31 Jul:   Some 7,000 armed Turkish police with heavy vehicles have surrounded and blocked the Incirlik Air Base in Adana, large trucks entered the airbase with the Turkish police subsequently closing the entrance and exits, the police were deployed to halt a suspected creaction to the present purge..

At least 50 Islamic State fighters have been killed in rural areas outside Fallujah where they had fled when that city fell.  IS leaders and foreign fighters are evacuating Mosul ahead of the expected offensive to liberate the city.

29 Jul:   Both Trump and Clinton are owned by the same establishment.  Hillary Clinton to have the same foreign policy as Trump.  Clinton to ‘Reset’ Syria War, Focus on Ousting Assad 

According to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy adviser, she would order a “full review” of the Syrian war as her first task upon taking office, with an eye toward a “reset” of the conflict to shift focus toward attacking the Assad government and imposing regime change.

Clinton’s aide, former Pentagon chief of staff Jeremy Bash, insisted that Assad’s was a “murderous regime” and that US foreign policy would be to escalate both the war against ISIS and this new war against Assad to get both “out of there” at the same time.  This move will also mean a war on the regime in Iran.

 Syria instructs Aleppo inhabitants to evacuate the city and offers amnesty to rebel fighters who lay down their weapons and stop fighting within the next three months.  Aleppo is now completely cut off from all outside sources of supply and a siege of the city has begun.  The government will give supplies to all who evacuate the city including rebels who lay down their arms and stop fighting.  It can be assumed that after a three month siege, by early November after the UN General Assembly meetings in New York, Syrian – Russian forces will launch an operation to liberate the city.

28 Jul:  US Israel exercise joint operations in the Negev

Russia DM: More Forces Deployed in Crimea, Northern Caucasus as NATO builds up in Europe.  Speaking today on state television, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shogu announced additional military deployments along the nation’s southwestern flank with NATO, including the deployment of more air defense systems and ground troops into the Northern Caucasus, and additional troops into the Crimea. Russia’s territory in the Northern Caucasus doesn’t border NATO, but has a substantial border with Georgia, which has NATO ambitions. Both Russia and NATO have been escalating deployments on their frontier in Europe.  

Further shaking the EU,  Poland given three months to comply with EU demands in a disciplinary procedure that could lead to the suspension of Warsaw’s EU voting rights and the freezing of its EU funds.

79 year old pope Francis who suffers from a serious heart condition and has only one lung stumbled and fell on a stair in Poland yesterday, there was no apparent injury.


27 Jul:   Israel to take delivery of F-35 war planes in December.


26 Jul:   Al-Qaeda’s formal affiliate in Syria the Al  Nusra Front is breaking with Al Qaeda and changing its name  to the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, or Sham Liberation Front, which will no longer be affiliated with al-Qaeda’s parent organization.  The move is intended to take it off of Russia’s target list while legalizing its support from Turkey and accommodating the US.  American acceptance of the shift will in turn recognize Turkey’s influence in Syria and gain Turkish support for the coming anti Islamic State offensive.  The Al Nusrah Front occupies an area mostly on the Turkish border and represents Turkish influence inside Syria.  

Islamic State forces begin fleeing Mosul for Raqqa Syria.

Israel bill, if passed;  may finally give people the Sabbath day off work.   The Labour, Welfare, and and Health Committee passed, for its first reading, an initiative by MK Yigal Guetta (Shas) which would protect the “weekly day of rest” of any employee, unconditionally.  The bill forbids any employer from mandating an employee or service provider work against his will on his Shabbat, from exacting fines from an employee who refuses to work on Shabbat, or from cancelling his contract on Shabbat.  

Israeli officials head to the US for final talks on a ten year aid program, which was discussed by Lieberman on his recent trip.  Deal is expected in September.

24 Jul:  The fight for Mosul was high on the agenda this as international defense and foreign ministers in Washington discussed military strategy against Islamic State and raise funding for Iraq.  The meeting which concluded yesterday is to be followed up  by a  US, Russia and UN high level meeting on Syria in Geneva on July 26.  

In Iraq troops are being massed for an operation to liberate Mosul and high level meetings are being held between factions on their roles in the coming battle for Mosul. After Mosul is liberated the Islamic State will be squeezed into Raqqa Syria.  

The International Olympic Committee has decided to leave Russian exclusion to individual sports bodies.

