Late yesterday Turkey backed down releasing a statement in which the Turkish air force said its air traffic control for the area where a Russian Su-24 was downed on Tuesday did not identify the warplane and thus ordered a pair of Turkish F-16s to shoot it down. Ankara also sent Russia a long apology and expression of condolences by phone from Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov but Turkey refuses to provide an official written apology. In comments to reporters after speaking with Cavusoglu, Lavrov said, “We do not plan to go to war with Turkey, our attitude toward the Turkish people has not changed.”

During the visit of president Putin to Tehran it was decided to go ahead with the export of teh S-300 air defense system to Iran.
While NATO gave lip-service to Turkey the organization is split. Czech President Milos Zeman, denounced the Turkish action and reminded the world of Turkey’s dubious past with Islamic State. Others called Turkey “trigger happy.” Required to support Turkey because of NATO most European countries are fully supportive of Russian actions against the Islamic Extremists, while the US seems dedicated to creating an east west confrontation. Meanwhile Turkey is backing down and claiming it does not want any trouble with Russia.
Turkmen announcements of their execution of two Russian pilots may have been subterfuge to discourage searches. One pilot now appears to have been rescued by Russian special forces.

Breaking 12:30 EST: The deputy commander of the Syrian Turkmen brigades, a Syrian rebel group, said his fighters captured and executed the pilots of the Russian Su-24 warplane that was shot down by Turkish F-16 jets on Tuesday morning. He said the fighters were from the Alwiya al-Ashar, or the 10th Brigade, of the Syrian Turkmen army.

A new Islamic State video released Thursday warns of an impending attack on New York City. The video mentions Times Square and purports to show an explosive device being put together and a bomber zipping his jacket over a suicide belt. The New York City Police Department said it was aware of the video and was deploying additional members of its new anti-terrorism squad out of an abundance of caution.
The Islamic State does its best to keep its threats and It would easy to imagine the carnage one or several suicide bombers could cause in the packed Times Square Christmas shopping frenzy. 17 NOV: France invokes article 42.7 in the EU Treaty, which requires all states to offer aid and assistance “as they are able”.
After Russia confirmed that their airliner was brought down by a bomb over Sinai they are now pounding the Islamists in Syria.
Russia is testing out all of its weaponry in Syria, today firing 34 air launched cruise missiles at Raqqa. All holding back has ended as France, the US coalition and Russia Syria are moving to destroy Islamic Extremism.
“We are conducting a mass airstrike campaign against Islamic State targets in Syria. We have now doubled the number of sorties, which is allowing us to conduct operations throughout the length and breadth of the country,” Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said during a Security Council meeting in Moscow chaired by the Russian president.
Shoigu said that Russia’s Tu-95, Tu-22 and Tu-160 strategic bombers have been brought into the operation, while the Air Force command added that the strike group has been bolstered with 37 new planes, including Su-34 bombers and Su-27 fighter jets.

