Word of God so that there will be no more need for sacrifice.
7:21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. 7:22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
LEARN and KEEP the whole Word of God! That is what we have been called to do!
7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 7:24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
As physical Israel was hardened against the whole Word of God; so the Church of God groups of today have been deceived and led away from the whole Word of God; into man worship, false traditions and organizational idolatry.
7:25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: 7:26 Yet they [physical and spiritual Israel] hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
Tragically these words can be said to and about the Church of God groups today.
7:27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee. 7:28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Jesus Christ will reject those who have espoused themselves to him as a spiritual Israel and then turned to follow after other lovers [idols of men]: Those who have become cold for their espoused Husband and the whole Word of God; only to be hot for false traditions and running after and bowing down before idols of men who cannot save.
Today, many love a corporate entity or some of its elders, leaders or social life; MORE than they love Jesus Christ and the Word of God!
People tell me all the time: “Oh how I love the Church” not realizing that loving men and organizations overmuch; and loving them more than they love God the Father and Jesus Christ and the Word of God: is IDOLATRY! It is a major sin which separates us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ.
Jerusalem was the place of the physical temple and this is a reference to US as the spiritual Temple of God the Father through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
The hair of a woman is her glory and her pride; God commands Jerusalem to shave their heads as a type of casting aside our pride, because we are full of spiritual adultery, loving false gods instead of our spiritual Husband.
God calls us to mourn in true sincere repentance!
7:29 Cut off thine hair [cast aside our pride], O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
Physical and Spiritual Judah have turned away from God, and need to quickly repent.
Spiritual Judah, the church of God, has polluted the Temple of God; by teaching false traditions and the exalting of men to be equal with or superior to the Word of God.
7:30 For the children of [physical and spiritual] Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
Do we not sacrifice our own children to our idols by teaching them to exalt men and organizations [our idols] above the whole Word of God?
Do we not teach our children to obey our idols of men and our false traditions above living by every Word of God. And in so doing we dedicate them to our idols and set them on the path to their destruction.
7:31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
Our idols will be destroyed, and we shall become totally disillusioned with false traditions and false teachings, until we sincerely repent and turn to live by every Word of God. And the unrepentant will surely die in their sin of fearing and obeying men and not God.
7:32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place. 7:33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
Both physical Judah/Israel and spiritual Judah/Israel will be corrected until they sincerely repent or until there is no more hope for the unrepentant.
7:34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
When God’s correction comes, there will be sincere repentance; all our idols of men will be cast down and desecrated and humanity will repudiate our idols of men who have turned us away from our God.
Jeremiah 8:1 At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests [of false gods, who taught falsely], and the bones of the [false prophets] prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:
8:2 And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.
The correction shall be so severe that many will desire to die
8:3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.
Christ asks; why do God’s people not repent and return to him, so that they may be spared his correction?
8:4 Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? 8:5 Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. 8:6 I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.
The Called Out brethren have turned away from living by every Word of God; they have been deceived into trusting and blindly obeying men who are false teachers.
8:7 Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle [migratory turtle dove] and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming [migrations]; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.
We are become wise in our own conceits as Christ said:
Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Laodicea is spiritually lukewarm, professing godliness while living according to their own imaginations instead of living by every Word of God.
We pay lip service to godliness without any zeal to learn and live by every Word of God. Our zeal is for our own ways and what we think, it is for our own past false traditions and our idols of men and not for what God says. We stand on false past traditions and proudly think that we know it all; refusing any spiritual growth we have become stagnant even falling backward in our spiritual condition.
We are hot for our own false traditions, and for the teachings of our idols of men about the Word of God, and we are cold for zealously keeping the whole Word as God, as God has commanded us. This mixture of hot for our idols of men and corporate entities, and a cold, lack of zeal to keep the Word of God; makes us lukewarm and revolting to Christ.
We have become idolaters of men and the false traditions of men; proud, thinking that we know it all spiritually and therefore we refuse knowledge from God or man; we reject the Word of God for our own ways and we reject any growth in truth and we refuse to turn from error, falling deeper and deeper into error and sin.
Because these folks have rejected Christ to follow him above our idols of men, they will be rejected by Christ into the correction of great tribulation, in the hope that through the correction of the flesh the spirit may be saved.
3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth [They will be rejected by Christ into severe correction].
Proud and self willed, we think they are spiritually rich and know it all, having need of no spiritual growth, and reject the promised increase in spiritual knowledge and understanding promised for the last days (Dan 12).
We reject any part of scripture that we do not want to follow, saying it is for others; or that it is not reliable and we are so proud that we have no idea how spiritually wretched, miserable and poor we really are.
We are willfully blind to our own condition and to the things of God that disprove our own false ways; We lack the garments of righteousness and are naked of righteousness before God, our many sins exposed to Him; beginning with the sins of pride, stubborn self will, self justification and self approval.
3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich [spiritually], and increased with goods [spiritual knowledge], and have need of nothing [no one not even Christ (the Word of God) can tell them anything]; and knowest not that thou art [spiritually] wretched, and miserable, and [spiritually] poor [knowing almost nothing of God as they ought to know it], and blind [willfully blind to their wretched spiritual state], and naked [naked of any true godly righteousness, not being zealous to keep the Word of God]:
Christ counsels those with the Laodicean attitude to buy spiritual gold in the fire of tribulation; that they may become spiritually rich.
They are bidden to sincerely repent of their prideful sins so that the nakedness of their wickedness may be covered by the application of the sacrifice of Christ; so that they may receive God’s Holy Spirit and the white raiment of the righteousness of the zealous keeping of the whole Word of God.
We are commanded to anoint tour eyes and open them to see ourselves as God sees us, and to sincerely repent from our pride and false ways and to turn away from our idols of men and false traditions to follow the Spirit of God into all truth; rejecting all error and sin to embrace godly truth that they might be saved.
3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me [spiritual] gold tried in the fire [during the period of your correction in the fire of tribulation], that thou mayest be [become spiritually rich] rich; and white raiment [the righteousness of zealously keeping the whole Word of God], that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness [that our sins might be covered by the righteousness of God] do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see [open our eyes to see ourselves as God sees us, to see ourselves as we really are so that we can repent and be saved].
Jesus reminds these folks that he rebukes them only because he truly loves them and is not willing that they should perish. They are rejected only because they first rejected Christ, refusing to live by every Word of God, refusing to follow Christ and refusing to live by every Word of God in Christ-like zeal.
Jesus Christ tells those of the Laodicean attitude; which is the overwhelming attitude in the Ekklesia today; to REPENT of our pride and self righteousness. and to REPENT of trusting in our idols of men and false traditions.
Jesus Christ tells us to turn to him; and turn to a zeal for the whole Word of God, to learn it and to keep it; to turn from our false idols and false traditions and to become zealous to remove error and embrace the truth of God!
3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Jesus Christ is warning and calling each one of his straying sheep; He wants us to open up to him, to reject idols and to follow him, to be zealous to remove sin and embrace God’s righteous truth, to internalize the solid meat of the Word of God in fellowship with Christ.
We have an open invitation from Jesus Christ who is gladly willing to accept us, if we would only open up our eyes and turn to Him!
3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup [eat; internalize the Word of God] with him, and he with me.