G20 finance ministers and central bank governors meet in Chengdu, capital city of southwestern China’s Sichuan Province where focus was on Brexit economic challenges.


22 Jul:   German police announce that one gunman probably acting alone attacked a Munich McDonald’s outside a shopping mall killing ten. The gunman has been tracked down by police and has suicided.  German leaders are holding crisis meetings.   These attacks could have a profound effect on the EU and Brexit, with the possibility of negotiating a new deal and a round of ratification votes for the new deal.  We shall see what develops in the next months.

Orthodox Rabbi’s speak out for free speech:   300 rabbis across Israel signed a letter in solidarity with Rabbi Levinstein despite referring to LGBT people as ‘perverts;’   The Rabbis penned a letter which was published on Wednesday night stating: “There is no place for legitimizing these phenomena or this behavior which celebrates a lifestyle contrary to human morality and the path of the Torah.”

The love toward every human being from Israel and the obligation to show respect to every person cannot be used as a reason to twist the religious truth or to cut corners regarding forbidden acts,” the rabbis wrote. “It is the duty of a rabbi in Israel to deal with all religious or moral matters in a clear fashion as teachers in Israel. In this vein, we reject the attempt to shut the mouths of rabbis in Israel.” 

In spite of this most non Orthodox rabbi’s and even some Orthodox speak highly favorably of homosexuality

20 Jul:   Breaking 14:00 EDT:  State of Emergency declared in Turkey.  Erdogan assumes dictatorial powers, promises many more arrests as academics barred from leaving the country. 

After consulting with German Chancellor British PM May to drag feet on Brexit, will delay process until at least next year.

Turkish authorities have formally charged 99 generals for alleged role in the failed coup. More than 6,000 military personnel have been arrested on suspicion of active complicity in the coup plot.  More than 60,000 people had been rounded up, sacked or suspended from their jobs by Erdogan, including 9,000 police officers and 3,000 judges.   

The police actually supported Erdogan but belong to a different Islamic tradition.  If that many people had been involved the coup would have been successful


19 Jul:  Turkey Update:  Erdogan shuts down all independent media in Turkey, suspends 15,000 education minister workers and revokes the teaching licenses of 21,000 teachers as power grab continues.  14 Turkish naval vessels have gone mossing.  Erdogan claims to be fighting extremist Islam, while he is an Islamist himself. 

This has developed into a power grab against the Gulen movement which is Islamic but teaches democracy and a secular state, by Islamist extremist Erdogan who wants to destroy the secular nature of Turkey and become an Islamic dictator

Gulen and Erdogan were at one time close allies until a 2013 breakup.

German police shot dead a 17-year-old Afghan refugee after he injured 17 people, two critically, in an axe and knife attack on a passenger train near the German town of Wuertsburg. Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann has confirmed the teenager,was an Islamic State sympathizer.   

The drone which flew over northern Israel evading Israeli helicopters and war planes as well as three Patriot missiles, has been identified as a made in Iran “Yasir’ drone launched from a Hizballah base in Syria’s Qalamoun Mountains.  The drone was produced by reverse engineering the American ScanEagle drone downed intact over Iran on Dec. 17, 2012.  Iran gave one of the drones to Russia and yesterday’s event appears to have been a test of the drone’s capabilities under real combat conditions

The Erdogan purge of all possible opposition to his proposed constitutional changes to make him virtual dictator continue. 

85 generals and admirals have been suspended and are facing charges.  Nearly 20,000 members of the police, civil service, judiciary and army have now been detained or suspended.  1,500 finance ministry officials had been suspended.  Erdogan is also arresting anyone associated with the teachings of Fethullah Gulen, a Muslim cleric followed by millions of Turks, based in Pennsylvania; and is demanding that the US extradite him to Turkey or have US Turkish relations collapse. 

NATO has warned Turkey that Turkey will be ejected from NATO if Erdogan does not back down from his moves, while the EU has told Turkey that any possibility of further talks for Turkey joining the EU are evaporating.

Erdogan called the coup attempt a “gift from God allowing us to cleanse the nation”  which is Islamic speak for ending the Turkish secular system and bringing in his own brand of Islamic rule with himself as dictator.  

Resistance to Erdogan is beginning to build as his intentions become more widely known. Various military assets including 42 Turkish Air Force planes have disappeared with their crews and three million public servants have been ordered to cancel their vacations this year. 

