IDF Begins Intensive Airstrikes on Gaza: “Operation Protective Edge”

The Israel Defense Forces announced after midnight Monday that it has launched a major operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The operation has been given the code name “Operation Protective Edge.”

The operation at this stage will consist of a heavy bombardment of Gaza by air, sea and land artillery, combined with possible land incursions.

That is expected to bring an escalation from the Gaza side with rockets on Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the North.  Such rocket fire on the North has been set as an Israeli trip line for a full scale land invasion and reoccupation of the strip to annihilate the Gaza militant groups.