Only those who overcome this Laodicean attitude of pride and self-centeredness will be resurrected to spirit. Those who sincerely repent of the sins of Laodicea will be in the resurrection to eternal life and will have a place in the eternal government of God.
3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
We claim to be faithful to the Word of God, even as we reject it for our false traditions of men.
Jeremiah 8:8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain [because the Word is not kept] .
There is no wisdom in those who turn from the Word of God to do what is right in their own eyes, as physical and spiritual Judah and Israel have done. We have turned from truth to embrace shameful errors.
8:9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?
Just look at the men who lead the various groups, exalting themselves, or some dead man; instead of the Mighty One of Jacob; we have become an execration and a shameful disgrace before the Eternal God after who’s name we call ourselves.
8:10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
They teach that no harm shall come upon those who follow them, as they exalt themselves as equal to, or above, the whole Word of God. “Just do what we say without question and your salvation is assured” these deceivers lie.
Brethren, we are commanded to prove all things by the whole Word of God and to reject anything contrary to the whole Word of God; holding fast ONLY to what is consistent with every Word of God.
Deuteronomy 5:32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
We are to follow our HEAD, God the Father and Jesus Christ, and we are to follow men ONLY as they follow the Word of God.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
That is the paramount lesson that we are learning; that is the lesson that is essential to learn to be a part of the collective bride: We must learn to follow our Head above ANY other!
Jeremiah 8:11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter [latter day descendants] of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Today’s spiritual Ekklesia think themselves righteous and they claim to be godly, while at the same time they reject learning, and living by every Word of God; they are self righteous and living by their false traditions and are not following the righteousness of the whole Word of God.
8:12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
We shall surely be corrected if we do not sincerely repent
8:13 I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.
In the great correction, many will indeed repent and mourn over their sins.
8:14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD. 8:15 We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!
The warnings have gone out and the signs of approaching trouble are everywhere; repent quickly and turn to zeal to live by every Word of God.
8:16 The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.
Serpents are beasts who lie in wait to strike, and many men are like serpents who lie in wait to deceive.
Today there are many deceiving serpents of men, deceiving the brethren; in fact most of the COG leaders fall into this category of deceivers; seeking personal advantage and followings, instead of being men zealous to live by every Word of God.
8:17 For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah mourns for the wickedness and the correction which will befall physical and spiritual Jerusalem and Judah.
8:18 When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.
Why do the COG groups provoke our God to jealousy with our idols of men and false traditions?
8:19 Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter [latter day descendants of] of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities? 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
Here “black” is a reference to darkness or depression of mind and spirit, to mourning and deep sorrow.
8:21 For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.
Why do the latter day people of physical and spiritual Judah and Israel not repent? Why does spiritual Israel of tday’as church of God groups not repent of their spiritual adultery against the Husband of our baptismal espousal?
8:22 Is there no balm [spiritual healing, sincere repentance] in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the [spiritual] health of the daughter [latter day descendants of] of my people recovered?
Jeremiah weeps for the suffering of spiritual and physical Judah and Israel.
Jeremiah 9:1 Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter [descendants of] of my people!
Oh, that the treacherous against the Husband of their baptismal espousal who love their idols of men and organizations more than they love God: would sincerely repent and be saved.
Jeremiah seeks a place of escape from the wicked.
9:2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
Jesus Christ says of the majority of his espoused bride in this latter day; We are NOT valiant for the truth of the whole Word of God; instead we are hot and zealous for our own ways, and false traditions; and for the teachings and traditions of men and corporate idols.
We love and obey the teachings of men, contrary to the teachings of the Word of God; we are spiritual adulterers, calling ourselves by the name of God, yet not knowing God because we are not zealous to learn and live by every Word of God.
9:3 And they bend their tongues like their bow for [launching] lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
Trust NO ONE with your salvation, but trust in the Mighty Rock of our Salvation.
Prove all things by the whole Word of God and hold fast to what is true and consistent with the whole Word of God; reject error and embrace the truth of God.
9:4 Take ye heed [be careful of our teachers and check their words by God’s Word, lest we be deceived away from our zeal for God] every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
The only way to expose the spiritual deceiver is to love and learn the sound doctrine of the Word of God.
Sound doctrine IS divisive: It divides truth from error and the holy from the profane, dividing the wicked from the righteous; by revealing the truth of the whole Word of God and exposing the errors, lies and falsehoods of the wicked.
9:5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. 9:6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.
Jesus Christ will correct the unrepentant wicked, who say that sound doctrine is of no importance, so that they can deceive people away from the Word of God.
9:7 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them [correct them]; for how shall I do for the daughter [latter day descendants] of my people?
The wicked pay lip-service to the Word of God, telling the people that they are ministers of God in order to deceive the brethren to follow after themselves, and then they substitute their own false traditions and the imaginations of men in place of the true Word of God.
9:8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
Severe correction is the lot of the unrepentant wicked who exalt themselves and the traditions of men above the Word of God.
9:9 Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? 9:10 For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
Jerusalem the capital, the head of Judah, was brought to ruin by Nebuchadnezzar and later by Prince Titus; and shall be occupied again in this latter day; and spiritual Jerusalem, the people in whom the Spirit of God dwells; who are lacking in zeal for their God, while turning to their own false ways, will also be cast into severe correction.
9:11 And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons [jackals]; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
The wise [zealous for the every Word of God] will understand what is happening and why, because they seek to learn and live by every Word of God.
They have their eyes wide open and they see the difference between God’s Word and what is being taught by the deceivers.
By being faithful to every Word of God, they have learned to discern between the spiritually clean and the unclean, between good and evil, and between the Holy Word of God and the profane words of deceitful men.
9:12 Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare [teach why the people perish] it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
This is why Jesus Christ will reject the latter day called out and cast them into the furnace of affliction, because they have forsaken any zeal to live by every Word of God. They pollute the Sabbath and idolize men and false traditions which are contrary to the Word of God. They do whatever they think is right and they do not live by every Word of God.
9:13 And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; 9:14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
Therefore the brethren who do not repent will be corrected: While the sincerely repentant and the sincerely zealous to live by every Word of God, will be called out of these groups before the Assemblies are cast out into great tribulation.
9:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. 9:16 I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.
In the tribulation there will be a great mourning of sincere repentance by physical and apostate spiritual Israel.
9:17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning [wailing] women, that they may come: 9:18 And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
When we are cast out by Christ and fall into great tribulation (Rev 3:16), when our fears have come upon us and our trust is found to be in lies; then we will mourn and repent in bitter weeping for all our sins.
9:19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out. 9:20 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation. 9:21 For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets.
There shall be a great dying in physical and spiritual Israel. Many will die before the remainder repent, and many of the repentant of spiritual Israel will need to prove their sincerity, by taking a stand for the Word of God and giving up their lives for the Eternal.
9:22 Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.
Those who glory in themselves will find their glorying to be vanity and misery; for their pride will not save them.
9:23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Let all mankind glory in knowing the Eternal, and glory in the righteousness of every Word of God.
9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
All wicked men will be corrected; how much more shall spiritual Israel, who is supposed to have the Holy Spirit of the New Covenant, who is supposed to be following the Spirit of God the Father and Messiah the Christ, who is supposed to know better: How much more will they be corrected for their falling away from living by every Word of God?