The situation is continuing to ripen and if promised executions begin they may trigger a popular uprising against Erdogan.


18 Jul:   The United States and European Union on Monday sternly warned Turkey to respect the rule of law after President Recep Tayyip Erdogans government launched a massive crackdown following the failed coup, arresting over 7,500 people and sacking more than 9,000 so far.

 Erdogan expands wave of arrests and blocks access to media; government plans to bring back death sentences.   Turkish officials now say that nearly 8,000 police officers have been suspended, on suspicion of having links to the failed coup.  Thirty provincial governors and more than 50 high-ranking civil servants were also fired,

Note many police died fighting the army coup faction in support of the president.  The coup is being used as an excuse to purge the Turkish governing system to establish an Erdogan Islamic dictatorship.   Lists of thousands of names of people to be arrested were prepared well before the coup.  This may not be over yet as people realize what is going on.

17 Jul:  Seven police officers shot, three dead today in Baton Rouge, La.. One shooter down and police are looking for at least one more gunman.

President Erdogan is using the coup attempt to quash all opposition parties in TurkeyOver 6,000 have already been arrested and arrest warrants were issued for 2,745 judges [who were not involved in the coup] in what was widely expected to mark the start of a purge of all opposition to Erdogan’s plans for an Islamic dictatorship in the country which action may itself provoke a real military coup against him

A long rumored military coup  has failed in Turkey.   

Erdogan had called a meeting of military leaders for next week and was preparing to purge the leaders of the coup plot, triggering the coup months before it was ready.  The main military knowing they were not ready, refused to back the plotters and the coup failed.

Although John Kerry denied American complicity, which is standard for the US in all their foreign coups, Suleyman Soylu, Turkey’s labor minister, has now accused the US of being behind the coup.  Actually the US may not have approved the advance in the coup timing and may be able to claim they are not involved because of that fact. 

The Turkish government shut down access to the Incirlik Air Base on Saturday; the United States and other NATO allies have combat units  in Incirlik for strikes against the Islamic State. The air base also houses American nuclear weapons.

The base is home to the Turkish Air Force and the US Air Force’s 39th Air Base Wing, which includes about 1,500 American personnel.


16 Jul:   Gen. Umit Dundar, the newly appointed acting chief of Tueky’s general staff, said more than 190 people died in clashes: 41 police officers, two soldiers, 47 civilians and 104 people described as ‘‘coup plotters.’’  Five generals have been suspended and 1,500 plotters arrested.   The coup was triggered by Erdogan’s step by step accrual of dictatorial powers, now his powers are likely to be further increased.  


15 Jul:   Update 20:45 EDT:   It appears that the coup in Turkey may have failed after members of the president’s party took to the streets and the army failed to back the perpetrators.   President Erdogan has arrived in Istanbul.

Breaking 17 ;30 EDT:  After months of rumors of a Western backed military coup brewing in Turkey to prevent the accrual of dictator powers in the country by president Erdogan a military coup is unfolding in Turkey.

 Military jets seen over Ankara and gunfire heard in the capital Friday night as the prime minister Binali Yildirim said a group within the army was attempting to stage a coup. In Istanbul, Turkish Gendarmerie and soldiers blocked entrances to bridges over the Bosphorus while tanks blocked Ataturk airport.  The military says it has taken over. The situation remains unclear. The whereabouts of President Tayyip Erdogan is not knowm. 

Sky reports state TV and the national phone system have been confiscated.  According to unconfirmed reports Turkish generals are being held hostage at Istanbul HQ.


There are now 84 dead in Nice with over a dozen still critical and 202 injured.  Although IS calls for attacks may have been the final trigger; the attacker did his best to target children and likely acted in uncontrolled anger and a mentally unstable state over the loss of his own children to a divorce ruling.   France extends state of emergency for three more months.

Ari Harrow, Netanyahu’s former chief of staff — was detained and questioned on Thursday evening “as part of an ongoing investigation” into Benjamin Netanyahu.  Haaretz reported that Israeli police launched a probe last week into Harrow’s suspected involvement in the fictitious sale of a non existent business supposedly worth $3 million as a means to launder money provided to Netanyahu from the USA.  The 43-year-old American born businessman was reportedly tasked in 2002 with raising overseas funds for Netanyahu.  Harrow was questioned for 14 hours and then remanded to house arrest for five days to keep him available for further questioning.


