Israel Hamas Prepare for War: 34 Hamas Sites Bombed Last Night

UPDATE 12:30 EDT:  Hundreds of thousands come out for funeral which is being delayed by the masses of people arriving.

The abductions and killings are being turned into a propaganda cause celeb for war against Hamas, even though Hamas was not involved in this operation by an independent “Rogue” organization.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to deliver a brief statement on Monday at 8:30 p.m. [13:30 EDT] in Tel Aviv before convening the security cabinet.

At least four mortar shells and a number of rockets were fired from Gaza as the funeral began.

Israel Hamas Prepare for War:  34 Hamas Sites Bombed Last Night

Monday night, June 30, the Israeli Air Force bombed 34 Hamas and Jihad Islami facilities in the Gaza Strip while, in the West Bank town of Hebron, soldiers demolished the homes of the abductors.  The Gaza people had evacuated the  buildings and gone to combat positions in anticipation of the attacks saving them selves from heavy casualties.

In response early Tuesday morning, five rockets fired from Gaza landed in southern Israel. Later, at around 8:00 a.m. the army confirmed that an additional four rockets landed north of the town of Sderot. One of the rockets caused a fire in a field which firefighters extinguished and another damaged a road. There were no casualties on either side.

The IAF airstrikes targeted Hamas and Islamic Jihad assets in the Gaza Strip including a Hamas headquarters complex in Rafah, Hamas residential structures, and a weapons storage facility.  Palestinian media sources reported several power outages throughout the Gaza Strip following the massive airstrike.

Forensic findings on the body of one of the three teenage boys abducted and murdered on June 12 show that the boy put up “meaningful resistance” to his attackers, reported news site Walla on Tuesday, citing a source who was involved in the process of identifying the bodies of the teens.

According to an IDF source, after the boys entered the abductors’ vehicle at the Alon Shvut intersection at Gush Etzion, the vehicle traveled west, then made a U-turn toward Hevron.

Shortly after, one of the boys called police, and shots were fired. The abductors apparently realized that police had been alerted and assumed that they would shortly be tracked down. The young men were probably killed in the struggle and later dumped from the car burying them under rocks, as they got away from the area as fast as they could. They had no way of knowing that the emergency call had been mishandled by police, and that the search for the boys would not begin until eight hours later.

The Israeli finding of the kidnappers yesterday turned out to be a false alarm and twenty days after the event the perpetrators could be anywhere from Gaza to New York..

On Friday morning after the abduction, the car involved in the abduction was found near the Palestinian Arab settlement of Dura, along with a rifle and ammunition casings.

Separate funeral processions will set out from the homes of the three teens in Talmon, Elad and Nof Ayalon at 3:30 p.m. [08:30 am EDT].  The funeral is set for 5:00 p.m. [10:00 am EDT] at Modi’in Cemetery; and the cabinet is waiting until after the funeral which will further inflame the situation to take a final decision on action.