9:25 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised; 9:26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
This admonition is against all idolatry, although it has been used specifically against Christmas. Please see our Christmas article here.
Horoscopes and astrology are an abomination to God the Father and Jesus Christ. I know that very many in the Ekklesia, especially women, go in for this; they need to repent of this wickedness; for Astrology exalts physical bodies [the creation] above the God who created them and above God’s Word, making idols of the creation rather than trusting in the Creator.
Here we are also again warned NOT to seek to follow the religious practices of the wicked; in today’s Ekklesia we have accepted the church governance system of the Beast, and the abomination of the Primacy of Peter, placing layers of men between God the Father and the brethren.
We should be ordaining men in recognition of those who have the full fruits of the Father’s calling, and not according to organizational loyalty or personal skill sets. When the two prophets come and they will come after the appalling abomination has been set up doing miracles and they will be ordained by God the Father, not by men.
Ordination by men and the laying on of the hands of men is NOTHING; unless the man proves himself by his continual zeal for the every Word of God.
Jeremiah 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
We make idols of things which we have power and control over. Idols can be, but they are not necessarily statues of wood, silver or gold; we can make idols of men, corporate churches or almost anything which we allow to come between us and God.
10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Statues and idols of men can do nothing! They are made by men who want to use them – claiming to be the priests of these gods – in order to hold sway over the people.
Today men will say that the statue is nothing; but that it represents a very real god [saint etc], and they will claim to be the priests of that god. In doing this they deceive a superstitious people into following themselves by giving them something tangible to worship while they are deceived into following such men and their the false teaching.
That kind of deception is often done through distracting people from God by giving the people a lavish center for the people to focus on and to exclaim: “Oh how God is blessing us, what a great work this man is doing” which distracts the focus of the people from every Word of God and the ungodly activities of the leadership.
Then the daughter organizations use the same distraction technique, by focusing people on the organization, or the leadership, or what they are doing; and not on the Word of God.
Yes they will entice people by paying lip service to the Word of God, but they quickly do a switch and substitute their own opinions for God’s Word: Saying “God said this” while twisting the Word to mean something entirely different from the scriptural meaning.
10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
The Eternal is God, and there is NO other God like HIM! We are to follow every Word of God and we are NOT to follow any man who strays from any part of the Word of God.
10:6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might. 10:7 Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
The wicked who serve false gods which are NOT gods at all, and who put their trust in apostate false teachers and their false ways; will come to nothing.
10:8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities. 10:9 Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
There is ONE Elohim YHVH [Family of Eternal Mighty Ones], Who is Mighty to Save; even Jesus Christ the Creator, and God the Father in heaven.
10:10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
The false teachers who are not zealous for learning and living by every Word of the Mighty Holy Father in heaven; shall perish from the earth [either by repudiating their false ways in sincere repentance, or by being destroyed].
10:11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
Why will we not be zealous for the Awesome Creator who made all things, to whom we have committed ourselves in a baptism of espousal to follow ONLY him and God the Father?
Why will we idolize men and follow them away from any zeal for our Mighty One?
10:12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. 10:13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
Why will we stand on our own ways, when we like dumb brute beasts in comparison to him?
10:14 Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
We are so proud of our own self-righteousness and wisdom; not understanding that we are wicked for standing on our false traditions and following our little false gods of men; We are about to be rejected by the Mighty One of Jacob for relying on our own false ways, and our massive pride in our own self-righteousness, unless we quickly repent we shall perish with the other wicked of this world.
We are always right in our own eyes and we will believe nothing not even proven truth, even if it proves us to be wrong on anything. We refuse and reject truth and justify our own errors so that no one not even God’s Word can tell us anything. Because of this we condemn ourselves to remain in our false ways and in our sins and we WILL NOT repent.
If today’s Ekklesia not corrected to sincere repentance in great tribulation, we are lost forever; for we are always right in our own eyes like Job, and our self justifications brings us down to perdition.
10:15 They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
The portion of Jacob is the promised one Jesus Christ, who is the former [the beginning] and the end of all things.
10:16 The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.
Get yourselves ready for your strong correction you unrepentant; says the Lord of Hosts.
10:17 Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress. 10:18 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
The time of the latter day correction of spiritual and physical Israel is at hand.
10:19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
The tabernacle [Temple] of the Spirit, are those in whom the Holy Spirit of God the Father and Messiah the Christ dwell.
10:20 My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
Our elders are brutish, they stand for their false traditions and their idols of men and organizations; not being zealous to learn and live by every Word of God, they pollute his Sabbath and fall down before idols of men.
10:21 For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
Physical and spiritual Judah will be corrected and made desolate.
You who think that all things Jewish [like the Rabbinic Calendar] are godly; how can you think such a thing when God condemns physical Judah into the latter day tribulation for the overspreading of all their abominations?
Those who think that our corporate idols are righteous will soon be disillusioned and left without those idols, as they are destroyed in great tribulation. Follow the whole Word of God; follow men ONLY as they also follow the whole Word of God.
10:22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
It is foolish to follow false teachers who lean to their own wisdom [which is ignorance and foolishness] away from living by every Word of God.
10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
May we repent quickly so that we are not totally destroyed
10:24 O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
10:25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen [the unrepentant] that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
We know that the New Covenant is the writing on our hearts and in our minds, the whole Word of God (Jer 31:31).
Christ here warns Jeremiah to remind the people to keep the whole Covenant which is to learn and to live by every Word of God.
This warning is to the people of his day; and to both physical and spiritual Israel in these latter days as well. Those who do not repent and start to turn from sin into zealously living by every Word of God, will be corrected in the captivity and destruction of the tribulation.
Jeremiah 11:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying, 11:2 Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
11:3 And say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
Just as Judah in Jeremiah’s day was warned to keep their covenant with God, today Spiritual Israel is reminded to obey God and keep our Covenant of baptism to learn and live by every Word of God and to follow no man or corporate idol contrary to any part of the Word of God.
Physical Israel was delivered from Pharaoh and bondage in Egypt, and the spiritually called out are delivered from bondage to Satan and sin. Why will we go back into the bondage which we were delivered out of?
Physical Israel entered into a marriage covenant with Christ at Sinai, and we entered into a covenant of espousal to marriage to Jesus Christ at our baptism.
11:4 Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
Physical Israel and Judah were required to keep and live by their Covenant with God, in order to remain in the physical promised land; and the called out of Spiritual Israel must keep their part of the New Covenant so that they may enter into the Promised Land of eternal life.
11:5 That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.
Let the Word of God be proclaimed today, just as it was proclaimed by Jeremiah to Jerusalem and Judea in the past
11:6 Then the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
This is true baptismal counseling: At baptism we are committing ourselves to learning and living by every Word of God, FOREVER; without turning to the right or to the left from God the Father and Jesus Christ and from every Word of God.
We are NOT joining a corporate church; We are espousing ourselves to an Awesome Husband, Jesus Christ; and we are to be totally loyal to HIM and to His Father in ALL things and at ALL times!
WE are to follow men ONLY as they follow Christ and the whole Word of God! We are to test out and prove out all things by every Word of God [1 Thess 5:21), and we are NOT to follow any man who is not zealously following God the Father and Jesus Christ in ALL things.