14 Jul:  

BREAKING 19:10 EDT:   French President Francois Holland interrupted his weekend holiday and returned to Paris Thursday night for crisis talks.  At least 73 people were killed when a huge truck drove into crowds celebrating Bastille Day in the French Riviera town of Nice on the famous Promenade des Anglais seafront Thursday night in what police describe as an Islamist terror attack.  Hundreds more were injured. An accomplice was seen escaping. According to witnesses, he came out shooting. People were advised to stay home and keep their cars off the roads in case of armed men out in the town The driver is reported killed by police gunshots in an attempt to stop the huge truck, which continued to plough at a speed of 35 Mph  into the crowds which were watching a fireworks display. Guns and hand grenades were later found stowed in the truck.

The IDF entered the West Bank village of Mazra’a al-Arabiya, where thirteen people were wounded when locals confronted the troops.

Donald Trump will reportedly pick staunch Israel backer Indiana Governor Mike Pence to be his running mate.  Trump is expected to make an official announcement on his vice president candidate Friday,

David Davis appointed as British minister for exiting the European Union, a new post for managing the process of Britain’s EU withdrawal.

John Kerry in Moscow to seal deal on destruction of Islamic State The US has agreed to allow the destruction of the Al Qaeda Al Nusrah Front for Russian help to destroy the IS.  Kerry is offering Putin a deal under which the US will supply the Russian air force with precise intelligence on Al Qaeda, Nusrah Front and ISIS targets, and a joint command post and operations center for combined operations against the Al Nusrah Front and the Islamic State;  in exchange for a commitment by Moscow to stop its attacks on Syrian opposition groups operated and supported by the American administration

General Christophe Gomart, head of France’s Directorate of Military Intelligence has informed the French intelligence and security services that a number of Brazilian citizens will try to carry out a terrrorist attack against French athletes at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro next month.

13 Jul:   Boris Johnson named new British Foreign Minister; leader of Brexit fight will have a large part in Brexit.

Israel violates the 1974 Armistice with Syria, building fortifications inside the UN Demilitarized Zone between the two nations.  The move is being taken because of fighting between various militias in the immediate area.

Israeli military bulldozers backed by tanks have crossed into the demilitarized zone dividing the Israeli and Syrian Golan border. They are building a line of fortifications and anti-tank trenches 300-500 meters inside the DMZ between the Israeli Golan village of Ein Zivan, and the Syrian town of Quneitra. 

The DMZ separates Syrian and Israeli forces on the Golan and was defined in the 1974 armistice agreements as a demilitarized zone under the military control of the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) and Syrian civilian administration.

Iraqi forces from the 9th Armoured Division and the counter-terrorism service liberated Ajhala village north of Qayara base linking up to isolate teh Islamic State center of Mosul in Iraq.


12 Jul:   Western backed Libyan government moves from naval base to new Tripoli offices indicating they are now feeling secure and in control.  Libya prepares to resume petroleum production

The Islamic State is preparing for coming battle [likely late this year] by amassing terror squads, while Russia has appointed Colonel-General Alexander Dvornikov as  head of the South Russia military district and Syria operations.

This district covers Russian forces including naval units in the Black and Caspian Seas, the Fourth Air Force Defense Army and Russian bases in Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Armenia.  Gen. Dvornikov will also command Russian forces in Syria and dozens of army divisions.  The General will be responsible for the coming anti IS offensive in Syria and for keeping the lid on Islamic State attacks on Russia.  See yesterday’s report for Western preparations for the coming offensive. 

After the Islamic State is taken down these Russian forces, along with others on the Ukraine border,  will be at the ready for an anticipated confrontation with NATO.


11 Jul:  

British Update 13:25 EDT:   Theresa May to become British PM on Wednesday moving the process and Brexit  ahead by three months

The 1922 committee of Conservative MPs, which is overseeing the leadership contest, has declared Mrs May the new party leader “with immediate effect”.

David Cameron says he will do Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday and then head to Buckingham Palace and officially tender his resignation to the Queen and recommend she sends for Theresa May as his replacement

Mrs May will then go to Buckingham Palace to see the Queen and receive her invitation to form a government

Theresa May should then be in place as UK prime minister by Wednesday evening 

 Defense Secretary Ash Carter made a visit to Baghdad today, announcing that the United States will send 560 more troops to Iraq.  The troops will establish the newly liberated air base of Qayara as a supply and staging hub in the coming  battle for Mosul. Most of the new troops will be devoted to the build-up of the air base, about 40 miles south of Mosul, and include engineers, logistics personnel and other forces.