Yesterday the US Navy announced the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its strike group to the Middle East. 16 NOV: Israel had warned the Jewish community in France Friday morning of the impending attacks. It is also being reported that France received multiple warnings from various countries before the attacks. They knew the attacks were coming but the warnings were not specific enough to be helpful in terms of prevention.
The British government announced Sunday that it is sending a special force to Paris to assist elite French units. It has also deployed members of its Special Reconnaissance Regiment in the centers of major cities, train stations and other public sites in Britain.
The Defense Ministry in Paris announced that 10 French warplanes had dropped 20 bombs on the ISIS Syrian command and control center, ammo depot and training center in Raqqa Sunday night.
15 NOV: The Pentagon claims that a US drone has killed the Islamic State’s commander in Libya, Abu Nabil al-Anbari, near the eastern Libyan town of Darna, Anbari, whose personal name was Wisam al-Zubaidi, was one of the closest and most trusted ades of ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.
The G-20 summit of the world’s biggest economies will begin in Turkey on Sunday, with terrorism expected to dominate the agenda in the aftermath of the attacks in Paris. The summit is also expected to address the massive migration of refugees to Europe, the civil war in Syria and economic matters. A main topic at the meeting is expected to be joint action against the Islamic State, Al Qaeda and Islamic Extremism.
The adoption of a plan to resolve the situation in Syria and crafting of a list of Islamic Extremist organizations Saturday opens the way for joint action against Islamic Extremists by the G 20. [There is no guarantee that after the Islamists are destroyed the Syria negotiations will not break down.]
Meanwhile Israel is using the Paris attacks for a propaganda blitz against terrorism in preparation for future actions against Gaza.
The timing of the Paris attacks is highly suspicious and certainly not helpful to the Islamists. Its intended purpose seems to have been to unify opposition against the Islamists. Events are obviously being manipulated by secret powers [perhaps spiritual powers] in high places.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the attacks by gunmen and suicide bombers across Paris could change priorities in Washington and other NATO capitals. “The world is changing, and this shock, the shake-up that took place in Paris will probably … change a little bit the scale of priorities of our colleagues in Washington in other NATO capitals,” he said when asked whether the attack would bring the US and Russia closer together. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a G20 summit in Turkey.

Russian Deputy FM Mikhail Bogdanov, however, says that the US and Russian lists are in large measure the same, suggesting the disagreements aren’t nearly as broad as anticipated. Bogdanov added that several factions within the Free Syrian Army (FSA) are being urged to join the process by Russia.

The attacks are an apparent response to the drone killing of the Islamic State executioner yesterday and air attacks by the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle on the IS in Syria. The attacks are highly likely to galvanize the whole world against the Islamic State.
French police are preparing to place areas of Paris under curfew Friday night as the city comes under multiple terrorist attack with at least 60 dead, hundreds injured and around 1,100 taken hostage. French President Francois Hollande said that in view of the unprecedented assault, he has ordered French borders closed, halted air and rail traffic and mobilized the army under a state of emergency. Three locations were initially targeted but there may be twice as many.
A shootout at a Paris restaurant near the Charlie Hebdo magazine left 11 dead. Then two explosions possibly by suicide bombers hit a bar near the football stadium during a French-German match. President Francois Hollande was evacuated from the stadium and has called an emergency cabinet meeting at midnight. At the Bataclan Theater, two gunmen fired 20 shots during a rock concert killing at least 15 people and have taken hostages from the audience which they are said to be killing one by one. A shooting is also reported at Les Halles shopping mall in the town center and incidents near the Louvre and the Pompidou Center.

BREAKING 13:20 EST: Father and son murdered near Hevron
The IDF begins massive reserve mobilizations in January. Up to 70 battalions to be called up to clamp down on West Bank. This fulfills the first phase of the Hezbollah / Hamas / Iran plan; which is to tie down thousands of IDF soldiers on the West Bank. Phase two is to tie down tens of thousands more Israeli’s in another Gaza operation. Phase three is for an Hezbollah Israel war in the north when so many Israeli soldiers are tied down elsewhere. All this to come after Islamic Extremism is defeated in Syria.
The raises come after plans to mobilize tens of thousands of reservists were announced.
The Islamist Extremists are now losing ground on all fronts.
Russia is importing advanced weaponry into Syria including advanced air defense systems which are not needed for the anti extremist campaign. This appears to be a clandestine upgrading of the Syrian army as these weapons will most likely be left behind when the Russians leave.