11:7 For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
Yet we look to and obey men blindly and without question, following the false traditions of men, and idolizing men; exalting them above the Word of God our Father and our espoused Husband.
Tell me true; is it right to obey someone contrary to our spouse? Is the emotional and spiritual adultery of loving another more than our own spouse lawful?
Why then do we follow men in polluting the Sabbath; keeping God’s Feasts on the wrong days and rejecting whole sections of scripture by saying that they are only history and apply only to others?
11:8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not.
Today there is a great conspiracy in the spiritual Ekklesia to turn the brethren to the idolatry of exalting men above the Word of God; and a conspiracy to move into the false teachings of men.
We claim to be godly as we spurn any zeal to live by every Word of God the Father and Jesus Christ.
11:9 And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 11:10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
The unrepentant will be spewed out into the correction of great tribulation, and then even if they repent and cry out to God the Father; many of these folks will still not be delivered from the tribulation, but will have to prove their sincerity by dying to be faithful to the Word of God.
11:11 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.
Our idols of men, corporate entities and false traditions will not deliver us; why then do we put a vain trust in them and not put our trust in the Holy Deliverer of Israel?
11:12 Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble. 11:13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense burn unto Baal.
Pray not that these unrepentant who are being corrected by Christ should be saved out of their correction: Rather pray that they will repent and be saved spiritually.
11:14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
Because the brethren rejoice in their emotional and spiritual adultery with men and the false traditions of men, they are being rejected from being the Temple of God’s Spirit, into great correction by God the Father and Jesus Christ (Rev 3:16).
11:15 What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
God is kindling a fire among those who call themselves by his name, and are NOT zealous to learn and live by every Word of God. The unfruitful branches are being broken off and tossed into the fire (John 15).
11:16 The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it [in the apostate branches], and the [unfruitful men] branches of it are broken.
11:17 For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee [physical and spiritual Israel], hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.
The leaders then conspired against Jeremiah, rejecting his warnings. Today the the spiritual leaders of the Ekklesia do the very same thing today against God’s warnings.
11:18 And the LORD hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings [they conspired against the warnings]. 11:19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
Jeremiah seeks deliverance from God
11:20 But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
God responds that the wicked who will not heed the warnings to turn to the whole Word of God will die in great correction.
11:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand: 11:22 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine: 11:23 And there shall be no remnant of them [nothing will remain of the wicked and unrepentant]: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
Jeremiah asks why the wicked prosper and the righteous who seek to learn and keep the whole Word of God suffer. This question is also addressed by David in the Psalms, by Solomon in Ecclesiastes and by Job.
Jeremiah 12:1 Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
Today, very many of the spiritually called out speak of God and still will not keep God’s Word; instead they keep the false traditions of men.
12:2 Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.
Jeremiah asks God to save him from the wicked because of his zeal for God
12:3 But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
The idolaters who idolize men [today’s church of God groups] who claim to have the name of God; who neither turn from their sin, nor proclaim the whole Word of God to the nation have lost their savor of salt [acceptance] with God.
12:4 How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
If we think the brethren have a hard time now with their easy trials; how will they cope with the coming great affliction? Let us turn to and trust in our God and do his whole will, and he will deliver us from the grave to eternal life.
12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustest, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? 12:6 For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
Christ speaks of his beloved espoused bride who he is giving over to strong correction because of her emotional and spiritual adulteries; the apostate Called Out of the latter day Spiritual Ekklesia.
12:7 I have forsaken mine house [spiritual Temple, those who are quenching God’s Spirit], I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
We may pay lip-service to God but if we teach for doctrine the false traditions of men, we will be forsaken and corrected. We claim to be God’s heritage but we refuse to live by His Word.
12:8 Mine heritage is [become my adversary] unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it [God will correct his people for turning against Him].
As bird chicks will reject a chick which is different from them, God will reject His wayward people who have become different from Him; and God will allow the nations to attack physical and spiritual Israel in this latter day.
12:9 Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled [unacceptable, to be rejected] bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.
Many deceiving elders have despoiled the brethren, to lead them away from Christ-like zeal for the whole Word of God, and into a zeal to love and follow men and their false traditions.
And because we have not loved God our Father and our espoused Husband enough to learn and live by every Word of God, and we have not proved all things by every Word of God; we have been deceived and led astray from our Mighty One.
We have loved idols of men more than we have loved our God; for this and for our many spiritual adulteries we shall be afflicted.
Today as Jesus warned in Matthew 24, very many false pastors have infiltrated the called out spiritual Ekklesia and have deceived many away from their first love of TRUTH and GODLINESS, to follow corporate idols and false men
12:10 Many [false] pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion [God’s Called Out] under foot, they have made my pleasant portion [turned the Called Out away from their calling to learn and live by every Word of God and made them empty of spiritual understanding] a desolate wilderness. 12:11 They have made it desolate [made the congregations of God, empty of understanding], and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man [takes God’s Word seriously] layeth it to heart.
Therefore we are given up to extreme correction
12:12 The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
Then we shall be ashamed of our idols of men and we will seriously repent before the Lord our God.
12:13 They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
Then Messiah the Christ will come and remove those who occupy Palestine and bring his physical Israel out of their final captivity and give them the land. Repentant spiritual Israel will be resurrected from death into immortality and shall also receive their inheritance, entering into the Promised Land of eternal life.
12:14 Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
After we have been corrected, Messiah the Christ will come and we will be delivered by him.
12:15 And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
Then if we diligently learn to live by every Word of God and stand on the Eternal, to destroy our false idols of corporate entities, false teachings and deceitful men: We shall receive the birthright of our calling.
12:16 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear [declare] by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal [that Baal and our idols live and bring life if we follow them] ; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
12:17 But if they will not obey [the whole Word of God], I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation [or person], saith the LORD.
A parable against physical and spiritual Israel
God corrected physical Judah and Israel and God will them again for the same sins, and God will also correct spiritual Judah and Israel if they commit the same sins: and we are indeed filled up to the full with the same sins of stubborn self-willed pride in our own ways.
Jeremiah 13:1 Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water. 13:2 So I got a girdle [kilt] according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.
A practical demonstration lesson, showing that God will destroy the pride of Judah by Babylon.
13:3 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, 13:4 Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates [at that time Babylon], and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
13:5 So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.
This was an instructive example that as the kilt was damaged beyond repair through its burial by the Euphrates in Babylon; the pride of ancient Judah would be destroyed in Babylon on the Euphrates.
13:6 And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there. 13:7 Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
13:8 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 13:9 Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride [in their own ways and rebellion against God] of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
As Judah was corrected by ancient Babylon, today’s proud self-willed physical and spiritual Israel will be accounted good for nothing and cast away into great correction, until their stubborn self-willed pride in their own ways and their rebellious attitude against God are destroyed
13:10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
Because we have rejected our God and turned to false gods of men and institutional idols with their false traditions; we are good for nothing and will be cast into great correction, until our pride and stubborn self-will is destroyed.
13:11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
In these latter days the spiritual Ekklesia as well as the physical nations have become intoxicated with pride and self-righteousness; and we will fall into great and terrible correction.