Breaking News 07:30 EDT:  In a stunning development Andrea Leadsom has withdrawn from the Conservative Party leadership race due to the insurmountable lead of Theresa May, a desire for stability and getting on with Brexit as soon as possible.    Theresa May as the only remaining leadership candidate is expected to become British  Prime Minister within days

Iraqi forces have liberated Qayara airbase and are moving into the town and adjacent oil refinery.  The air base is a key facility in the advance on Mosul. 

Japan government reelected.


10 Jul:   Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will visit Israel later Sunday for talks with Netanyahu. 

Israel Hamas ready for another war

Israel holds realistic mass casualty drills for next war today.

Netanyahu has come under investigation for money laundering on a massive scale. The authorities are almost ready to release details of their investigation and  if anything is found it would force the PMs resignation in the future, finally bringing down king Bibi.  NOTE:  Money laundering is nearly impossible to prove.

Kurds expanding war into Iran.  The Iranian Revolutionary Guards ground forces chief, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Hossein Rajabi, was assigned Friday with the command of the Guards units fighting a Kurdish insurgency in eastern Iran.   He was brought in to quell the uprising that was boosted in recently by Peshmerga forces infiltrating from Iraq. 

Deputy Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said Iran/Hezbollah has over 100,000 missiles in Lebanon alone ready for the “annihilation” of Israel.  Hossein Salami also said that Iran has “tens of thousands” of additional missiles that are at the ready in Iran.

The US and Russia have agreed to cooperate to demolish the Islamic State it is after that, that the big troubles will begin as they return to wrangling over the fate of Syria and confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah escalates to include Iran.

NATO has confirmed the operational status of the US-built missile defense system in Europe, and announced today that NATO will take direct control over the system, putting US ships involved in the operation under direct NATO command and control.  The transfer of control to NATO came at the behest of several European members, particularly France, who wanted European control over the system. 

As expected, NATO’s Warsaw summit today saw agreement on a deployment of an additional 4,000 ground troops into Eastern Europe, which NATO Secretary-General Jens Stollenberg presented as a message to Russia. However Germany, France and Italy are showing signs of wavering from the hard-line stance of America against Russia. 

Currently the US is angling for a confrontation with Russia as soon as next year and it is Germany and Europe who will be on the front lines.

A New Europe will ultimately form taking over NATO, and the world will initially welcome a new world security balance of powers system now in the planning stages to set up a new federal Europe as a counterbalance between East and West.  The new system would see the USA, Britain, Canada and others  leave NATO which would become a strictly European security defense organism.

After police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and suburban St. Paul, Minnesota each killed a black man apparently without cause Minnesota, gunfire broke out at a Dallas protest around 8:45 p.m. Thursday. Five policemen killed and six others injured; 3 suspects in custody, a fourth dies after standoff with officers


7 Jul:   Special forces troops from Germany and Canada landed early Thursday morning in the town of Tel Abyad in northern Syria near the Turkish border to set up logistics support for the coming  operation against the Islamic State capital of Raqqa, the troops are expected to ensure and protect the flow of supplies, ammunition and troops into the fight. Tel Abyad is about 90 kilometers [56 mi] north of the ISIS capital in Syria.  

The next British prime minister, who will lead Britain out of the EU will be either cabinet veteran Theresa May or political newcomer Andrea Leadsom after Conservative MPs voted for a two-woman shortlist.  Theresa May is the favorite of the moment

Independent British Chilcot Commission issues devastating report on  Tony Blair and the Iraq war. 

FBI and Justice Dept clear Clinton of charges over her emails and security breaches saying that she was just incompetent.  While saved from prosecution f0r the same offenses that others paid heavily for, her stated incompetence will not help her presidential run. 

Turkey turns on Islamic State as US and Russia agree to begin final anti IS offensive later this year. 

In late September the Russian warship Admiral Kuznetsov will deliver a large number of Russian Alligator attack helicopters for the battle.


6 Jul:   The Israeli Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) and the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) have successfully conducted a test meant to check the integration of Israeli and American missile defense systems, it was announced Wednesday.
The “Integrated Ground Test,” the first of its kind with the new defense systems, spanned five days and ended on June 22. 