The Israeli coalition with a majority of only one is likely to fall by next summer bringing new elections in Israel.
The new US backed moderate coalition in Syria the Democratic Forces of Syria is expected to join the Russian Syrian peace plan as soon as it is endorsed by the Saudi’s. The Saudi’s are holding back until an agreement on Assad is finalized. The fate of Assad is the point holding up international agreement on the Russian peace plan.
11 NOV: After defeating the IS attempt to cut the highway to Aleppo the Syrian government soldiers Wednesday reliueved the Kweires air base in Aleppo province and freed two hundred officers and troops from a two-year siege by the Islamic State. For two years food and needed supplies had been smuggled into the men by locals chaffing under Islamic State governance. This represents an enormous victory for Syria as it will enable the deployment of attack helicopters to the base on the outskirts of Aleppo for liberation of that province.
On Saturday the international conference on resolving the Syrian conflict is to resume.
10 NOV: The IDF, Shin Bet and police arrested 24 Hamas members in Qalqilya over night. The cell served as a regional West bank Hamas headquarters and worked to renew the organization’s activities in the city and nearby villages. The cell received instructions and large-scale funding from Hamas headquarters in Qatar and the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces have been arresting dozens of suspected militants nightly for weeks.
09 NOV: A captain in the Jordanian police opened fire in the cafeteria of the Special Operations Training Center outside the Jordanian capital, Amman, where American instructors are training Iraqi’s, Kurds and Syrian insurgents. Two trainers from the US and one from South Africa were initially reported killed and another six wounded, including two more Americans and four Jordanians. A Jordanian government spokesman said later Monday that the number of fatalities had risen to eight, without specifying nationality.
The US Central Command Forward-Jordan, overseeing the whole allied anti Islamic Extremist war is just outside Amman. There are more than 10,000 coalition ground troops and special operations forces troops present in Jordan training tens of thousands of Iraqi’s Kurds and Syrian insurgents as well as controlling the entire war effort.

A massive American air defense exercise Juniper Cobra 2016 is planned for Israel and the Middle East presently scheduled for May 2016. In the two-hour summit the two leaders are to discuss a series of regional security issues including the expansion of US military aid to Israel. 08 NOV: British PM David Cameron will deliver a speech on Tuesday warning that he will exit the EU if he does not get what he wants. The speech will accompany a letter to the European Council president setting out the changes he wants for the UK. The letter to Donald Tusk will mark the start of the UK’s formal re-negotiation of its EU membership. He has already said he wants an end to the commitment to ever-closer union, more power for national governments and restrictions on benefits for EU migrants.
Heavy winter weather is now hampering operations in Iraq / Syria. While the pressure will be kept up against the Islamic extremists as conditions permit, the main focus for the next few months will be on cobbling together an agreement between Syria and the American backed insurgents.
06 NOV: Compelling evidence has emerged that the Russian airliner downed over Sinai was destroyed by an internal bomb explosion. Autopsies show passengers died of a large shock wave and penetrating iron balls, while the fuselage was pierced with numerous holes of large shrapnel exiting the plane’s skin from the inside to the outside. In addition France 2 TV is reporting that “the sound of an explosion can be distinctly heard during the flight” according to “an investigator who had access to the black box” of the Metrojet plane that crashed in the Sinai.
The US military is now using close air support A 10 aircraft as well as C130 gunships to support Kurdish Syrian insurgents in their offensive down the Syria Iraqi b order.
In a 370-58 vote, the House overwhelmingly passed a revised 2016 military spending bill. The Senate is expected to vote and pass the same bill within the next week. 04 NOV: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou have arranged to meet in Singapore on Saturday for the first time their leaders have met since the Chinese civil war ended in 1949. The two leaders plan to discuss peace.