13:12 Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine? 13:13 Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness. 13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
13:15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
Our foundational sin, like Sodom’s, is pride and doing our own ways; instead of having zeal to learn and to live by every Word of God.
May today’s spiritual Ekklesia repent quickly and humble ourselves before God and his Word, to glorify them far above our own thoughts.
13:16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains [of our own ways], and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
The physical and spiritual flock of Christ is carried away by their own arrogance and pride (Rev 3:16-20).
13:17 But if ye will not hear [will not repent] it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock is carried away captive.
As the cities of ancient Judah were destroyed; so the cities of latter day Judah and Israel shall fall, and apostate spiritual Israel shall fall with them; unless we humble ourselves before God and quickly sincerely repent.
13:18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down [our great cities will be destroyed], even the crown of your glory.
What happened to ancient Judah will happen to today’s nations of Israel and Judah, and will also happen to the church of God groups; because of their arrogant pride in rejecting the Word of God to worship [obey] men and false traditions above the whole Word of God.
13:19 The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.
Today’s physical and spiritual flock will be given over to the correction of great tribulation, as ancient Judah was given over to the correction of Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar.
13:20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
What will we say when we are corrected? Have we not thought ourselves to be great and righteous in our own eyes? Will we ask why this affliction has come upon us when we are despoiled and our leaders are fallen ?
Jesus Christ does not rejoice over the correction of his beloved; rather his heart is filled with sorrow that the correction is necessary to bring repentance and a revival of righteousness in physical Israel and the called out spiritual Ekklesia.
13:21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
When we are corrected will we continue in our self-righteous pride; and like Job ask God: Why has God done this to us for we are righteous and called by your name?
13:22 And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? [the answer from God is that we are corrected for our great iniquities] For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered [we are made naked and powerless before our enemies], and thy heels made bare.
God says that we are bent to do our own ways and to exalt ourselves instead of our Great Creator. We have become habitual evil doers in the nations and in the spiritual Ekklesia.
Spiritual Israel is addicted to following idols of men and not living by every Word of God, because we have been taught [brainwashed] to do so, and because giving up personal responsible for our salvation is the easy way. So we follow men contrary to the Word of God and we will fall into great correction for doing so.
Every person is directly and personally responsible for his every deed; there is no: “But I followed your minister, Lord”: Because a minister who does not follow Christ is NOT a minister of Christ! If we care so little for our relationship with Christ that we do not test men to see if they are following Christ; we deserve correction for following men contrary to Christ! Jesus aid:
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
If any person teach contrary to the Word of God he is the servant of sin, he is NOT the servant of God the Father or of Jesus Christ! Why then do we follow the servants of sin and we do not live by every Word of God?
Jeremiah 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that [the wicked do not live by every Word of God] are accustomed to do evil.
The unrepentant wicked who follow men and false traditions and will not grow in repentance and knowledge, will be burned up like the chaff on the threshing floor. The sincerely repentant and zealous to live by every Word of God are as the grain of wheat that are separated from the chaff and saved.
As the grain is winnowed and cast into the air so that the wind might blow away the chaff and leave the grain behind; so God will winnow his people to separate the faithful from the foolish.
13:24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.
The lot of the unrepentant wicked who turn from living by every Word of God to put their trust in false traditions and idols of men: is the rod of correction.
13:25 This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
Our garments of righteousness [which are the righteousness of the Word of God] have been removed by our sins, and the nakedness of our wickedness is exposed. For raiment represents godly righteousness (Rev 3:18, Rev 19:8)
13:26 Therefore will I discover thy skirts [lift up your skirt (remove the cloak of self righteousness hiding your sins) over your head to reveal you] upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.
Today’s church of God groups are overwhelmingly Laodicean; they are all hot for themselves, their leaders and their own ways; and they are COLD for learning and living by every Word of God in true enthusiastic zeal. We are full of adulteries against our espoused Husband; loving men and organizations MORE than we love our Husband, and following our corporate idols, false doctrines and idols of men, instead of being faithful to the Husband of our baptismal commitment.
13:27 I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?
The coming latter day famine
Those things that happened to Judah in Jeremiah’s day were but small fore-types of what is imminently coming in its fullness upon both physical and apostate spiritual Israel in this latter day.
Jeremiah 14:1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth [the famine].
14:2 Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry [wailing] of Jerusalem is gone up.
During the siege of ancient Jerusalem there was a great lack of water and food which was recorded as a warning for us in this latter day.
In this latter day because physical and spiritual Israel lack sincere repentance and will not live by every Word of God, and because Spiritual Israel has quenched the spiritual waters of the Holy Spirit; God will take away our rain and our physical water in the tribulation, and there will also be a dearth of the Holy Spirit and the knowledge of godliness in our people.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Because we did not hunger and thirst after the knowledge of the Word of God; we will be sent physical and spiritual drought and famine.
Matthew 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Because we have turned away from the Bread of Life; which is the internalizing of the nature of Jesus Christ and God the Father and coming into a full spiritual unity WITH THEM; through a diligent learning and an enthusiastic keeping of the whole Word of God; because we do not hunger and thirst after the righteousness of God, but are content to follow false traditions and idolize men: The Holy Spirit and our physical bread will be taken from us.
Because we do what is right in our own eyes and we do not live by every Word of God; we have quenched the waters of the Holy Spirit. Therefore our physical and spiritual waters will be dried up.
Jeremiah 14:3 And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads. 14:4 Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads. 14:5 Yea, the hind [cattle] also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass. 14:6 And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons [jackals]; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
May all people sincerely repent and turn to the Awesome Creator and live by every Word of God.
14:7 O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee. 14:8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night? 14:9 Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
Brethren, God the Father and Jesus Christ have been patient in bearing our iniquities; they will be patient no more, but will remember our turnings away from them to follow our idols of men and false traditions. The time of our correction is now at hand.
14:10 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
God the Father will no longer hear the prayers of those who continue in their sins and repent insincerely only to go right out and continue to do what is right in their own eyes; yet he will hear the prayers of those who repent sincerely and are truly zealous to learn and live by every Word of God.
14:11 Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good. 14:12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
Those who say that we are God’s people and as long as we obey some man and remain in some corporate group supporting them without question, even when they are contrary to the Word of God: we shall escape the tribulation: LIE!
It is loyalty to God and living by every Word of God that is important; loyalty to men contrary to the Word of God is a trap and a snare of Satan to lead us astray.
14:13 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place. 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
Those who speak contrary to the Word of God, and say that the brethren who blindly follow men will see no tribulation or correction for they are righteous and in need of nothing spiritual (Rev 3:16-20); are ignorant of the real state of their relationship with God, and they are spiritually blind and spiritually wretched and naked of godly righteousness; for their righteousness is in their own minds and is NOT a godly righteousness.
14:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
Just as ancient Judah was corrected, today’s brethren who follow deceitful men and their false traditions, will also be corrected severely.
14:16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
This is the correction that will come upon physical Israel and apostate spiritual Israel, in this latter day.
14:17 Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow. 14:18 If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.
Then in today’s severe tribulation, physical and spiritual Israel will sincerely repent and they will turn from worshiping [obeying] idols of men, to learning and living by every Word of God.
