Today the IDF placed an Iron Dome anti-missile battery in the Carmel region near Haifa on Friday; this is in addition to two other Iron Dome batteries deployed i9n the Haifa area last weekend.
The top US military officer, General Martin Dempsey, spoke with his Egyptian and Israeli counterparts Lieutenant General Sedki Sobhi, chief of staff of Egypt’s armed forces and Israel’s military chief, Lieutenant General Benny Gantz repeatedly on Thursday and Friday.
An Egyptian Clash With Radical Islam is Beginning
The overthrow of Morsi was well planned with 30 tanks and many armoured vehicles brought into Sinai along with large numbers of troops fully coordinated with Israel and Israeli military buildups on the borders of Sinai and Gaza, well before the ultimatum to Morsi.
The ultimatum itself gave him only 48 hours to resolve the political situation when the Western backed anti Morsi party’s were refusing to even talk to Morsi. This was a “spontaneous” series of demonstrations deliberate rigged by Western countries specifically designed to bring down Morsi so that an offensive against Islamic extremists could be launched in Sinai and Gaza. The ultimatum was deliberately designed to be impossible to fulfill
This was a Western backed coup from the beginning as most of the demonstrators were from Youth Movements financed by American NGO’s and other foreign intelligence assets.
Morsi a American asset was overthrown for his recalcitrance in rooting out the Islamic radicals in Egypt, particularly in Sinai; and his resistance to an Israeli invasion of Gaza.
What is occurring in Egypt is an illegal but necessary revolution which is intended to wipe out Islamic Extremism in Egypt and Gaza.
While the battle of the demonstrators takes place in Egyptian squares, the real battle against Islamic extremism is raging in Egypt especially in Sinai; largely uncovered by the media due to Egyptian and Israeli news blackouts.
After deposing Morsi the army arrested at least 300 Islamic radicals in Egypt proper and took out public TV in Gaza while sealing off the Gaza border. Nilesat an Egyptian company, that controls a series of Egyptian communications satellites, has removed Hamas TV al Quds from the air.
Egyptian and Israeli armies Friday, July 5, went to their highest alert levels on either side of the Sinai border after Islamic extremists inside and outside the Muslim Brotherhood declared Sinai their center of revolt and revenge for the Egyptian army’s ouster of Mohamed Morsi as president Wednesday, July 3.
After firing Gen. Rifat Shahtaeh as chief of intelligence, Egypt’s defense
minister Friday appointed Gen. Muhammed Tohami in his place. Gen.
Shahtaeh was a Morsi appointee.
Egypt and Israel have imposed a blackout on news from this region, but reports are coming that Israeli reinforcements are being mobilized along the Sinai and Gaza borders to boost the existing IDF units along the Egyptian Gaza borders.
Egypt’s Third Army under the command of Maj. Gen. Osama Askar. was deployed to secure and shut down all three traffic tunnels running from the mainland to Sinai under the Suez Canal.
Measures to protect Suez Canal shipping against possible rocket fire from central Sinai have been taken, including the stationing along its banks of Patriot anti-missile batteries and anti-air weapons systems.
These emergency measures were taken Friday after radicals within and outside the Muslim Brotherhood established a Sinai “War Council” to mount a rebellion against the army in collaboration with the radical Palestinian Hamas and Jihad Islami as well as the al Qaeda-linked Salafist groups in the Gaza Strip and Sinai.
The radicals are attempting to transform the Sinai Peninsula into an autonomous no go area for Egyptian forces, and a base for attacking Israel.
The Brotherhood is holding mass demonstrations of supporter in Egyptian cities to distract and tie up the army with maintaining security in the mainland cities of Cairo, Alexandria and the Nile Delta, with few troops to spare for Sinai.
The new Sinai War Council set up by Islamic radicals released a video tape threatening that they would target any army and police personnel found in Sinai in retribution for the military coup.
Maj. Gen Ahmad Wasfi, head of the Egyptian Second Army, said after an emergency meeting at the headquarters of Defense Minister Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi Friday that the Egyptian army “would use force to prevent the creation of an Islamic caliphate in Sinai.”
The new Islamist coalition launched its “revolt” Thursday night, July 4, by firing two Grad rockets at Eilat. They exploded harmlessly outside Israel’s southernmost town.
Israel’s military spokesman has drawn a curtain of secrecy around the event. However, the IDF’s Adom Brigade and its three sub-units, along with the Gaza division, are known to have been placed on high alert.
The Islamist Sinai War Council struck again Friday morning, with a multiple attack by Salafist gunmen associated with Hamas and Jihad Islami in northern Sinai. They fired rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and heavy machine guns at Egyptian military intelligence headquarters in Rafah and El Arish airport as well as several Egyptian military and border guard facilities.
It is reported that they attacked in wave after wave, the gunmen shooting from heavy machine guns and rocket launchers mounted on minivan. Army helicopter gun ships were finally brought in to halt the assault by firing a rocket at the attackers and driving them off.