Tested were real-time communication between missile defense systems in Israel and the US, simulating a scenario in which thousands of rockets and missiles from Iran and Lebanon are fired at Israel at the same time to see how efficiently the six different missile defense systems can work together to eliminate the threats. The focus was on connecting the missile defense system to the US radar system to detect the projectiles. 


5 Jul:   Yesterday’s bombing at the Medina Mosque has galvanized the entire Islamic world against terrorism.  Medina is the site of the tomb of Mohamed.  Four Saudi security guards died protecting pilgrims at Mohamed’s Tomb Mosque as bombs hit three Saudi cities.

More details have been revealed about what happened immediately after the Palestinian shooting attack on a settler family in the Hebron area of the West Bank. There were two cars of Palestinians who stopped to help the family of Michael Mark, who was killed in the attack. First, a former security prisoner in an Israeli jail helped get the two children out of the back seat. “I did what I did out of humanity,” the unnamed Palestinian man told Channel 2 News. “There were children inside. There were people inside. I didn’t hesitate at all.” Then Dr. Ali Abu Sharkh, a Palestinian doctor driving by stopped and gave first aid to Mark’s wife and sent a message to the couple’s children via Ynet’s Elior Levy who tracked him down and interviewed him


4 Jul:  The perpetrators of the June Tel Aviv shooting, leaving 4 dead and 15 wounded, have been arrested. The operation was a joint effort of Shabak, the IDF, and other special forces units.

Two of the arrested are Mahmoud and Halad Mahmara, born in ’95, and are residents of Yatta, in the area of Yatir. Mahmoud was an ISIS supporter, who studied in Jordan before returning home in 2016. The two wanted to enact an attack in the name of ISIS, although they lacked official support from the organization.

Another suspect arrested, Yunis Ayish Moussa Zin, born in ’94, had acquired a Carlo gun, and planned to join the attack with the Mahmara brothers, but couldn’t make it due to technical issues.


3 Jul:     Bibi and Lieberman approve construction of 560 apartments in Maale Adumim and 200 apartments in the neighborhoods of Ramot, Har Homa and Pisgat Zeev, total 760. Israel approves 600 Palestinian homes also approves 760 Jewish homes.

The Russian heavy cruiser aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov will begin a six month deployment to Syrian waters on October first.  The carrier and crew will be battle tested before the ship is upgraded. 

The heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser will reportedly have 15 Sukhoi Su-33 all-weather air superiority fighters and Mikoyan MiG-29K/KUB multirole fighters onboard, as well as more than 10 Kamov Ka-52K, Ka-27, and Ka-31 helicopters

Israel has locked down the Hebron area and decided not to return the bodies of fallen attackers to their families. Instead, they will be buried in a specially designated cemetery, as yet to be established.  Israel will also continue the anti-tunnel operations in Gaza


1 Jul:  The Israeli army began a series of anti tunnel operations inside Gaza this past Wednesday  which have resulted in 12 mortars being fired at the invaders, and appears to have triggered today’s attacks in Israel culminating in a rocket hit on an empty kindergarten at 22:59 local time Friday night.  

The anti tunnel operations are the result of a treasure trove of tunnel information from several recent Hamas defectors.

Israel said it had “no interest whatsoever” in a military escalation, but would continue the operations inside Gaza; which if not halted will bring such a confrontation.

Hamas’s Gaza leader, Ismail Haniya, said on Friday that the group was “not calling for a new war”, but would not accept Israeli incursions into Gaza.

Israeli aircraft hit two Hamas sites in the southern city of Khan Younes this evening.

The Israeli security cabinet meets in emergency session Saturday night.

UPDATE  12:00 EDT:   Israeli security and military forces are out in strength to catch the Palestinian terrorists responsible for the drive-by shooting earlier Friday, which took the life of Michael Marc and injured his wife and children. The entire Hebron region is in lockdown. The IDF has ramped up its presence there by two brigades – one of paratroops and one from Golani.

A Palestinian drive-by shooting killed a man driving with his family Friday on Rte 60 near Ain Fawar south of Hebron. His wife is in a critical condition- both were in their 40s, their two children hurt, when their car overturned.   This comes after  a 40-year-old-man was seriously wounded and a 60-year-old woman were stabbed in Netanya and a young girl of thirteen was stabbed to death in Kiryat Arba yesterday.  Else-where a Palestinian female terrorist was shot dead at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron Friday morning while attempting to stab Israelis.