14:19 Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble! 14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee. 14:21 Do not abhor us, for thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.
Then we shall acknowledge that God the Father and Jesus Christ and the whole Word of God, are far above the false traditions of men; and we will reject our idols of men and corporations, to zealously and enthusiastically learn and live by every Word of God; regardless of what men may teach contrary to God’s Word.
Only God can give us physical rain. and only God can rain His Holy Spirit down upon us.
14:22 Are there any among the vanities [false gods, idols] of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
If physical Israel is to go forth to great correction, how much more will spiritual Israel be corrected?
When they commit the same sins as ancient and modern Judah; Spiritual Israel, who are supposed to have God’s law written on their very hearts and are supposed to have God’s Spirit and are supposed to know better, shall be cast into great correction indeed.
Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Jesus Christ is about to vomit unrepentant apostate Spiritual Israel out of his body [His spiritual Ekklesia] and into great correction (Rev 3:14-20).
Jeremiah 15:1 Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
Today’s physical and spiritual Israel and Judah are full of the same sins as the ancients, and are to be given over to great correction of the tribulation to humble us and crush our massive pride into contrition and sincere repentance.
15:2 And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity. 15:3 And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
This correction of great tribulation is coming upon physical Judah and Israel and upon the apostate latter day Spiritual Ekklesia for our many sins.
15:4 And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.
As physical Judah has forsaken her God; today’s spiritually called out have forsaken the Husband of our espousal; exalting false traditions and the worship [obedience] of idols of men; loving the teachings of men more than we love our espoused Husband and the Word of God.
15:5 For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest? 15:6 Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.
Messiah the Christ will separate the unrepentant from the zealous to live by every Word of God; fanning away the chaff to rejection, and saving the wholesome grain of the zealous for the whole Word of God.
15:7 And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people since they return not from their ways.
Our fall will come suddenly at a time when we think that a period of peace has come (1 Thess 5:3).
15:8 Their widows are increased [because of the death of many men] to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.
Very many men will die
15:9 She that hath borne seven languisheth [because her sons have died]: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down [she has lost her husband and therefore can have no more sons, because there are few men left] while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
The whole world will despise and curse physical and spiritual Israel.
15:10 Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.
At the coming of Christ with his resurrected Chosen, the nations will repent and shall kindly treat repentant Israel.
15:11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
All we have shall be given to others because of our great sins.
15:12 Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel? 15:13 Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.
Many will be taken away captive to far lands, especially those of Judah many of whom will be removed from Palestine. When Judea is occupied by the New Europe and her allies, the Palestinian’s will cry “take them off our land” and many will be removed.
15:14 And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.
Those who are zealous to live by every Word of God and heed the warnings, will be delivered from this correction.
15:15 O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.
15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat [internalize the whole word of God] them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
The zealous for the whole Word of God are to be properly filled with indignation at the false traditions and idolatry of today’s spiritual Ekklesia, and very many are forced to stand alone upon the Word of God.
15:17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
The zealous mourn for their friends who have turned aside to worship [obey] men, and God says; if they sincerely repent he will accept them. Christ proclaims that the brethren should return unto to him, and that the zealous should NOT turn to follow the ways of their wicked friends.
Jesus Christ commands us to learn to make a difference between the holy and the profane; to reject profane false doctrines in favour of the sound doctrine of the whole Word of God.
15:18 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail? 15:19 Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth [separate] the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.
Jesus Christ will ultimately deliver the sincerely repentant who are zealous for godliness from death itself.
15:20 And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 15:21 And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.
Jeremiah is told that he should not marry or have any children in Jerusalem because of the approaching siege by Babylon.
This is also good instruction for all those who find themselves in the tribulation. Remember it is the apostates that will be in the tribulation and will be afflicted with strong correction from God the Father and Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah 16:1 The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying, 16:2 Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.
The suffering will be intense and if we love children there is no way we would want to bring them into such a situation.
16:3 For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land; 16:4 They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
Because today’s apostate Spiritual Ekklesia worship [follow and obey] idols of men and love men and institutions more than they love God, so that we follow the false traditions of men and reject any scripture not supporting such false traditions; Jesus Christ is rejecting them into great affliction of the flesh in the hope that they might repent and the spirit might be saved (Rev 3:16-21).
16:5 For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies. 16:6 Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them: 16:7 Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
Here Christ commands us not to go up to the Feasts with these wicked men; who come before God on the weekly Sabbath and annual Festivals, only to continue to rebel and do what is right in their own eyes, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men.
The time is quickly coming when God’s two servants will call upon the godly to leave today’s unrepentant assemblies of the spiritual Ekklesia.
16:8 Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
Very very soon, Jesus Christ will cause all rejoicing on God’s Sabbaths and Festivals to cease, because of all our rebellions against living by every Word of God.
16:9 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
When the elders and leaders and brethren ask why Christ would do such a thing and claim that they are righteous and bear God’s name;
16:10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
Because we have NOT been zealous for learning and doing the whole Word of God.
16:11 Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods [in the latter day this refers to following idols of men], and have served them, and have worshipped [obeyed men and not God] them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
Just like ancient Judah, today’s church of God factions are truly full of idolatry, worshiping [obeying] men and not God; they call the Sabbath holy and then openly pollute it, and many other sins do they do.
16:12 And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me: 16:13 Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
Jesus Christ will come and gather together his Chosen who were zealously faithful to live by every Word of God, in a resurrection to eternal life.
After this coming tribulation which will humble the people and bring them to sincere repentance, Jesus Christ will come and will deliver all the repentant of physical and spiritual Israel, and all humanity will be grafted into a spiritual Israel.
16:14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 16:15 But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
The resurrected Chosen will teach all nations to learn and live by every Word of God and shall lead them by the hand into obedience to God.
16:16 Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
God sees our every deed and we are recompensed according to our works, either for good or for evil.
16:17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
First the physical and spiritual Israel will be corrected and humbled, and then whole earth will be humbled.
16:18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.
Then the whole earth will repent at the coming of Christ.
16:19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
The great tribulation is to correct the apostate church of God factions which have turned away from the Husband of their espousal to follow idols of men; it will also correct physical Israel; and finally it is to correct and humble all nations and people, to prepare the way for the coming of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.
16:20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 16:21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
The sins of Judah are engraved on their hearts to rebel against their God; and so it is with the latter day church of God groups who have been thoroughly indoctrinated to obey and idolize men instead of loving and living by every Word of God.
Jeremiah 17:1 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars; 17:2 Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
God the Father and Jesus Christ love us so much that they are deeply jealous because of our spiritual adulteries and they are angered by our spiritual adultery to idolize men and love men and their teachings more than we love the Word of God and the Husband of our spiritual espousal.
17:3 O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders. 17:4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage [the birthright of our calling] that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
Why will we follow and obey men contrary to the Word and ways of God the Father and our espoused Husband who we committed to follow fully at our baptism? Why will we separate ourselves from our Mighty Lord to follow after false idols of men and the traditions of men? Why will we follow men blindly away from the whole Word of God? Why do we not obey the Word of God and prove all things by every Word of God to learn and keep only what is true by God’s Word?