Heading to Washington for a high-profile visit next week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is once again bringing a substantial wishlist of military gear. That was not wholly unexpected, as plans are to announce a $1 billion annual increase to the US aid budget to Israel. That may not be enough, however.
Former Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren said the visit was going to see Netanyahu laying out what is necessary to “deter Iran,” and that it is going to cost America $4.5 billion annually. The current aid gifted by the US to Israel is around $3.1 billion yearly. This hike in annual spending will be above and beyond the multi-billion dollar one-off military aid package the US is planning to give to Israel as “reparations” for the international nuclear deal with Iran. Israel will make its additional one shot demands known after teh budgeted annual grant is passed.
Violence in Iraq continues ;
About 100 militants were killed during an Iraqi operation liberating the 7th Kilometer region near Ramadi.
Operations in Albu Hayat left 40 militants dead.
Operations that included the cleansing of Madaiq left 33 militants dead.
Twelve militants were killed in Husayba.
Russia has opened a new base in Tiyas, Syria near Palmyra – bringing the number of Russian bases in Syria to four. The first base in Latakia remains the main hub for Russian operations in Syria. The second, a forward staging base, opened in Hama. The third base opened just south of Homs in Shairat.
The Russians have moved five attack helicopters to the new base in Tiyas in the heart of teh Islamic State near Palmyra.
The Russian and U.S. air forces held a communications practice and jointly bombed Palmyra in Syria to practice cooperating on Tuesday. Russia has invited representatives from Syria and the US backed opposition to talks in Moscow next week. The talks are to reach a ceasefire ahead of negotiations on a political settlement. Such a ceasefire will enable the US and Russia to jointly work to destroy all Islamic Extremism in Syria / Iraq.
02 NOV: Israel bombs advanced missile convoy headed to Hezbollah Monday after a similar strike on Saturday.

Iraqi Security forces reported killing 146 militants during operations in Samarra as their anti Islamic State offensive continues.
Iraqi and Kurdish forces are now massing at Sinjar in the Syrian border area, to join the developing Kurdish Syrian insurgent offensive on the other side of the border by attacking on the Iraqi side. This offensive will split the Islamic State between its Syrian and Iraqi sections and separate the two IS capitals Mosul, Iraq and Raqqa, Syria.
The Islamic State is attacking along the Aleppo Damascus highway to defend against the Russian backed Syrian offensive to relieve the IS siege of Aleppo; thus leaving the Syria Iraqi border area only lightly defended.
Very heavy rains Thurs, to Sat. caused a delay in the Iraqi Ramadi operation but were a tremendous blessing in disguise as the heavy rain caused hundreds of explosive devices and booby traps laid in Ramadi by Daesh to explode. On Sunday Iraqi forces entered the city from multiple directions and reached the center of the town.
01 NOV: Government of Israel to abolish parental guardianship of children and give the state authority over all children in all things including their religion.
Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, wins decisive majority as his ruling Justice and Development party (AKP) swept back to single-party government with a convincing win in national elections. With more than 95% of the votes counted, the party won almost 50% of the vote. That would give it about 325 seats in the 550-seat parliament, comfortably ahead of its three main rival parties and easily enough to form a government on its own.
Prime minister and AKP leader, Ahmet Davutoğlu, hailed the result as “victory for democracy”. Addressing party supporters at a victory rally he said: “Hopefully we will serve you well for the next four years.”
The vote of the main opposition Republican People’s party (CHP) secured about the same as it did in June with about 25% of the vote and around 134 seats. Support for the nationalist MHP fell sharply with only 12% and about 40 seats compared to 80 in June’s election.
The Leftist pro-Kurdish HDP surpassed the 10% threshold necessary to win seats in the new Parliament. But its support dipped from the 13% it secured in June’s elections to just over 10%.
Air strikes by Turkish and U.S. aircraft in Syria on Saturday killed more than 50 Islamic State militants and wounded around 30, The strikes were in support of the new Kurdish anti Islamic State offensive designed to split the Syria section off from the Iraqi portion of the IS.

The conference goal is an agreement for an alliance against all Islamic groups and to begin talks on a new government and constitution for Syria is to be discussed. The powers backing the sides have already agreed and the parties will have little choice except to comply
In a joint statement, last week’s conference participants said they have asked the United Nations to initiate talks between the Syrian government and the opposition to launch “a political process leading to credible, inclusive, non-sectarian [this leaves out all Islamic extremists] governance, followed by a new constitution and elections.”