17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 17:6 For he [who trusts in men and not in the whole word of God] shall be like the heath [dry sagebrush] in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
The sincerely zealous to learn and live by every Word of God; will by the learning and the doing, internalize the very nature of God the Father and Jesus Christ, to become ONE with them in true spiritual unity. Such a person is greatly blessed.
17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Think carefully on the following: Do today’s leaders in the Spiritual Ekklesia delight in zeal for the law and for every Word of God?
Even those who claim that they do; in reality, talk the talk, but they DO NOT walk the walk, they teach for commandments the traditions of men and they love those who love and follow them, but they persecute those who are truly zealous to live by every Word of God.
Blessed is the man who does not walk [live] by the counsel of those who belittle sound doctrine and condemn zeal for the whole Law and Word of God! Blessed is the person who does not follow those who compromise with the Word of God. Blessed is the one who does not persecute and heap scorn on those who are zealous to live by every Word of God.
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Blessed is the person who takes delight in the whole Word of God and thinks deeply on every Word of God, day and night continually.
1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Those who study to learn and keep the whole Word of God, making it their delight and pondering on it continually, are drinking up the righteousness of God like a tree drinks up water; and as the well watered tree bears much fruit, so the zealous for the whole Word of God will bear much spiritual fruit.
1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Those who neglect the Word of God to do as they think is right and to follow the ways and false teachings of men and false doctrine; are like the chaff of the threshing floor; fit only to be rejected, removed and burned.
1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away
1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous
1:6 For the Lord knoweth [keeps, secures] the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
The ways of men are contrary to the ways of God. Those who are devoted to worldliness are focused on worldliness. Those who love God are focused on every Word of God.
Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
To be worldly minded and to focus on worldliness and not on the spiritual things of God is the way to death. To be focused on learning and keeping the whole Word of God, is to grow into spiritual unity with God and is life eternal
8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Worldliness is contrariness to the whole Word of God and cannot be reconciled to God, it is rebellion against the ways of God. This is Satan’s world at this time, and to be worldly is to be like Satan and to resist the Word of God.
The carnally minded worldly, do as they think right instead of what God says is right
8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
They that are focused on physical pursuits and on doing as they think right, instead of on complete spiritual unity with the Father and Christ; cannot please God
8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
The partridge often abandons her eggs after a time; the religious man who over time abandons living by every Word of God to acquire physical riches through sin will lose them in the end.
The leader who builds a great organization by demanding the excessive sacrifice of others through spiritual extortion, may have a few physical riches for a short time; but he has no spiritual riches stored up in heaven. He has had his day and it is quickly over.
17:11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
Those who put their trust in God the Father and Jesus Christ, to learn and live by every Word of God, will obtain the good reward of eternal life.
17:12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
Those who follow men and false traditions away from the Word of God the Father and Jesus Christ the Husband of our baptismal espousal, shall be brought to shame; and if they will not repent of idolizing men they will lose out on the first large resurrection to spirit.
17:13 O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
The sincerely repentant and the zealous for godliness, cry out to the Eternal for spiritual healing and mercy.
17:14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
When the people are humbled, they will ask to be taught the Word of the Lord.
17:15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
Jeremiah says that he was not seeking to be a prophet of God, nor has he desired the strong correction that is coming; yet he was faithful to say those things that God required him to say.
17:16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
Jeremiah pleads that he was faithful to do as he was told, and asks Christ to care for him. Jeremiah put his trust in God and not in false traditions and idols of men. Therefore he was persecuted by the church of God of his day.
17:17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil. 17:18 Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
Jeremiah is commanded by Jesus Christ to speak out concerning the Sabbath day.
17:19 Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
Physical Israel and Spiritual Israel are commanded to do no work on the Sabbath day; and that includes paying others to serve us.
17:20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates: 17:21 Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden [do any work of any kind] on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; 17:22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 17:23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
On Sabbaths and annual High Days we are not do any work of any kind and we are not to cause others to do any work of any kind, either by commanding them to work or by paying them to work; and that includes the stranger [the unconverted] who might be working anyway.
Just because a person is willing to work anyway does not justify us paying them to serve us; This is no different than paying a thief to steal because they are going to steal anyway.
20:10 But the seventh day [Friday sunset to Saturday sunset] is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work [of any kind], thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
The seventh day is holy as a memorial of Creation and is prophetic of a millennial rest to come.
20:11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
If we obey Christ and do no work on the weekly of annual Sabbaths, nor pay others to work for us, we will be spiritually blessed.
The only work that is permitted on God’s Sabbath’s are those things specifically commanded by God for the Sabbath and acts of mercy.
Jeremiah 17:24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein; 17:25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
If we would be zealous for the Sabbath, instead of calling it holy and then polluting it with cooking and paying others to serve us; if we would speak of godly things, instead of speaking only about physical things which we have six days to speak of; we would be greatly blessed.
17:26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
Just as Christ destroyed Jerusalem [by the sword of Nebuchadnezzar] for the Sabbath breaking of Judah; so he will destroy today’s physical Judah and Israel, and the called out Spiritual Ekklesia factions for their Sabbath breaking.
Jesus Christ is even angrier at today’s spiritual Ekklesia, because we are quenching His Holy Spirit when we call the Sabbath holy and proceed to pollute it, therefore being without excuse for polluting God’s Holy Time.
And if we say that some man or organization says our Sabbath activities are alright: We are idolizing that man or organization and following them instead of being faithful to the Word of God. This compounds the sin of Sabbath breaking, adding idolatry to the list.
17:27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
The Master Potter analogy and the Greatness of God the Father and Jesus Christ
Jeremiah 18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
By virtue of having created all things, God the Father and Jesus Christ have absolute ownership and authority over physical and spiritual Israel, indeed over their entire creation; to do as they please in the creative process of molding us into the vessels they require us to be.
18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
Here we are given a chance to save ourselves through sincere repentance and turning away from idolizing men and their false traditions; to turn to zealously learn and live by every Word of God.
18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
If anyone turns away from enthusiastic zeal to learn and perform the whole Word of God, they shall be rejected; and that includes the church of God Groups and individual sinners.
18:9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; 18:10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
The godly zealous are commanded to give this warning to both physical and spiritual Israel. If we commit the same sins as ancient Judah we shall surely be strongly corrected like they were.
18:11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good [according to the whole Word of God].
As the folks in the days of Jeremiah refused to repent; so today’s physical and spiritual Israel reject the warnings and refuse to repent; choosing instead to cleave to their idols of men, organizations and the false traditions of men; continuing in sin against the Word of God.
18:12 And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
Who has heard of anyone forsaking drinking the water essential for physical life, which is a type of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God essential for eternal life?
18:13 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing. 18:14 Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?
Because today’s called out Spiritual Ekklesia will not repent and will not warn the nations to repent and live by every Word of God, instead seeking followers of themselves contrary to the Word of God; we shall be made desolate.
18:15 Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense [offering prayers without living by every Word of God] to vanity, and they [leaders and elders] have caused them to stumble [taught people to follow them instead of teaching us to live by God’s Word] in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up; 18:16 To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head. 18:17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.
The people then conspired against Jeremiah, claiming that they were righteous and godly; just as the Spiritual Ekklesia of today resists and conspires against the true warning; telling the brethren not to listen to God’s warning and persecuting many who are zealous for the teachings [sound doctrine] and Word of God.
18:18 Then said they, Come and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
Jeremiah does not back down or turn aside from obeying God to proclaim his warnings; he calls upon God to help him. He does not compromise when facing trials or persecution. No, he clings to God and every Word of God, to zealously and diligently do the will of God. We should follow that example and not compromise because we are having trials, but in trtials we should redouble our efforts to please our God.
18:19 Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.
Because I warn of the impending storm should I suffer at your hands for my love for you?
18:20 Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them.
Because physical and spiritual Israel will not repent in this latter day; because spiritual Israel rejects the warnings to sincerely repent and seeks to prevent people from repentance; they shall be given over to great correction.
18:21 Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle. 18:22 Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
Jeremiah asks that the wicked who will not repent and then they persecute the righteous for their warnings be corrected.
Jesus Christ came in the flesh to reveal the spirit and intent of the law. Today I pray, not that anyone should be destroyed; but that the sin should be destroyed and that all would repent and be saved.
I know that only a very few will sincerely repent at this time; the main fruit of this work will be in the great tribulation when many will remember these warnings and sincerely repent of idolizing men and corporate churches and will turn to a diligent study of God’s Word and a true enthusiastic zeal for all the teachings and commandments of the whole Word of God.
I am not under any illusions, perhaps a few hundred will go to the place that God’s two servants instruct; the vast majority will not heed the warnings and turn to a true sincere zeal for every Word of God.
It is in the tribulation, when their fears have come upon them and their traditions have not saved them, and their organizations have collapsed; that they will be humbled and turn to their Mighty One in sincere repentance and Christ-like zeal to live by every Word of God.
18:23 Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee [if they remain unrepentant]; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.
All scripture was recorded for US today; ALL scripture is applicable to US today; either as instruction or as an example that if we do what others have done we will reap the same consequences.
1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
This lesson is for US as well as those people in the days of Jeremiah.
The sentence that is pronounced against Jerusalem was fulfilled when the city was destroyed by Babylon, and was only partly fulfilled by the Roman destruction of the city.
The fullness of this sentence against the city remains to be fulfilled during the coming 42 months of great tribulation.
This sentence is against Jerusalem and against both physical Israel and against today’s church of God factions of spiritual Israel, who have turned away from living by every Word of God to follow idols of men and corporate entities with their false traditions.
This sentence of Jesus Christ against the latter day Spiritual Ekklesia and the physical nations is so incredible; so extreme that it is blood chilling.
Oh that the brethren and leaders of today’s Ekklesia – today’s thoroughly Laodicean Ekklesia – which loves the false traditions of men more than they love God; would repent and cry out in deep sorrow for their evil ways. Oh that we would repent and turn to Christ-like zeal to live by every Word of God so that we might be spared.
Chapter 19 is clear and forthright in its horrors, and needs no further explanation; except to say that this evil is coming upon us for our worship of our idols of men and our lack of enthusiastic zeal to live by every Word of God.
Jeremiah 19:1 Thus saith the LORD, Go and get a potter’s earthen bottle, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests; 19:2 And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee,
As strong correction came upon those who departed from a zeal to live by every Word of God in those ancient days; the same strong correction will come upon today’s physical and spiritual Israel for our departure from a dedicated Christ-like zeal to live by every Word of God.
19:3 And say, Hear ye the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle.
Judah and the Israelite nations and Jerusalem – both physical and spiritual – will be severely corrected and will fall in a great slaughter by God’s rod of correction, the New Europe.
19:4 Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents; 19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind: 19:6 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter.
19:7 And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth. 19:8 And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.
Just as there was a terrible famine in Jeremiah’s time and again in Jerusalem during the Roman siege, there will be a terrible famine for us today, as promised by God in Deuteronomy 28.
19:9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.
19:10 Then shalt thou break the bottle in the sight of the men that go with thee, 19:11 And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a potter’s vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury them in Tophet, till there be no place to bury.
19:12 Thus will I do unto this place, saith the LORD, and to the inhabitants thereof, and even make this city as Tophet: 19:13 And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
19:14 Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, whither the LORD had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the LORD’s house; and said to all the people, 19:15 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.
Jeremiah is attacked and persecuted for warning the people. Nothing has changed; today’s leaders do the same thing against the zealous for God.
Jeremiah 20:1 Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house [Temple] of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things. 20:2 Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.
Jeremiah prophecies against the governor of the Temple of God; which today is spiritually, the leaders of the called out Spiritual Ekklesia who reject the warnings and have the same unrepentant attitude as Pashur did.
20:3 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magormissabib [terror on every side].
Jesus Christ will apply the Rod of Babylon [the New Europe] to the unrepentant brethren of today; who are apostate from him; loving men more than loving God, and living by the false traditions of men.
As the principle men of Judah were carried away to Babylon at that time, in this latter day many of the principle men of Judah will be deported from Palestine.
20:4 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
Jesus Christ corrected those who rebelled against God without having his Spirit at that time; how much more will he despoil those of the spiritual Ekklesia to whom he has given the Spirit of God, only to have them turn away from any zeal to live by every Word of God?
20:5 Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.
Pashur died in Babylon and today’s unrepentant leaders and elders of the called out Spiritual Ekklesia who have gone astray and led the brethren astray, will be afflicted in the next few years; together with all those that love them and follow them, idolizing these idols of men instead of being zealous to live by every Word of God.
Today we have become man worshipers, obeying men above the Word of God; loving men more than we love the Husband of our baptismal espousal.
We are emotional and spiritual adulterers against our espoused Husband; WE ARE IDOLATERS, who have exalted men, corporate entities and the false traditions of men above the Word of Almighty God.
20:6 And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies [Pashur would perish because he falsely said – just as the wicked elders of the called out Spiritual Ekklesia say today – that if the brethren remain loyal to idols of men, they shall not see the correction of the tribulation].
Jeremiah cries out that he is persecuted for warning the people and attacked for his zeal for the Word of God.
20:7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me. 20:8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
Because of the strong resistance of the brethren of that time, Jeremiah got discouraged and decided to keep quiet; yet the Word of God was as a burning fire in his heart and in his mouth, he could not keep silent in zeal for the truth and for the Word of God.
Let me say here that it is the same with me; any who thought that I was a flash in the night and will soon be silent are wrong; I will not keep silent as long as I live.
20:9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
20:10 For I heard the defaming [attacks] of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars [those who know me] watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
God will help all those who proclaim His Word until His work is completed.
20:11 But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
The Eternal will take up the cause of his faithful servants.
20:12 But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.
The lovers of the Eternal and all God’s Word will rejoice greatly in God and in God’s deliverance.
20:13 Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor [poor in the spirit of rebellion, see our Beatitudes studies] from the hand of evildoers.
Jeremiah mourns the fact that he is persecuted and mocked on all sides for his zeal for the Mighty One of Jacob.
This mourning is not so much over his own suffering, his mourning is for the unrepentant people and what they will suffer for their wickedness. He desires, as I do; that the apostates and idolaters among the people called to godliness would sincerely repent and turn to the Husband of their baptismal espousal with a whole heart, to do God’s will and to learn and live by every Word of God.
20:14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed. 20:15 Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad. 20:16 And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide; 20:17 Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.
20:18 Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
